View Full Version : Tarentine Horseman of Magna Graecia Yang Liu Nov 18, 2009, 12:43 AM PDMA not allowed The Guardian Nov 18, 2009, 02:52 AM very nice, hope we see more. Cimbri Nov 18, 2009, 03:19 AM Awesome looking unit, H. Balck! :goodjob: Kyriakos Nov 18, 2009, 03:49 AM Very nice :) Is it in the same scale as the bulk of other units? tom2050 Nov 18, 2009, 04:21 AM All 11 Storyboards (Yes, 11!, Thank You Yang Liu!) have been converted to FLC's, but I still need to test them in game, and I am waiting for H.Balck to send 1 image of unit SW direction so I can create the Large and Small PCX. If they are larger in game, I can re-size them down later on. EDIT: Also, H.Balck, let me know if you have sounds for this, or else I will use pre-existing Civ3 sounds in the unit INI file. Tom Madeira Nov 18, 2009, 04:27 AM Excelent! W.i.n.t.e.r Nov 18, 2009, 04:28 AM These new horses of yours are indeed very good quality both in terms of the model as well as smoothness of movement =) have to add these into the game and hope they won't pale the existing ones. Virote_Considon Nov 18, 2009, 09:55 AM This is wonderful! Plotinus Nov 18, 2009, 10:12 AM Looks great. But why does the shadow change in the Death? ShiroKobbure Nov 18, 2009, 11:57 AM Looks great. But why does the shadow change in the Death? It might be because the spear is off the camera. I am making a horse archer, and I found that when the arrow goes too far off the camera it changes the main figures shadow. Great unit! Yang Liu Nov 18, 2009, 12:10 PM It might be because the spear is off the camera. I am making a horse archer, and I found that when the arrow goes too far off the camera it changes the main figures shadow. Yes ! The same problem in the shot animation - you must eliminat the shadow of the spears - than you have the correct shadow. Sorry - I have forget in my death animation. H.Balck edil Nov 18, 2009, 03:32 PM i'm of great greece , thanks :crazyeye: tom2050 Nov 19, 2009, 12:20 AM Everything is done... Sorry it took so long, my free hours get shorter by the day :) I've sent it over to H.Balck for posting (will in a minute here). Here is ingame pic alongside other Horse units. I did not resize the unit, but it is ever so slightly larger than the other Horse units, if anyone wishes to do a resize to make it slightly smaller... I am sure Yang Liu won't mind. Of course, compared to some other Civ 3 human units, it is in proportion (Firaxsis shrunk their mounted units, same with tanks, etc for obvious reasons). And, looks incredible in game! Terrific unit! 234735 Tom Supa Nov 19, 2009, 04:24 AM Good job. DeathB anim looks strange but I can live with it. Kyriakos Nov 19, 2009, 04:44 AM Of course, compared to some other Civ 3 human units, it is in proportion (Firaxsis shrunk their mounted units, same with tanks, etc for obvious reasons). And, looks incredible in game! Terrific unit! 234735 Tom It looks way bigger than the other mounted units.. zo-zo Nov 19, 2009, 06:24 AM Wow!, nice animations! RedAlert Nov 19, 2009, 11:04 AM Yes! Wow! Fantastic! Sandris Nov 19, 2009, 02:23 PM It looks way bigger than the other mounted units.. Probably, because it was designed for another game ? ;) Micha, nice animations ! Hope to see lots of new great of your creations soon, especially chariots and elephants. :D Mithadan Nov 19, 2009, 08:53 PM Cool, thanks! Madeira Nov 20, 2009, 07:40 AM I just noticed the pedia icon has white background, nice, great unit! Could you post a white background pedia icon for the Mycenean Chariot as well please? Vuldacon Nov 20, 2009, 10:59 AM Very Good conversions... I know that is a chore to do :goodjob: tom2050 Nov 20, 2009, 06:15 PM If someone else is going to resize the unit, or already is... let me know. If no one is doing so or plans on doing it, I can find an hour or so to do a resize next week. Tom nick0515 Nov 20, 2009, 08:30 PM Wow, excellent unit Yang Liu and Tom!!! Tom I think it needs a resize, if no one elses is planning too, and you can find a spare moment. It looks more than ever so slightly bigger than the other horses in your preview to me. I see mention of this as a conversion. From where? Sandris Nov 21, 2009, 03:35 AM I see mention of this as a conversion. From where? It`s not a conversion from another game, it is made for another game. :) nick0515 Nov 22, 2009, 05:26 AM I see. What game? Yang Liu Nov 22, 2009, 06:21 AM Hi nick0515 I will and I can not speaking here over other games. Please stop this questions or Plotinus close this thread ! This is not a free forum ! Thanks H.Balck Other games may be mentioned here, & are all the time. On the other hand PDMA is not allowed, as you well know Supa Nov 22, 2009, 06:32 AM If you don't mind me asking Yang Liu, do have other units in the making ? Takhisis Nov 22, 2009, 09:41 PM Looks fine. What program did you use? Yang Liu Nov 22, 2009, 10:24 PM Looks fine. What program did you use? I work with Poser 7, 3DMAX, VUE 7. Herm Yang Liu Nov 23, 2009, 09:45 AM Moderator Action: Other games may be mentioned here, & are all the time. On the other hand PDMA is not allowed, as you well know and Bye Bye ! :p I have no more desire of you rightfully to be constantly pointed because of nothing. Tölpel Yang Liu Nov 24, 2009, 07:28 PM He you can delete this thread ! I think you are the god of this thread Blue Monkey. I am out for CIV III. Make your own things "God administrator" Blue Monkey and give me another 2 infraction points. H.Balck  Plotinus Nov 25, 2009, 05:34 AM I've deleted the discussion of the moderator actions (other than the infractible posts). Yang Liu was given a warning (not an infraction). That happens. If he thought it unfair he should have taken it up with the moderator who did it, in private, or taken it to more senior moderators if he wasn't satisfied. Making snotty posts about it in public is not the way to handle anything and only results in more unpleasantness. Flouncing off in a hissy fit and taking your toys with you is anyone's right if they want to, but it's not particularly edifying behaviour. Kyriakos Nov 25, 2009, 10:11 AM Wow, what is with all these mod-poster wars lately  themanuneed Nov 25, 2009, 12:11 PM Obviously there's a big misunderstanding here... Mithadan Nov 25, 2009, 08:21 PM Obviously there's a big misunderstanding here...That's what I'm thinking. That, and an easily offended ego. Not the best mix! Partizanac Nov 28, 2009, 02:40 PM Congrats  you've chased away a unit creator! :) cheers! Steph Nov 28, 2009, 10:34 PM Other PDMA volunteers? Partizanac Nov 29, 2009, 03:07 PM Enough with PDMA Plotinus Nov 29, 2009, 04:59 PM Unfortunately it looks like the end of the road for this thread, doesn't it? It's been said so many times but it seems some people won't get the message: (1) If you disagree with a moderator action, you raise it in private with that moderator. If you're still not satisfied you do the same thing with one of the admins. You don't start making flaming posts. If you do you'll get infracted for them. End of story. (2) The same rules apply to everyone here, no matter how long they've been here and no matter how many units they've made. Making units doesn't qualify you for some kind of right to break the rules. (3) If somebody doesn't like these rules, it is entirely their own choice whether they obey them anyway, kick up a fuss, cause trouble, throw their toys out of their pram, flounce off in a huff, or whatever. Claiming they've been driven away or forced out or anything like that is just an excuse for refusing to take responsibility for their own actions. I'm really tired of people doing that - especially people who I have gone out of my way to help in various ways in the past. Most people manage to remember (1) and (2) and act appropriately. If a few people choose not to do that, that is entirely their choice, and they must accept the consequences of making that choice. If anyone doesn't agree with these points or thinks they've been unfairly applied in this case then feel free to PM me. So then, thread closed. Please, everyone, try to play more nicely in the next one. |
