View Full Version : How to disband captured cities?

The point is, I've captured this pesky spanish colony only one tile away from my own size 11 city. I'm sure that I don't want it, because there's too much overlap.
The problem is that it has a stockade, and I can't ('voluntarily')remove any colonists.

Is there a solution? Starve them to death or something?

Starve them. (thing is, the indians may gift you food there so it wouldn't work unless you shipped out all food)or leave it undefended and goad the indians into burning it, or use it as a resource for raw materials to be shipped to your size 11 city(ship everything, including food and lumber)

I would use it as a feeder for your size 11 city, which will eventually grow larger.
OR put all 3 citizens in the town building to generate liberty bells(clear and plow the town site so there is enough food for all three people.)

Doesn't plowing generate more food every turn?

Thanks.

EDIT:

It doesn't work. I've got it down to size 2, but now they produce excess food while they're both in the town hall making liberty bells...

Yeah, I said that with the intent of keeping the town. It is hard to get rid of them once they have a stockade, so might as well try to use it. I wouldnt bother building anything in it though, Except perhaps a warehouse or press/newspaper, just use the raw materials. If there are any specials there I would definately put a specialist to work. I would considder plowing/roading some likely looking spots for specials, or simply clearcut the whole thing for some cheap lumber.

Seriously, consider using it.
All the best,

Shab,
Next time consider taking them as soon as they land, unless they are soldiers/pioneers. then wait for them to build and take the town(immediately), that way you get their guns or hammers. It really isnt too big of a deal fighting a war with the others, particularly a defensive one.

Yeah, but in this particular case, that wasn't much of an option. My city was surrounded by 8 vet. dragoons, while my own dragoons were routed... so I had to back off. Those dragoons made 8 handy colonists later btw :D
