There have been no PTW announcements at all in Holland afaik and Amazon-US does not ship games to Europe. PTW can be pre-ordered for $29,99 at EBGames with an additional $30 for shipping. There might be more alternatives as well.

from what I experienced I get the feeling that, usually, games gome earlier in the Uk than in the rest of Europe... I'll keep an eye out at the UK online retailers!

Paying 30 dollar extra at EB is just too much for me.

Anyways, I was able to buy Civ3 more than a month after it was out in the US. :( I hope the date here will now be somewhere around the English date......

I got Civ3 (english version) nearly a week before the official european release date at Gamesclub in Vienna (see www.gamesclub.at). I'm quite sure they will get PTW some days earlier, too!

PTW can be bought from the 22th November in Denmark for 218 kr (aprox 28 Euro) from realgames.dk

I will talk to the wonder guy q Mediamarkt (he got me US Civ3 within a week when it was officially sold out in Germany) about PTW tomorrow.

All those who live near Reutlingen / Germany might benefit from him, too.......

What might be important for players in other languages: the German version (that Infogrames probably will use for Austria as well) will include both the English and the German version of PTW. To our information PTW will install in the language that already is installed in Civ3.

This doubleversion-procedure might be similar in other countries that also had the official release of the US version in last year some months before the release of a localized version.

btw: if you can't wait for Nov. 21 (Euroeapn release dates) and have some more money to spend, you can play the US import already next week, as Okaysoft Germany has a special price until Oct. 31: http://www.okaysoft.de/PTW.HTM

Betafon (www.betafon.dk) has it on thier homepage, the shop is located at Gyldenløvesgade 2 in København.

anyone know if the us-versions of ptw is compatible with european version of standard civ3???


if so, why dont we just order our copies from the states? i've found several places which ships to europe. and i dont have the pacience to wait untill european release date 22-nov....

If you order the game from the US, you'll have to pay 2 or maybe 3 times the normal price due to shipping and import taxes (the latter being not displayed on most websites...).
Not sure about the US-Euro compatibility, but as the patches works for both versions, I guess it should be the same for the expansion... :confused:

VG in Norway got a release link that claims that PTW will be released 20/12-2002 in the UK, and likley at the same time in Norway.

So, did anybody in Europe bought it yet. I think I will check the stores in Amsterdam later today!

Got PTW in the UK today in a high street shop in Birmingham.

If by any chance its helpful to anyone, look in Gamestation in the pallisades.

For everyone else in the UK after a copy, there were display cases in woolworths, but no copies of the game. I'm guessing though that the fact it's on the shelves means that some woollies will have it in stock.

The versoin I got was 1.01 and not compatible with the US patch :(

I think (I need check it) that PTW is already at israel (?) becouse i saw his two patches for download in an israelian site... in hebrew... for israeli people...

Amazon.co.uk have just emailed to say that my order has been shipped, should get here tomorrow... According to the front page here, they're shipping preorders, and it still shows as a preorder at Amazon. Glad I preordered it now. :)

I picked it up in the UK on Thursday. Haven't play it yet though. :(

My recommendation for people living in scandinavia is to buy the game from gamer.uk.com. They ship free to all Europe. Reasonable prices and some good point collecting.
