View Full Version : Taking over CPU players in multiplayer games

A friend and I have been playing a PBEM game for quite some time now.

Recently, we decided it might be fun to try something new: basically we want to play a "what if" alternate universe, loading an old save game when the game was developed, but neither of us overpowered the CPU players yet. Then, we'd like two friends of us to take over two cpu leaders, so we can play a 4 player game and see where does this lead us (my friend and I, the original game players, still playing), and how does this deviate from our first game.

Balance issues aside (yeah I know, the fact that we already know the map, etc). Is this possible? I mean I remember that in Civ 2 Gold it was certainly possible to load an old hotseat save game and set a higher amount of players, and then each one would choose a leader to take control of.

How would this be possible in Civ 4?

Thanks a lot in advance :)

żOr else, is there any way to turn a given saved game into a scenario?

Make sure "Takeover AI" is checked when you create the game, and then a player can join as the AI at any time.
