Once I saw this, I joined without a second thought. If you want the evolution spore you were hoping for in 2005, please join too. Modders, gaphical artists, programmers, composers, even an average joe with a dream of helping make a game please join. It's is still "active-ish", but close to dying, and somewhat at a standstill from lack of developers. Sorry for being a advertising poster, but I thought Spore fans should know.

I've got Spore, Creepy & Cute parts pack, and the Galactic Adventures expansion. I think the game fares well, but there hasn't been any word or mention of another expansion or "stuff" pack for over 6 months now. Some wonder if the game is dead, but then I recently saw that Maxis was hiring more staff. There's also some mention of a new "Spore" game for 2011, but no one knows if it is an expansion, stand-alone console game, or Spore 2.

Personally, I think the original Spore still has a lot of potential for growth and expansions. After playing Civilization, I really wish that the Civ Phase of Spore would be expanded upon in such a manner.

I'm pretty sure it would take a miracle for the game to get a re-boot. I'd expect maybe one more superficial expansion (parts), since the game still has a cult following, but nothing more.

Evolutions sounds cooler than Spore.

For me, and keep in mind I had high expectations for the game, Spore was a massive disappointment. Sure, it was a good game, but it was nothing like what was originally conceived. I had expected there to be several "substages", of the civilization stage, and hopefully the civilization stage would have been more like the actual Civilization game series, and have time periods, instead of starting out just before interstellar travel and having to unite the planet.

I was also hoping for less of a cartoon approach, and in general more of an adult game. As a stand-alone game, it is a good toy, but it's not in my opinion what it could have been. The funnest part is creating stuff, playing the game itself doesn't have much attraction to me after the first few days. Considering it's been nearly two years, I also suppose there is a time factor as well.

I agree with everything but the bold - the art style was great for me. I just wish the game had more substance under the style.

I've never seen Spore on TV, nor have seen much of it, except on this site.
