Next turn, the Teutons will make contact with their Commie "Pinko" neighbors, the Chinese. Building spearmen and archers for the occasion.

Game to Nick. So this isn't a spam post, I'll say some big news coming from the Celtic Empire: the settlers who were dispatched before discovered a suitable territory to bring under their control, and they named the new settlement "Alesias" (or was it...I can't remember the name! ;)). This increases the reach of the Celts by a large amount, and more settlers are being recruited to claim the rest of the fertile land around us.

Finally, I have a second city! I was getting worried when I saw everyone else had one, but mine took a few turns longer because I had to find the perfect spot.

Off to RIII...The great Persian Empire had much to be thankful for. Our second city began production on a worker while our first worker near the capital finished their mine and are now building the King's Highway through the forests that line the great river Euphrates. Work on a diamond mine has been holted due to some barbs in the area, but thanbks to our trusty warrior we were able to fire up dem barbs...:)...although they got now rank boost from the combat. No matter as our barracks will be finished in the capital very soon now. Our second city is far from the first encouraging maximum growth and it looks that there is no one within our area so we will continuie to expand as quickly as we can during this period of isolationism.

Yes, I am profoundly disturbed by those little score blips up top - in part because I am last, although I can live with that. What disturbs me most is that the AI civs are all kicking our ass by leaps and bounds.

This is, needless to say, unacceptable.

The AI's always lead in points at the beggining. Its later on, when you are tking thier capitol that you start to get ahead of them;)

I am back for the rest of the day BTW...For the curious, the surf was about 2-3 foot, very clear with about 5 guys out. Trying to get used to my shortboard again after riding my gun all last week during our monster swell...:)...

Once you have it installed, the configuration is next.

Click File (upper left hand corner), Options, IRC, Perform.

In the open screen, type:

/ns register your_password your_email@whatever.com
/ns identify your_password

Your_password = make one up.

There is a box labeled: On connect, perform these actions
Check that box.

Joe, I have a stupid question: for the first line of the stuff I type in that blank box, do I type "your_password your_email@whatever.com" or do I type my actual password and my actual email? The reason I ask such a stupid question is that I filled it all out, checked the checkbox, connected, and I get a "Cannot connect" error over and over. :mad: Frusterating.

Type in your actual password (make it up, and leave out the _ ) and your actual email adress (leave out the _ ). :)

LOL...no I am having no luck at all with any of this. I disabled my firewall and tried to log inot one of the pre-assigned chat servers to see if I could connect to any chat server and I still get the unable to resolve host error message. I think the fr%^&* cable company might have blocked all the ports used by the chat program. Will try the java based one on a Wintel machine. Nobody here uses MIM, huh?

They all suggested the same thing though, that we start another thread for summarys and pics. This thread is HUGE now, and full of non-game related posts (32 pages!!!).

I am suggesting RIII start another thread, and we let this one sink down the page.

We can chat in the chatroom, and post "essential" info in the thread.

What do you guys think?

For mIRC, from Chieftess:

"Here is some information on using mIRC

In mIRC, there is a window under File-->Options. Select Add. You will now be able to add the chat info.

Under description, type: "CFC" (or what ever you want).
Server: irc.webmaster.org Port: 6667 There are also nick and email fields. Fill those out accordingly.

Your nick is what you will use to register. Sometimes, your nick might be taken.

To Register: From any chat window (preferably "status"), type - /nickserv register Where is your user's password (remember it), and email is your email.

To identify the nick, type: (again, in any chat window) /nickserv identify
This is the same password you used to register.

You'll also want to put this in File-->Options-->IRC-->Perform. Type: /nickserv identify Click OK.
Then log on and check. "

I hope this helps some of you, otherwise please ask Chieftess personaly. I am new to it myself, and she helped me tremedously.

Attaching files causes the server to slow. About a year ago, the server crashed several times due to the large number of attached files, most notably in the SG Forum ( :mischief:...sorry...).

Use the file upload system. At the bottom of every page is a link (look down) that says "upload file".

Clicking on it calls up a second window with instructions on how to use the uploads. Basicly similar to uploading a custom avatar from your PC, you store your pics there. This has no adverse affects on the CFC Forums, so upload away.

Once you upload a file, you can click on a link to "view uploaded files" in the NEW folder (OLD folder is full). Index of images2 is the proper name.

Scroll down to your upload, if you dont see it, refresh. Right click on it and "copy image address".

Now, when you post a picture in a thread, type {img} {/img}
(replace the {} with [] )
and paste your image address in between. Done.

When you view the post, you will see the pic (not the IMG tags).
You can post several pics in one single post this way as well.

Just got the game from maui, and sent turn #27 to joe - a turn that bodes well for the future. Incidentally, all, I should let you know that I am now in contact with the Romans as well, although no physical sightings as of yet, since they appear to have been sold my contact via the Yanks.

OK, good point. Although I sent the game at...(checking sent folder) 3:30pm yesterday, and Nick didn't post until around 9pm. If he first came on at 9, it wouldn't matter if it got lost or not. :p Probably just got lost somewhere. :)

Hey R III from your screen shot it looks like my warrior is very close to your undefended city. Don't worry I have decided to leave it alone (I am just that nice:rolleyes: ). Just be sure to guard your cities a little better next time. Although maybe you do hava a deffender there by now?
