Trade Leader-BCLG100
Trade Deputy-Naervod

this was taken from the term 2 thread but as i agree
Mission

1 - Domestic Trade

In coordination with the Domestic and Military Departments, we will assess the needs of trade resources to keep our citizens happy, while determining the needs of our allies.

2 - Foriegn Trade

a) To avoid trading to civs items which may be passed to enemies to their benefit.
b) To prevent enemies from trading critical resources with other countries.
c) It may be desirable to disrupt potentially hostile trades, especially if "the friend of our friend is our enemy" or encourage cordial ones.
d) Clarification will be sought with the Foreign Affairs Department over our trading stance towards each country depending on current and future desired relations with that country.

3 - Tech Trade
The trade department opposes the trade of any strategic techs if a tech should fall within a resource or luxury trade, unless the tech benefits us with maintaining a competative edge with our neighbors.

4 - Acquisistion of Resources
In the event we need any resources to keep our citizens content, or for our defense, we will consult with the Foriegn and Military Departments.

5 - General Matters of Trade
If the voice of the citizens and citizen groups are strong enough, we may consider pursuing the desired resource and/or luxury.

I have been looking more into a 5:00pm-12:00am time slot in the event Shaitan has a evening turn chat. I live on the east coast of the US.

I have made my decision on appointees for the 2 planned Provincial Governor positions. donsig will be presented as Governor of the SouthWest Province and Cyc will be presented as Governor of the SouthEast Province. Many factors went into these decisions including the citizen feedback poll, my personal experience working with them on various projects and a mandate to get and keep both of them in official office.

FionnMcCumhall will be named to the Northern Province as soon as that province has another city. My personal feeling is that must happen very quickly. It is seriously underdeveloped and within the Capital's reduced corruption range.

All Department Leaders should respond to these 2 polls:
Confirmation for donsig to SouthWest Province (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36190)
Confirmation of Cyc to SouthEast Province (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36191)

Trade Report 270 BC

Trade Agreements
Local- Horses near Tlaxcala, Iron near Morgana, Spices near Morgana

Import - none

Export- none

Trading Cities
Bavaria
Eklektochititlan
Valhalla
Octavinium
Morgana
Dacula
Tlakcala
Penguin
Kuhkaff
Bremershaven
Strider's Haven
The Burrow

Unconnected Cities
New Falcon's Nest
Palanthus
Padmativa

Can Trade With
None

Can't Trade With
All nations

Additional notes:
A harbor in Morgana will allow possible trade deals with Japan, which has a harbor in Edo.

There are 3 connected incense things east of Eklektochtitlan but they are not within the culture radius of any city and a few tiles away from the borders. My opinion is to build a city there so the whole nation can get incense. There is an unnconected incense west of Dacula that is 1 or 2 tiles away from Daculas borders. My opinion: increase culture of Dacula so incense will fall within radius. There is also iron east of the Gem Mountains but that is a way away. We are better of taking Iron from Japan.

There is a settler/spear pair heading to the incense. It is the last of the instructed new city locations from Domestic.

The poll to switch to Monarchy in the upcoming chat is overwhelmingly in favor. LINK (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37117). All Leaders and citizens should make plans with the knowledge that we will be entering anarchy en route to Monarchy during the next chat.

Shaitan

Another luxury should lower our anarchy time by a turn. Please decide which luxury to acquire. The deal should be made on the turn before we go to anarchy.

Nov 22, 2002, 12:54 PM
shaitan there arnt really any deals which we can make without being extorted to get it i believe one is a luxury and horsies way to much IMO and then another was a lux and some gpt another way to much so i dont think we can do it

Shaitan
Nov 22, 2002, 01:06 PM
Please find what the actual trades will be. Both civs are far enough away where giving them horses won't have an effect on us. Also, try for a horse + lux for a lux + gold. This will save us an entire turn of anarchy. 100% of production, research, everything. It's worth a bit of a sacrifice.

A poll for the worker isn't necessary. You may need to appropriate the funds from the treasury though (budget thread).

Turn chat announcement

Octavian has already stated that he will be unable to act as DP at the coming TC, and I am not willing to start one at 3am. As such, I have decided that if I am the elected president come 00:01 GMT, I will be rescheduling the TC for 00:15am GMT, 2hours and 45 minutes earlier than currently scheduled. Since it will be sunday by that time I will arguably be within my rights to do so.
