I hope my computer can handle a large map. Last one I tried took too long between turns I got bored and played my next 10 games on tiny maps :)

I can't handle standard maps, :- I hate starting, and finding out my capital is four screen inches from someone else's. grrrrrrrrr. As for small and tiny, I've never even gone near those. I prefer nice spaced out games where you've got room to develop. I don't think I'm going to do too well on this one

This one looks good. Its my first GOTM and my first new Civ 3 game since May (I've just played a bit of my old HOF game which I was milking but have given up on). Monarch isn't too hard, and large maps are nice. Aztecs aren't too bad either. The militaristic trait is always nice and religious is amazing.

This is my 1st Monarch game I've pursued beyond 1000ad. Are they always like this - I had to build loads of archers to project power/survive. This had led to a serious defiect in techs. I knocked everyone off the continent but the Chinese flipped a city back. H-graph is 2300+ arooud 1925. Any suggestions about how to do better?

Installing PTW doesn't replace original Civ3 files, so you can still launch vanilla Civ3 via the old Civ3 shortcut "Play Civilization III". Civilization III and Play the World shortcuts are in different folder in the Start Menu.
