I am curious to get everyones take on the new community features.

Global MP - Internet and Play by Email
Local MP - Hotseat and LAN
Share Scenarios
Compare Scores
Acheivements
Fansite Access from in-game

I am glad the kept Hotseat, for one. I know many people argue against its point, but I like it for running through the game with multiple civs (different perspectives and allows me to experience more at once). Acheivements is cool (I don't go cuckoo over acheivements, but they can be fun) and I am interested in the sharing aspect... and what we will be able to share. I am curious about how the fansite access will work. Will it open up an internal or external browser?

How about you?

You play hotseat by yourself? Thats meant so you could play if you have someone visting your house and they want to play but you only have one network capable computers.

Where is the law that says that you can't play it by yourself :D

Seriously, though, unfortunately, most of my friends don't play Civ... no matter how I try to get them into it. They just aren't as sophisticated as me ;)

So, how does anybody else have any thoughts on this or is it just me?

Of all my gaming friends, I'm the only one who plays Civ (It's not a FPS or WoW, so it must not be fun), so having a built in social networking feature would rock, IMO. I just wonder how well done it will be.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. :)
