Mongols (turn52)

Scout must pass through Ottoman territory to return home, no offense meant by this action.

We have replenished our SoD and will move against Kiev again in a few turns.

Save to SB.

okay, no worries on the scout Oh Noble Mongol Khan.
(I think we all know how tempting scouts can be... :) )

No news to report for us. Another glorious temple was erected in the far quarter of our empire and now we look to create a meaningful trade system.

Guys I have to be at a conference tommorow and may not be able to post another turn till saturday...

Got save from SB...no worries on your turn. Have fun at the conf...:)...Germany produces more military units and moves our swordmen towards the front. Our first division of Swordmen is wiped out by a Russian steriod-enhanced group of Spearmen but the Second Alpine Division finds success. Our complement of spearmen have fortified just outside the walls of Moscow while three more divisions are ready to cross the Alps and join our settler who is one turn away from being in position to found "Weinland"...on to Joe

Mongols 53

Hmm... We have to sidetrack and frag a couple barb camps, so Kiev will wait another round or so.

Scout moving past Berlin, no cause for alarm... :mischief:

Save off to SB.

Mongols 54

Barbarians pay the ultimate price for wandering to close to Mongolia.
All 3 got thwacked! :hammer:

Building some settlers to "fill out" areas to the east, since this is becoming "little Afghanistan", a barb camp breeding ground.
Plus there is ivory there... :groucho:

I am at a loss for a strategy at this point. Are we merely going to attack each other or allow the game to progress for awhile?

Please let me know what your intensions are. :)

Save to SB.

Germany builds Weinland!! Our swordmen take up their positions in the new city and great ready to0 move out towards Moscow. Our wounded division of Swordmen hightail it back to Weinland. Our people have slaved themselves to death to produce another settler so that we might found another city to the southeast as per our plans. As Germany stated in our manifesto, Weinland represents the northern most expansion of Germany and that our plans are to expand to the southeast away from everyone. While we may be a military power our forces are being mustered for defence and security, not offense...:)...on to Joe

Forces amassed, the attack on Kiev resumes next turn. 3 more veteran swordsmen will be finished next turn as well, then a new wave of settlers shall begin.

Save to "5 day". :D

Back on the scene, crispy and clean...

Turn 55. A new barracks goes up, civil unrest ends in our capital when we throw a free concert, the Sultan follows the news of the sack of Kiev with concern over a warlike world...

Germany on...Our race towards mechanized might continues as our three complement of swortdsmen race towards Moscow. Our Spearman in the field deftly pulled up camp and retreated towards thge untapped iron in the nbearby hills in order to draw what appears to be the last offensive weapon in their arsenal. Our commanders hope that the Swordsmen will be bale to lay waste to the unsuspecting Russian division of Archers

Go on and click the link. There is nothing there to show that I was banned. I was shocked to discover I was banned without being able to find anything in the threads or no PM notification. I had to find out roundabout from TF why I was banned.

So I talked it over with the concerned parties and things seem to be smooth now. I really don't want to be banned and I don't like it. When I cursed out Fearless Leader I knew I deserved it and I won't be personally insulting anyone again. Now that AoA has explained what bothers him, I hope to stay out of his crosshairs for good. Which leaves the one mod who I must always fear, the one who is dying to catch me in a "farting bob" incident: Chieftess!;) :p

I like you editorials and humble opinions, Sultan.

Careful with Mauiduck. I would not have given him that city that had the iron source. It is obvious his own people are terrified of him and his warmongering. That is why they ran to you for help. But you turned them back like another feeble leader, Chamberline, did before the the onset of WWII.

Remember your history. Tyranny must be stopped.

Au contraire, mon frere. I don't really like to divulge state secrets, but even less do I like having my statesmanship called into doubt. As a matter of fact, the Ottomans have magnanimously leased the captured iron back to the Germans, who have not yet flipped a city to us. Thus it is that we establish a bond of friendship and ensure that, should war break out between our peoples, we know what city the Germans would have to take if they wanted to resume building iron things.

Normally I wouldn't want to say all that but it seems like Maui has gone surfin, on safari to stay!!!:D

Ok. I must have missread the original post. As long as you actually have control of that city and just "leasing" the iron to the Germans that's good.

That city will be a flash point if those pesky Germans don't find another source of Iron.

Flex.

P.S. You guys have a good game so far. Well balanced. One warmonger, one pacifist and one middle of the road.

Turn 56 is off to Maui (are we in a time warp?!)

delighted to have the ball rolling again. The Ottoman Sultan has taken an interest in reading and ordered the construction of libraries in two cities. Also today, a group of people move to settle our southern coast, to be the first new city in a long time, while Imperial Auditors brace for a possible explosion in corruption...

Game to Maui.

Round 57- In keeping with the times, the city names of our easternmost cities have been changed to "Bhargash Welcome Center" and "Weapons Inspector Base".

We have also founded a new coastal city.

We have also just pop killed a citizen in every city.

We are also desperate for the technology called "Map Making".

I see you have been talking to our Military Strategist! ;)

I am resending the map offer because I fudged the controls when I was trying to do the straight up trade*. Wait another turn and I will have a tech to offer you, although somehow you seem to be way ahead of us on tech already

*Alright because I wanted to rename the city called "Future Invasion Bay" across the straits from your ivory... ;)

Germany congratulates the Mongols on their vicotry but ask that Moscow could be left to us. Our troops seek vengance for the ill words spoken by that Commie Cathy The Huge. Our swordmen have successfully drew the lone Russian archer division into an ambush that ended with their demise. Our three divisions of Swordmen coupled with a division of speamen now approach Moscow and with only one division of spearmen guarding a half-starved Russian city, we feel confident that our troops will be staging an Octoberfest inside the city walls very soon...on to Joe

Hold that map trade!

The Ottomans are pleased to announced through dilligent research we have been able to enact a Code of Laws.

Our legal experts will share their expertise with our neighbor civs (provided they have something more to offer than the paltry 2 gold that Catherine insulted us with!). The Sultan is said to be particularly keen in learning how maps are made...

Our treasury woes continue, and if some micromanagement doesn't get done soon we are going to have to start decommissioning swordsmen...

Germany asks that the Ottomans reject the trade offer made to it by Germany as it was an accident. Germany has beheaded the diplomat resonsible for making the flawed offer and is interested in making a worker for money trade at the going market rate. Germany dispatched more Swordsmen to the Russian Front and our settlers have moved to the region south of Weinland to build a city there to seal of the gap. Our two diuvsions of swordmen and one division of spearmen have moved towards Moscow while another division of Swordsmen will join up with them for the assault on the city. Once the Russians have been purged from the city, our troops will pull back to Weinland as a show of good faith to the Mongols that we will adhere to the provisions as laid out in the German Sphere of Influence Proclaimation. Moscow will be German but only act as an oupost and way for us to complete a trade network with the Mongols in the future. Game On To Joe...

War has been declared on Germany. 5 legions of Mongol swordsman approach Weinland, with catapults, archers and spearmen.

Cash-strapped, the Sultan was not amused by the Mongol interpretation that we were just going to give them Code of Laws. The offer is sent back again, hopefully it will yield some kind of response, we are eager to trade...

Our poor finances also meant we had to grab the deal the Germans put before us, in order to increase science to more quickly reach the technology of Currency.
I have adressed my intentions in private communique with the Chancellor, hopefully our eagerness to snatch the dough will not be a problem. You will get your worker...

Our first soldier was decommissioned and there was a general inquiry throughout the kingdom to see where citizens were shirking their duty to bring in gold. Things are a little better for us now but we still run an unconscionable deficit. Unit production has been delayed and prebuilds for markets put in place.

Joe if your email has changed I hope you informed Maui where to send the new save, as I have just sent the game his way.
