Waaay to early, obviously. But it could be fun to guess what they'll add in or expand on after the initial release of Civ V, based on just the first list of details released.

I'll go with...

Civilization V: Jihad!

Maybe not quite politically correct enough...

How about Civilization V: Crusades. I'm sure many here feel that religion is the obvious and influential aspect that vanilla Civ V is going to be missing.

In that spirit, I'm going to go with CIV V: Atrocities. They could bring back all the wonderful features of Alpha Centauri like nerve-stapling and nerve gas and UN Sanctions.

heh, the future last expansion for civ5 could be like:

The ancient world of Octavianus

(as to prepare us for octagons of civ6) ;)

Civ V Ancient Times (with the Return of Persia, Babylon, Sumer, Maya....)

And the ability to begin in 40000 B.C.

You can move your "settlers" but can't settle until a certain tech is available. During all that time you collect fruits, vegetables, you hunt animals, you can build units, do war with other nomadic tribes for the control of ressources... you can do things in order to increase your research, you can grow until you have to master different tribes, so then when you have the settling tech you can settle several cities at once...

Civilization 5: Rebellion

Adding Religion, Espionage, Guerilla warfare, and general Manipulation of populations (offensively and as something you have to deal with)
Also adds in advanced Alliance features where multiple civs can unify (similar to the Permanent Alliances, but with multiple players)

Tamed
Mar 10, 2010, 05:49 AM
Civilization V: Veritas

Brings back religions, religious civs that were left out of the game, and adds the usual expansion fluff.

good guess
my guess is to bring espionage in first EP and religion in 2nd EP. religion might also be replaced with mythological elements. so firaxis would get less complaints, if that was why they removed.

1st EP: Civ5 : Deep Lords
2nd EP: Civ5: Beyond The Sky :p

Based on the new hexagon map and the more realistic way of territory growth:

Civilization V: Way of the World or Civilization V: Axis of Dominance

Based on the increased emphasis on diplomacy and the strategical importance of city states:

Civilization V: Power Projection or Civilization V: Grand Bargain

Based on the one-unit-per-tile rule and the heavily tactical nature of combat:

Civilization V: Point of Attack or Civilization V: Central Command

Why "Veritas"? Better then would be Civilization V: Subjectio ;)

I don't think they're going to make an expansion pack for religion or espionage. They're looking to make a different game than Civ IV, not just re-add everything they left out in it. I think an expansion pack, if they even release one (maybe they'll just go the DLC route) will focus on something different than previous versions of Civ.

However, we might see an expansion pack for corporations -- I think that makes more sense than for religions in Civ V since corporations don't dominate diplomacy, plus it'll work with the multiple resources counting for something, like they're doing with the strategic resources.

well, i admit i agree with this. i don't think esp and rel will come back.
i just wanted to generate games according to common expectation of esp and rel coming back.
and i don't know what they will bring as extra feature in EPs neither. GGs were good additional features for warlords. and corps were fine with BTS.
still, i believe they were weak additions/features. or let's say they were good creativities but should be improved.

Civ V: Stack Combat Revisited

Civ V: The Zealots

Civ V: You want your country represented in the game? Then dance for me! Dance!

Civ V: Oops, we decided to sell you the map editor

Civ V: Lets sell you a bunch of free user-created mods!

Civ V: The Gathering
(A "collectible" version with specific DLC, where you pay $3 for a new faction, $5 for scenarios, and $10 for scantily clad female leaderheads.)

Civ V: Agronomy
(includes a much more detailed agricultural model, where food production varies over time based on soil temperature, rainfall, fertilizer use, crop rotation patterns and so forth).

Civ V: Gaia fights back
[Drastic global warming from industrialization, earthquakes, volcanos, meteors, zombie outbreaks, etc.]

Civ V: Supply Chain manager
[Introduces a detailed economic model, where instead of commerce you have to produce individual goods and services, and micromanage trading them internally and with other cities in order to generate any actual income.]

Civ V: Wall Street
[Introduces a complex set of financial instruments to the game, where you can leverage your cottages and factories to produce amaaaazing returns, at no risk! Really!]

Civ V: Cold War

With the significant changes to diplomacy and social policy system, maybe it's time we finally see some sort of Cold War gameplay. Civ V is not going to recycle the same expansion packs from Civ IV, and I don't believe they're going to introduce religion or espionage because, like they've said, they have new things they're introducing. I believe this is the new diplomacy and social policy system (formerly civics), so it's the perfect time to create a Cold War expansion pack. This is something that would get me really excited as well.

pls stop that. i am really bored of this "dollars for new civs" issue.

EPs would only sell good if they bring new real (impossible to be modded) improvements. me and other posters told this many times in many other threads.

I think "surviving freedom" suits best.
