I thought it'd be best if we had a map poll.

Personally, I liked the global highlands map script used in the last pitboss game, so I voted for that. :) I've also become a fan of the Donut map script, although I'd like to have extra land filled in rather than have peaks or ocean in the center.

Multiple choice is enabled, so users can select their favorite 2 or 3 map scripts.

I will second Global Highlands, but I would say from the outlay that Wheel would be a bit better than Donut only because I think you can reach anyone without going through some other civ's territory.

Thanks for voting. :)

Looks like I should have made this a public poll. :crazyeye:

Although there is an emphasis on having "fair and balanced" (like some news channels...) starts. One of the best parts of Civ is the randomness of the maps. That's why I voted global highlands. I'd much rather a slightly less than even but interesting map with chokepoints etc... than a map in which all civs are created equally (but some are more equal than others;)!)

Global Highlands does have that randomnes element which, along with its peaks, makes it intriguing for me. :) If it's like last game, I imagine that peaks may loosely separate each civilization's land.

We should probably let this poll run for an extra day or so, or until the administrators pressure us to give out a decision.

Whoops, it looks like I forgot an option here. Apparently, we were supposed to either select one of the five maps above, or select the "give map maker free reign" option. But any of these maps will be altered by the map maker anyway so I'm not sure how much it would affect the final map.
