pap1723 Nov 07, 2002, 06:13 PM Because I released the new version, I want to start a new playtest here also. I still want to finish the other game, don't get me wrong, it is still a lot of fun.
Go here for the new versions of the files...

voltar Nov 07, 2002, 09:26 PM I would love to be in this. Another crack at the British if you take me.
pap1723 Nov 07, 2002, 09:28 PM The British it is, and I do owe you an apology for saying that your defense of the Isles was flawed. It was just that Britain was in a real bad spot.
Pap
voltar Nov 07, 2002, 09:35 PM It's OK. I did kinda mess up, I had never played Britain before in the scenario in single player. I wasn't ready for it, but now I think I can handle particularly with the new changes. Thanks for giving me another shot.
The Sun shall never set on the British Empire.
pap1723 Nov 07, 2002, 09:38 PM I had to fix a few things that slipped through Quality Assurance, so the QA manager, Pap, has been fired. If you already downloaded the scenario from my website, you need to download the below attactchment.
It is not big, it is just the actual scenario file.
Pap
CSL Nov 07, 2002, 11:10 PM i already told you.........just put that Pap on the Gallows!
Also i take the Yanks
CSL Nov 08, 2002, 02:16 PM *bump*
mordhiem Nov 08, 2002, 03:17 PM I'll take the schemeing Japs then.
sas Nov 08, 2002, 03:51 PM damn, i wish i had the time. I'm simply playing too many games :(
pap1723 Nov 08, 2002, 03:55 PM Mordheim, you're in, start whenever you want, you don't have to wait for all the spots to be filled.
Pap
CSL Nov 09, 2002, 07:42 PM got drop guys, barely have any time, im finding that i've got more important things to do.
Darius Nov 09, 2002, 08:14 PM Just so you all know, I'm willing to be in both the 0.6 playtests, but only when the original ones begin to end. I was already at my limit of games a week ago and then I joined the eight-game Bonoparte tourney as a favor, so I'm too stretched to do five games of this time-consuming scenario.
If you are willing to wait (or if you have to), I'll be here. It looks like the civfan game will be over relatively soon, HB as well. Apolyton will probably last a long time though, but three is still better than five.
voltar Nov 09, 2002, 08:16 PM I say we just shot the old in the head. It's done, the British are finished, Russia is cracking, America isn't ready. We're done.
Darius Nov 09, 2002, 08:21 PM I'd be willing to end it but only if the others are.
Aravorn Nov 10, 2002, 03:20 AM I agree, Kill the old and start a new. Then I may play a new one but only if it is more balanced.
Darius Nov 12, 2002, 07:57 AM Aight Mordhiem, you can play the Jap turn anytime. I call the Soviets btw, the last couple of days have been so slow on both forums I guess I can manage to start playing in this one now.

Well guys the old is still going and unlike Darius, I dont need to be in any more PBEM's right now so Im out, if you need someone in the future let me know but Im afraid I couldn't keep the two versions straight right now. Boney Tourney has my head spinning currently.:D
Darius Nov 12, 2002, 09:29 AM I thought you weren't even in this one. Are you saying you are leaving the other game?
mordhiem Nov 13, 2002, 04:40 AM The usual blitz, though not quite as effective this time around. Those new AA batteries in every pacific city really chew up my ampibious attacks.
Cities captured include: Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Tarakan, Manila and Guam. No advances on the Chinese front. US navy obliterated at Pearl Harbour, also a carrier contingent north of Midway was found by pure luck and sunk by a submarine (might want to move wither the carrier stack or th sub Pap ;)).
pap1723 Nov 13, 2002, 09:07 AM Thanks for the idea Mordheim, I think I will move the carrier.
It'll give the Americans something to actually fight back with after the first turn of annihilation.

No Im just going to play in the old one, I would have played in this one but one game of this scenario is enough for me right now with the Boney Tourney going on. However when Pap comes up with the final version I want in. In the mean time Ill play the USA in the first one and continue my comments to help out Pap.:D
pap1723 Nov 14, 2002, 03:04 PM Axis advance throughout the Soviet Union!
Panzer divisions smash further into the Soviet Union and with combined bombing and artillery bombardment, the Axis made some gains into Soviet territory.
In North Africa, there was an attack on the defenses in the subrubs of Alexandria. Anti-Aircraft guns were destroyed in the impending attack of Alexandria.
Cities Taken:
Kharkov
Sevastopol
Novogrod
Do your worst Darius ;)

Aravorn Nov 15, 2002, 06:47 PM Just curious who is in this one and are there any spots open?
Choke Nov 15, 2002, 11:05 PM I'll take Russia.
pap1723 Nov 15, 2002, 11:19 PM Choke, I think Darius may have claimed Russia already?
Pap
Choke Nov 16, 2002, 12:32 AM Oh, I just looked at the top and saw an empty slot, in that case I guess I could take China...
Darius Nov 16, 2002, 04:53 AM Originally posted by Darius

Choke Nov 17, 2002, 01:31 AM Well update the top post, argh!
pap1723 Nov 17, 2002, 11:28 AM Choke, you are up.
Pap
Darius Nov 18, 2002, 10:04 AM So pap, is the second .scn file on this thread needed if I download from HB and not the old site? I'm confused.
Choke Nov 18, 2002, 04:35 PM PEKING CAPTURED!!!
The mighty Republican Army has liberated the capital! His Excellency President Chiang Kai-Shek (seen below) had this to say "We will never surrender, never retreat, I will take a rifle for myself to fight the barbarian invaders before I give an inch of ground. Peking shall never fly the cursed Rising Sun again."
http://www.newton.mec.edu/Angier/DimSum/dimsumimages/China%20Large%20people/chaing1.gif
Hanoi Emptied of Barbarian Troops
Republican Air Force bombers decimated the barbarian garrison in Hanoi and it is expected that northern Indo-China will be liberated next month. General Song, head of operations in the southern theatre, is quoted as saying "We will drive the barbarians from the mainland of Asia, we will not be content until there are no Japanese residing outside Japan."
and the turn:
Choke Nov 20, 2002, 09:13 AM BUMP for Voltar...
voltar Nov 20, 2002, 02:13 PM bump for Voltar... ya right. That info up top is wrong it's America's turn.
pap1723 Nov 20, 2002, 07:38 PM Voltar is right, don't know how I screwed that up, it is the Americans turn.

Pap
academia Nov 20, 2002, 10:22 PM Academia is, I'll call it for him before someone else does.
Well, it seems that is my turn in this PBEM... and i didnŽt know that i was playing it :crazyeye:
Ok guys, iŽll use USA one more time :goodjob:
academia Nov 20, 2002, 11:21 PM Ok. Some japanese vessels sank in the Pacific Ocean; and some nazi subs in the Atlantic.
Choke Nov 22, 2002, 05:36 PM ttt
voltar Nov 22, 2002, 11:19 PM error
voltar Nov 22, 2002, 11:21 PM Britain lashed out against the agressors in December. Upon hearing of Japans atrocious strike at Pearl Harbor and their many strikes throughout the south pacific. Britain declares war on Japan and prepares to repel the invaders.
A few minor actions against the Japanese result in a sunken submarine and transport.
In Europe Britain saw a great deal of success.
Bergen has been bombed and captured by an amphibious British landing force. Several German submarines have been sunk in the Atlantic, as well as a cruiser.
In Africa Britain saw the greatest sucess of all. Advancing German troops outside Benghazi were eliminated. Benghazi itself was strafed by RAF fighters with defending infantry, artillary and a few planes destroyed. In the mediterannian British ships operating out of Gibraltar has destroyed aforce south of Marseille with 12 units destroyed, another force west of Naples 7 units destroyed.
A cruiser outside malta was sunk. Two german Bf109s above Corsica have been shot down.
pap1723 Nov 25, 2002, 12:35 PM Voltar, try re-posting the save as Darius cannot pillage correctly, it might be a corrupt file, that is why Darius hasn't been able to play yet.
Pap
Darius Nov 25, 2002, 01:52 PM I don't see how his save could have anything to do with it, but why not.
Choke Nov 27, 2002, 08:42 PM Bump for finding a player for Russia or Darius being able to play or something.
Choke Nov 30, 2002, 01:38 PM Does anyone mind if I play the Russian turn?
pap1723 Dec 01, 2002, 01:47 PM Go for it Choke, just so we can get this thing moving a little bit.
Pap
Darius Dec 01, 2002, 07:34 PM Why doesn't he just take over Russia permanently?
pap1723 Dec 01, 2002, 08:04 PM No objections here.
Pap
Choke Dec 01, 2002, 11:23 PM I guess I could take over Russia, of course if someone else wants to play Russia later just say so...
mordhiem Dec 02, 2002, 09:23 AM Play on.
pap1723 Dec 04, 2002, 01:39 PM BUMP for Choke!
Pap
Choke Dec 05, 2002, 07:23 PM Sorry, I've figured out that I have the same problem so I can't play the Russians either, I think there must be something screwed up with either the save or the scenario.
pap1723 Dec 06, 2002, 01:29 AM It works for me, so I am going to post my Game.txt and my Labels.txt files.
Perhaps I sent a corrup file out or something, I don't know...
Pap
Choke Dec 06, 2002, 01:02 PM Nope, still doesn't work :(.
Darius Dec 06, 2002, 08:04 PM God, is something stupid like this going to kill a scenario? :( There has to be some explanation.
sas Dec 07, 2002, 03:14 AM is everyone running the same Civ2 version?
Darius Dec 08, 2002, 02:08 AM I confirmed that CivII isn't even the issue, because the problem does not happen in any other scenario folder.
sas Dec 08, 2002, 03:57 AM I guess this means that Pap needs to go through every change he made in the new version and see what could have caused the error.
Aravorn Jan 15, 2003, 08:17 AM The answer is just make sure you dont use a punctuation mark in the name of the scenario folder.
Giga ver06 is OK
Giga ver0.6 is NOT OK.
Windows recognizes the period as a file extension and does wierd things to a scenario?
But you guys would be better off to start a version 9 PBEM. Should be playable by this weekend. (January 18th)
Darius Jan 15, 2003, 11:06 AM Why'd you even dig up this thread? :p
