Congratulations on your appointment as Governer from the Cartographic Office.

Upon review of the City Name Registry, I see that you have not yet registered a name. While it is not necessary to do so, it does ensure that your name will not be passed by.

Please remind your deputy, that he or she will be eligible for these rights as well and should register his or her city name with our office (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34519).

Governor Fionn, we are critically short on spearmen to relieve our sword garrisons as well as horsemen for our Japanese offensive. Please take this into consideration when determining your build queues.

I strongly suggest building spearmen and horsemen for the future upcoming war that we are going to expect for the Japanese offense :).

i am happy to see i made it to the mayor of morgana. a new city thread will be opened soon!

i thank all citizens for their support, and i want to congratulate octavian for the competition. it was propably a tough choice for most citizens in that poll, which is to be seen in the number of abstain votes.

i recommend octavian for another mayorial position, in regard of his outstanding mayorial work and as i do not think people voted against him because of the skills, but because they wanted a change.

Governor. May I direct your attention to the fair city of Dacula. We are six (6) turns away from a crisis and I believe it should be addressed now rather than later.

Dacula is currently building a Library which will be finished in six (6) turns. It has 1 Happy, 2 Content, and 1 Unhappy citizen and will grow in six (6) turns. As you can see, at the same time that the library is completed, the city will grow and we will be faced with another unhappy citizen which could potentially lead to riots.

Also, there is a proposal to redirect the settler currently in Eklektochtitlan to the dyes down south. The plan is to change the production there to a settler to resettle the incense fields in the southern part of the province. This will leave a significant gap between the "dye" city and Eklektochtitlan.

I believe that we have the potential to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. Let Eklektochtitlan build its settler, but let's move it south between the "dye" city and Eklektochtitlan. We should change production in Dacula immediately to a Settler to settle the incense fields. There will be no loss in shields in Dacula and it will eliminate the potential crisis.

Fionn... Yes you do have control over the building of settlers.... Once their built through. It's domestic's job to place them.

CivGeneral
Nov 15, 2002, 11:47 PM
I just had a conversation with 40J. Apperantly you can build a settler.

By building the Settler we can prevent the city from a civil disorder. Luckly Dacula is not a Border city Nor is it on the front line. I support 40J's Idea of building a settler.
More details on to place the built settler will be further discussed in the Domestic Thread ;).

No, you can't directly control where they're placed, but you can make a proposal. That's what happened with the settler redirect from Spice City to Dye City. A new settler was proposed in Eklektochtitland to carry out the spice job while the original headed south. The plan was well accepted.

You can do the same here. Propose that the EK settler go south for fill in duty while Dacula produces the settler for Spice City.

Redirect the redirect plan. ;)

Hello Governor!

Today i come to u with an urgen inquiry:
We miss a citizen... Where did it go? In the last save we were 4 people there, now we are only 3! Was one starved to death? Or sent away?
Please start investigating where it went.

And a urgent request:
If one of our citizens is switched from the 2-food tile to a water-tile, we will earn 2 more gold!

And Other things:
* I update the pictures and stats in the city thread...
* I started discussion on our build queues in Morgana.

Queues:
Discussion: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37148

I request the queue to be given to the military leader to optimize our military production to our needs until the above discussion came to a conclusion.
If you dont like that, we should put horsemen in there. Maybe alternated with Pikemen.

The poll to switch to Monarchy in the upcoming chat is overwhelmingly in favor. LINK (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37117). All Leaders and citizens should make plans with the knowledge that we will be entering anarchy en route to Monarchy during the next chat.

@Shai: Sorry, cant find it but i know they were there. Never mind, on with the story...

@Fionn:
URGENT: we MUST switch 2 citizens!
according to the following image:
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads2/morgana-rearrange-50BC.jpg
one from the 2 food-tile to a watertile with 2-food+2 gold
one from the forest with 2 shield+1food to 2 shield+1 food+1gold
if setup is according to my image, we will gain additional 3 gold/TC without loosing anything!

One of the citizens can work on the ocean tile to increace the food production. :). This should help Morgana grow.

@CG: see post above yours... :-P i meant sending a worker to improove tiles. i dont have the time to check what would help things... btw: the food production wont change with the ocean-tile, as one of our citizens already works on a 2-food tile and we dont want to cripple the production potential of morgana.
i need a worker-planner here :-)

I see ;). Well then, we need to irrigate the land on where the forest is present. Since we dont have the power to harnes lightning. Then we need to chop down 2 tree tiles and irrigate them. since it will be the only way to increace food production to Morgana.

FionnMcCumhall
Nov 25, 2002, 05:02 AM
I moved the workers to the ocean tiles, until we can irrigate the area near morgana. Ive somehwat ignored the poll dis, sorry but i think a mix between pikes and horsemen are good, pikes to reinforce our cities with only 1 spear or none (we are gonna need them to guard cities taken in war as well) and horsemen for the war.
@dis nice mod you got going for your civ3 game :D

@Fionn: Yeah. Indeed is is a bloody marvelous mod.
To which ocean tiles did you take the workers (can they swim? _-)
Maybe a map with worker-assignment for our province would be nice...
Also to the morgana queue: This is why my polls were setup as informational. They shall be used as guideline with the flexibility to put emergency changes into them. Also the poll must be up a few more days to become conclusive, i think we could easily take up a split approach with bavaria producing spearmen and morgana producing horsies... maybe another city could take a barracs to help production... ?

Pamda,

I too have conserns about the city of The Burrow and the city of Padmativa. I would recomend that once a pikemen has been built that we should build a library to counter the potential threat of a Culture flip by the American. The Library will do us good by doing two things. One, The Library will help our science efforts and Second will keep the Culture flip at bay. I shall grant the approval via the Turn Instructions Thread due because of the Early Bird Turn Chats.

if we temporarily (or maybe even permanently?) get to work on that game tile (we coul moove the 1-food/2-shield there) we can speed up our growth from 11-turns to 4-turns (if i calculated right).

also we should ensure we have a irrigated tile nearby till then so we can feed our additional citizens.
