I wanted to know what would you consider the best studio album released by Nirvana.

Options:

1. Bleach (1989)

2. Nevermind (1991)

3. In Utero (1993)

The hype around Nevermind actually makes it less attractive than Bleach. It only became big AFTER Nevermind. I also consider Bleach to be more "organic".

It's a tough call, and I haven't listened to either album in full in about 2 years, but I'm sort of leaning towards 'In Utero'.. It has so many great tracks.

Having said that I don't really remember 'Bleach' all too well.

Unplugged - but that doesnt count. So in utero.

Ugh, it's been a while. My first instinct was Nevermind, but after glancing over the tracklists I went with In Utero.

All things considered, Nevermind has the best songs on it. Yeah, it's over-produced and pretty poppy, but it's weakest track (IMO On a Plain) is much stronger than the weakest tracks on any of their other albums. FWIW, Heart Shaped Box is my favorite song overall though.

Nevermind. No contest.

All the kids that said they liked Bleach more than the other albums back in the wee old nineties were the kids desperately trying to be more hip than anyone else by claiming they knew Nirvana before they got big, yada yada same old story.

Where are Incesticide and Unplugged? I prefer those :)

They aren't studio. Incesticide is sort of a compilation of EP tracks, demos, etc., and Unplugged is live.

Nevermind. I like all 3 quite alot, but thats way above the rest in terms of songwriting.

I'd say In Utero, but it's very close.

In Utero.

Good songs on all the albums, but it had by far the best production for thier sound.

Of those three, easily 'Bleach'.

I almost only listen to the songs on "In Utero" so I really only have one choice. ;)
