Ok this is my attempt for getting the nobel peace
prize.

What are the chance's of getting you to to declare
peace. I cannot sit on the fence for much longer, over
the past few weeks i keep changing my mind on my
course of action, i have mislead or been undesive with
you both at certain times so i have decided to openly
declare support for one player or another.

As it stands i would have to favour NH for any
military support. But i would like for a more peaceful
solution.

So wildfire will you be prepared to declare peace, or
face both nh and myself?

nh are you prepared to accept peace and accept the
loss of Seville?

And the possible outcomes
Wildfire or NH does'nt want peace:
then we are at war. Spain and Carthage vs Persia. This
will weaken the whole continent to the extent that
Sashaddin could take an uncatchable lead.

NH and wildfire accept peace.
now this will take some resolving, i will have to
leave you guys to fill this part...as in what you will
accept for peace. But at least we can keep up with
Sash this way.

Yes, it appears that the people of Seville were rather disgusted with the treatment they got from their Persian rulers. Spain hopes that Persia will peacefully withdraw her troops from the "new" old Spanish territory, but if Persia does not wish to comply, then Spain is ready to remove those forces herself.

On a side note....don't you just love culture. :D

I am removing them as fast as they can go. I could've just attacked the flipped city and taken it back. For once, the mighty Persian leader was trying to show a good side.

When my turn is done and I try to save, the "Spain declares war on Persia" appears and the game crashes. I think we should try to replay the last turn we have to see if that will happen again.

I think NH should be the first one to replay the turn, that way we will have a full turn to be certain nothing bad happens.

Maybe there is some kind of auto-move that forces you to declare war automatically. I know there was a bug about submarines that did that. What you could do is cancel all of your previous auto-moves, that way we could be sure it won't happen again. Since I am the last player, all end-of-turn movements happen just before the file gets saved, that's why I think there could be some kind of auto-move bug involved. Other actions that act as a declaration of war: settling in an enemy's territory, pillaging enemy improvements, destroying a colony.

This sucks (especially since I was leading :D )

I had severe problems with ddpp pbem. COuldn' t access F1 screen anymore which is quite annoying when you wanna adjust tech/lux rate. 'Solved' my problem by downgrading from 1.27 to 1.21 after trying numerous replays, other OS and stuff.

I don't think I ever "upgraded" to 1.27. I don't know what the rest of you guys are using. As far as me declaring war on Persia, I don't know how that happened. I don't have anything on auto-move and I don't have anything near his borders. Nor did I manually declare war. The only thing I can figure out is that maybe he attacked me and it caused my nation to auto-declare war against him? But I don't see any of his units close enough to attack me. I'm not sure what is happening. We may just have to declare Sash the winner since it is unlikely we would have been able to put differences aside, band together and beat him anyways. And that is what it would have taken for him to not win.

Maybe its a prophecy of a coming war :p

Upgrade, AFAIK we are all on 1.27...

Hmmm...what does 1.27 fix? As far as I know, it causes the F1 bug, which is not in 1.21. So I'd recommend you guys downgrade.

Well we could give the sav file and admin password to one of the members at Civ Duel Zone (PBEM ladder, see link in my signature)...they might be able to play through the turn for us. then we can go back to 1.27

if there is version issues, maybe Sash, you could down grade to 1.21 just to see you can get through the turn. Otherwise i think our best bet is to give the sav to a neutral third party to look at it.

Ok i have have sent the sav file of to some PBEM experts.

NH is using PTW v 1.21
Digger is using PTW 1.27 WindowsXP (sometimes Win98)
Wildfire is using PTW 1.27

I believe I solved that one for you guys.

Persia and Spain are at peace now for 20 turns but no crash happens anymore I have played through all of your turns.

It was what we call a Peace bug coming from one of your earlier wars, you must have exchanged something for peace some time ago. I got no time to really investigate.

You might want to recheck your build orders as I had to replay some of your turns...There should be no big change though no worries.

on the 1.27 and 1.21 issue.

Although both patches have interchangeable save files there is one great difference between them that heavily affects gameplay.

When you mobilise in 1.21 you can finish non military builds in your cities that alrdy started but you don' t get shield bonus military units get. Apparently there is an exploit that allows some kind of infite shield production in one turn so they changed this in 1.27.

When you mobilise in 1.27 you can finish non military builds in your cities that already started AND you get the extra shield bonus on them too. Just imagine what happens when you start a wonder, say ToE, and mobilise in 1.27. It builds like in a GA.

So you all better use one of the two patches when nationalism is available to keep the playing field level.

It works ok now, thanks a lot Skyfish. I have used 1.27 since it got out, I don't really intend to downgrade... especially since everything works now ;)

One turn a month schedule. My guess is the average game takes 175-200 turns.

175/12 = 14,6 years to go. So when we all are playing Civ6 you'll be wrapping up this game. :D
