I've been working on a scenerio in which I have changed the rules a little bit (is that what you call a mod?). Well so far I've made a couple changes, they include: Cuise missles can be loaded on nuke subs, nuke sybs have two capacity, Palaces and forbidden palaces improve luxury $, Stealth fighters act as real FIGHTERS by being able to fly air superiority missions and destroy other planes, stealth bombers can load one nuke or cruse missle, and some other modifications too. Well the trouble is I've been trying to get helicopters to land on Carriers and once the stealth bombers got missle carying capabilities they could not load on carriers either.

If you could help finish those two things so that my scenerio would be done I would greatly appreciate it!!!

BTW if you do try to change it take into consideration I placed a civilization on an island by itself in order to test some things out.

If you decided not to change it, but to play it feel free, you just might want to change it so stealth bombers CAN'T load missles and getrid of that country on the island.

Here it is!!

Umm how do I upload it? The attach file thing isn't letting me attach a .bic file!

You should attach it as a zip

I am afraid that units that can transport, can not be loaded into other units. It is hardcoded into the game and there is no way around it.

Not what you wanted to hear, I know, but at least now you can consider your mod finished.

an army is a special situation. They don't actually qualify as a transport.

:ponders: Going with the army, what if you tag the stealth bomber or helicopter with the army tag, just remember to tag unload to, so you can actully unload things :crazyeye: Would that work?

Genius! But does it work?! And will the AI know how to use it?

It doesn't work. You can't unload armies.

In doing all these changes you have to make sure and change what the AI does with the unit, or you will be the only one with the capability. For instance, you can make Carrier a land unit and you can use it to transport Jet Fighters all over the desert, but the AI civs will never use the unit that way, because there is not any AI strategy option for any kind of land transport. This is fine if you want to play on higher difficulty settings and give yourself a compensatory edge but it feels inauthentic. Unlike land Carriers.
And what you're doing is a scenario. A mod involves more than changing editor settings: it involves adding to the files installed with the civ3 game itself. There's an art to puristic scenarios though. See my "Realistic Mars" in the Scenarios forum. I think that's about as far as you can stretch it.

Thanks, I'll try the army thing. If it doesn't work I'll screw the whole Stealth bombers being able to load missles. Thanks any way! If you're interested in this SCENERIO (thanks for the clarrification Tholish) I'll post it in this thread ASAP!!!

Thanks for all the advice guys!:goodjob:

Just to let ya all know, I would listen to Kal-El. While he is no messiah, he is well versed in the ways of CivIII. He did after all, have his mod included in the PTW pack. Anyhow, he is human and completely capable of fault, though I do think he is right in this catagory. A lot of people have been searching for ways to load transports in transports to no avail. Just a little thought, i'm no messiah either :).

Is this already on the PTW wishlist? May want to add it if it isnt.

Thanks Scipio,

I am definitely no Messiah, as you said, but like you also said, I do have some experience. ;) I have been working with the editor for almost a year now.

Just when I think I have hit all the deadends and hardcoded issues I run into another one. We added 6 new citizens to the mod, but for some unknown reason Firaxis has the european culture read the popheads file differently than the other 4 culture groups so you get an overlap with the Euro heads and the specialists. Hard to explain, but frustrating as all get out.

Sorry for the rant.
