This was a week after I had a bike accident, and only 2 hours after having the sutures I got after the accident removed from the underside of my chin. I'm not supposed to shave the area around the scar for at least 2 more weeks, hence the nascent goatee.

(This is also after only about 3 hours sleep the night before, in part because of homework due that morning but mostly because of crying over the rejection of my first serious attempt to ask a girl out.)

Continent of Asia =/= what you think of when people say "Asian". For me and most people I know Asian -> people from East or Southeast Asia.

I love these horse things and ride them anytime I can. When I was 19 or so, I was in Verona, and I was riding on one. A group of german tourists looked shocked at around 20-year old playing there (there were no children, btw), but soon one after another they joined in, and started using the swings etc. It was really a nice sight, to look at all these old people having fun. I freed them :trophy:

I'm trying to decide whether or not to keep the goatee. I started growing it after my bike accident 7 weeks ago, as I was not to supposed to shave near the injury on the bottom of my chin for at least 2 weeks after getting the stitches removed. By that time I had gotten a few compliments on it, and so did not opt to shave it yet.

Last time I went home my mom recommended shaving because she thought the scar more more identifiable from the lack of hair growing from it than from its pinkish coloration. Since then the hair above it has grown long and thick enough to hide that from most angles. My dad (who has worn a full beard since I was about 9 years old) liked the goatee look, and thought I should keep it.


I have my second meeting with my Senior Design sponsor on Thursday, and was wondering if it might look more professional to go clean-shaven. On the other hand, it does look better now than it did at our last meeting, which took place on the day which the doctor said is the soonest I should even consider shaving (and on which taking the time to shave in the morning would have made me late for a class on a day that attendance counted for a grade). Having a full and clearly intentional goatee in later meetings might cast what was little more than the localized stubble at our first meeting in a better light.
