Well, after a long wait, it's here: the Egyptian IS3M. No, it's not perfect, but it's close enough for me. I looked at it in game, and it's a little too big in some directions. Also, some of the angles are off. If anyone wants to make it better, please do. You can read a little bit about it here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36076) in the preview thread. Umm . . . if there's a problem with the .zip file, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Well, enjoy it.

Here's an updated .zip file. It has Stainz's improved Pediaicons and unit_32 icon.
Download. (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads2/IS3M1A.zip)

Here's an in-game preview.

Well this really is a nice model. Maybe you should work a little more on your FLC's :D. You really can do it. That's the same you did, but with 2X or 3X more frames. Think about it...

And I really like the screen shot ! Your baby is looking good near my babies !

hey utahjazz, i think this is a great unit, the only thing that i would change is the fact in the attack animation theres no smoke or anything, but other than that its AWESOME, im putting it in my game as soon as i finish the one im playing now,

Yeah, the flc's are short, but they work okay in the game. At least they did when I ran my test. Even the run animation with its lack of movement is okay. My biggest problem was creating the proper sizes and angles with Rhinoceros. I did my best though.

Well, I tried to make my unit as nice as your units. Hmm . . . I came up a bit short. Hey, if I make another unit, maybe I'll improve there.

Well, I tried my hand at creating smoke in the attack animation, but it wasn't lookin' good. Plus, the East and West animations didn't have room in their frames for smoke extending beyond the barrel, and I didn't want to squeeze it in.

Well, I just wanted to say a little somethin' somethin'. I went back and looked at the unit in game some more. I compared it to all of the tanks in all of the directions, and it really doesn't look, at least to me, that out of place.

It looks a lot better in-game than in FLICster, the wonderful tool we all know and love--especially the run animation.

Just wondering if there is going to be a re-make of this unit fixing the little problems found, or if it is final? If it is final, I will add to my site as is.

The size and directions to me dont look bad (from screenshots), but i havent seen the animations to criticize them.

Finnaly, though the animations need a little push.

Well, I think it's going to stay as is. Unfortunately, I don't understand how to make flowing, complicated animations. If I did, I would love to improve these, but I don't.

i thought i posted these last night. guess not ):

well here you go utah, hope these help out and maybe give you a little more insperation (sp) to create more units.

EDIT: utahjazz has included these .pcx files with the main file, so there is no need for me to keep these up.

That's why I tried to find someone to animate it for me. These animations work though.

Stainz, thank you for the icons. The units_32 icon looks a lot better! I do have a design in mind that I'm looking to create when I find time. For now, I have two week in which to write two papers for college--then I graduate!

it,s my pleasure to help out when i can. i just thought that a unit as nice as this should also have good looking icons in the game.
i also read in your Readme, that you were dissatisfied with the ones you made, so i did these up. i,m not saying that what you made wouldn,t have worked, but... i,ll just leave it at that (:

anyways, good luck with your schooling and can,t wait for the next one.

Wow, what can I say . . . I'm flattered. I am the coolest! ;) (The "winking face" means that I really do not consider myself to be "The Coolest."

Thank you. If you want to see really great units, search for units by Boulboulgadol. His are the best--bar none. Most of the tanks in my screenshot are his creations.

Utah im currious, what do you use the T55 for in your game? I noticed you have the T55 and T90.

I use the T55 as an intermediary between the Tank and the Modern Armour (T90)

I use the T55 as a flavor unit, replacing the tank for Russia--the T90 replaces Modern Armor. That's it. That's really all I use any units for: flavor. Except that I used Kinboat's excellent crusader unit as Poland's unique unit. Actually, I'm thinking about replacing the T55 with the Russian WWII tank provided with PTW; although, I think the WWII units shipped with PTW are not up to par with the original units.

By the way, good luck with your tank. I saw the preview thread. I just have no idea what that tank looks like in reality, so I can't really help you there.

In my mod, I will use the T34 as Russian flavor unit for tank, and the T90 for modern armor.
The T55 will be for Russian equiped armies (Irak for instance), ad a flavor for modern armor.

That's a good idea. For me though, the T55 just looks too Russian to be used for another civilization. It looks like it should be on parade in Moscow, or any other equally Russian city.

Except T55 have been sold to a lot of countries, but I think the Russian have kept T90 for them.

Hey, has anyone actually used this unit in a game? I was just wondering what y'all thought about it outside of "FLICster, the program we all know and love"--yes, I plan on always referring to that program as such. Well, let me know if anyone has. People, please . . .

I don't doubt that you're right. I, personally, just prefer to keep the T55 as a tank to give a little "Russian flavor" to the game; I'm not really looking for strict historical accuracy. Thanks for the information though.

I have this little scenario called "unit testing" i test all my unts there before using them in a game and it works fine.

Well, first thank you for the compliment on how my tank looks with all the other modern armors. Now about the quotes . . . I too struggled with this issue for a while, seriously. Then I noticed something in the right-hand corner above each post. There's a button that says "quote," or something like that. Just click on it. Between you and me and everyone who reads this, I felt a little silly after "discovering" the button.

No, I was not being sarcastic when I said it took me a long time to figure out how to quote. I just was too embarassed to ask anyone how.

I just like comment on things, i know from experience how irritating it is when people wont comment on your work.
