Chieftess Nov 30, 2002, 11:05 PM Congrats on another successful Eklektikos/Octivian campaign!
Cyc Dec 01, 2002, 12:23 AM Welcome back Mr. President, and Mr. Vice President.
Octavian X Dec 01, 2002, 05:50 PM One of these days, Ek, one of these days...
I am recalling a joke made by a former US Vice President...
'There was once a pair of twin brothers. One ran away to the sea, and the other was elected Vice President. Neither was heard from again.'
Ironically, I don't remember who made the joke...
Eklektikos Dec 02, 2002, 12:09 PM Turn chat schedule for this term is displayed in the first post. This will be updated as the term progresses.
Bill_in_PDX Dec 07, 2002, 12:00 PM Is there still a turn chat tomorrow Mr. Prez?
I didn't see the thread for it.
Eklektikos Dec 07, 2002, 12:56 PM The latest Turn Chat Instruction thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=38588) has now been posted. Apologies for the delay.
Eklektikos Dec 09, 2002, 05:31 AM Turn chat schedule in first post has been updated.
FortyJ Dec 11, 2002, 04:55 PM Please direct your attention to this request for worker actions (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?postid=647893#post647893) in the Southwest Province.
While I do not approve of irrigating over my extremely productive mined tiles, I do recognize the need for irrigating this so these cities can grow to their largest potential.
Chieftess Dec 14, 2002, 06:59 PM Eklektikos, where are you? There's no turn chat instructions thread.
Shaitan Dec 14, 2002, 10:08 PM Will the President or VP please post the chat instruction thread?
Thank you.
CivGeneral Dec 14, 2002, 10:13 PM Eklektikos has finaly posted the TC thread :). Thanks Eklektikos ;).
Dec 15, 2002 TC Instructions (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39215)
Eklektikos Dec 15, 2002, 01:38 AM I have posted a three part poll regarding utilisation of our Great Leader: What should we use Richthoffen for? (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39230), if the FP, where? (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39232) and if the Palace, where? (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39233) Please vote in all these polls ASAP if you wish to make your voice heard before tonight's turn chat! :)
Chieftess Dec 15, 2002, 01:27 PM Thankyou.
Shaitan Dec 17, 2002, 09:08 AM Mr. President: Your posted schedule has runneth out. That's not a big problem as last weeks' schedule is then used by default. What is a problem is the lack of an instruction thread for tomorrow's chat turn. Please put one up as soon as possible.
Mr. Vice President: If you see this before Eklektikos then you should go ahead and post the instruction thread.
Eklektikos Dec 17, 2002, 12:54 PM New instruction thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39461) has been posted. Schedule will be updated accordingly in a minute or two. :o
Eklektikos Dec 17, 2002, 01:02 PM Turn chat times until the end of the month have now been added to the schedule in the first post. :D
Shaitan Dec 17, 2002, 02:34 PM The "Gem Mountain" province has 4 Fanatikan cities. We need a new governor!
Cyc Dec 17, 2002, 04:32 PM The schedule looks good, Mr. President.
Cyc Dec 19, 2002, 11:37 PM I'm really pissed now. I just got back from our last save and was inspecting Kuhkaff, where I noticed some fool had changed one of the workers to a mountain and was only bringing in one shield. This bumped the growth cycle from 10 to 19 turns. Quite a whille after the completion of the Aqueduct.
In Demogame1, I had to continually check on the growth rate of Khatovar as the immature DP's we had kept trying to stunt the growth of the city for personal reasons. I was constantly having to tell them to stop doing that and put the city on growth. It real makes the game a drag when you have to keep putting up with this ****. Grow up, people. Leave your grievances in the toilet where they belong.
There was no reason to switch the worker to a mountain when a hill would have produce a shield and food both. I don't know about you people, but when I play Civ3 I don't have to keep checking on my cities because I'm worried the AI will switch the workers around when I'm not looking. I can see a reallocation because some improvement was done or the city had grown, but niether one of those occurances happened.
I don't know who does this ****, but grow up!
Eklektikos Dec 20, 2002, 01:10 PM I can faithfully promise you that I have not done a thing to the tile organisation in Kuhkaff. However this hardly absolves me entirely, since I could have spotted it during the preturn, and indeed should have done in the absence of any tile optimisation instructions from the governor. Please accept my apologies.
Cyc Dec 20, 2002, 01:56 PM Apology accepted.
Chieftess Dec 23, 2002, 07:21 AM  Why weren't my instructions followed! I asked for Morgana to be micromanaged at turn 6! Even FortyJ requested that the next DP micromanage Bavaria to remove the shielded forest, and for Morgana to work the forest. Even Penguin isn't using the coast like I requested after the settler!
FortyJ Dec 23, 2002, 09:49 AM Chieftess
After the settler was produced in turn 1, all laborers were working the coastline as requested.
Unfortunately I had to leave shortly thereafter and was not able to attend to the other micromanagement issues that occured later in the game (the new laborer in Penguin after it grew in Turn 4 and the return of the forrested tile near Morgana after the completion of the Marketplace in Bavaria).
However, I'm sure we will remedy these situations now that you've brought them to everyone's attention. ;)
Shaitan Dec 23, 2002, 02:26 PM "Sugar & Spice" is now an officially defined province and has the required number of active cities. A governor should be appointed poste haste.
Shaitan Dec 23, 2002, 02:28 PM The approval Council Vote for "Gem Mountain" province should also be posted as soon as possible. Both of these officials will be eligible to run for President and nominations begin shortly.
Eklektikos Dec 23, 2002, 09:37 PM Applications for the Governorship of the "Gem Mountain" Province are now open (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39968)
donsig Dec 25, 2002, 11:50 AM Is this perhaps a good time to discuss when a change to a republican form of government would be beneficial for Fanatika? Most countries are now republics with only a handful of monarchies left. Are we being left behind?
Shaitan Dec 25, 2002, 06:46 PM We need to determine if Republic is worthwhile at this time. I'm basically neutral as I like both government types but each has benefits over the other. If we want to build, we need Republic. If we are going to continue warmongering, Monarchy is preferable.
Octavian X Dec 26, 2002, 12:21 AM This idea of switching to a Republican form of government intrigues me. That is why I have started this discussion (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40085) on the subject.
donsig Dec 26, 2002, 07:10 PM Is it possible to trade banking for gunpowder without a formal turn chat? Both the Zulus and Iroquois will trade us gunpowder for banking straight up. (We can also get 2g from the Iroquois.) Once we get gunpowder we'll know whether anyone has chemistry. If so, we'll have to decide on whether to try to buy astronomy or chemistry or both.
What would it take to be able to enable the President to officially make the trade for gunpowder and post a new save?
Chieftess Dec 26, 2002, 08:09 PM A citizen discussion perhaps. You seem rather quick to jump the gun. (pun intended).
Shaitan Dec 26, 2002, 10:52 PM No, there is no contingency in the rules for the President taking an offline action. This has come up before where we need basically a single action to open up a slew of options. This could be a very good contingency rule, if properly presented and approved. Until that time the actions must take place in a chat. :(
donsig Dec 27, 2002, 09:34 AM So it has to be in a chat. The President has a chat, makes the trade and ends the chat. The next question becomes, How quickly can we sqeeze in a chat? The chat scheduling is covered by the CoS. Should the president (or anyone else) get PIed for breaking the CoS, the severest punishment is a warning.
If I were president I'd make a quick poll authorizing the trade and a special interim turn chat to make it.
I think there would be unamimous support for the trade itself though some would oppose the interim turn chat on principle. We've already lost one turn chat due to these tech trades I for one do not wish to lose another while we return to the forums to decide what to do after we get gunpowder.
Bill_in_PDX Dec 27, 2002, 01:07 PM Discussion of a "quick chat" law has been opened here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40179
donsig Dec 29, 2002, 10:53 AM Well, a quick poll was posted about trading banking to the Zulus for gunpwder. It did not receive a negative vote and reached quorum rather quickly. Next turn chat is over 24 hours away. It is a shame that this trade hasn't already been done and a new save posted. Our toughest opponent should not be our Three Books. :(
Bill_in_PDX Dec 29, 2002, 06:19 PM I made an attempt to get something going on a change, however, it was met with disdain and contempt. I am through with trying to change anything.
Shaitan Dec 29, 2002, 07:17 PM On the contrary, Bill. The idea was good and we've looked to the root of the problem and we know how to fix it. See the latest posts in your thread.
donsig Dec 29, 2002, 07:48 PM I agree with Shaitan. I think term 5 (with its lower quorum) will see the first constitutional change in DG2 history!
