gunning1 Dec 01, 2002, 12:29 PM The first thing I will do is appoint Strider as Chat Rep. :)
gunning1 Dec 01, 2002, 12:33 PM So what should we research next? Right now we are researching Chilvary and by this poll (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36267) it looks like the people want to go for Military Tradition in the long run...So what do you think?
gunning1 Dec 02, 2002, 04:53 PM No discussion?

Should I be honored?
Also.... You might want to start a discussion over what we should do whenn the lose the effects of the GL.
Cyc Dec 02, 2002, 11:48 PM Well, I voted Military Tradition as well. Not because I feel it is the most important tech, just that I think we should head there directly and build the Academy.
disorganizer Dec 03, 2002, 02:29 AM @gunning: you need to post an approval poll if you want strider as chatrep. he needs to pass that poll.
FortyJ Dec 03, 2002, 11:35 AM Gunning
I'd like to suggest that you modify your t/c instructions to include additional technologies (or at least a link to the science queue poll). It is quite likely that we will receive Chivalry next turn from the Great Library.
gunning1 Dec 03, 2002, 04:15 PM Ok, that's done. :)
Fier Canadien Dec 03, 2002, 04:19 PM The honorable science minister should make plans it the perspective that Fanatika will soon loose the benefits of its Great Library. Just to be prepared if we get Education sooner than we hope.
Chieftess Dec 09, 2002, 09:33 PM As you know, the benefits of the Great Library are lost due to Education. I am asking science if there are any possible tech trades that we can make.
gunning1 Dec 09, 2002, 09:50 PM Well, when I can download the save, I'll check for some trades. Oh yeah, Congratulations for entering the 4,000 post group! :D
BCLG100 Dec 10, 2002, 03:03 PM yes out of interest i have been doing all science trades for the past 2 terms who is actually meant to do them?
gunning1 Dec 10, 2002, 04:12 PM The trade person. (You) :)
gunning1 Dec 10, 2002, 04:27 PM The only two that I could find that were not like 30 gpt were America: Education and 195 gold (too much) and Russia: Education and Furs.
Chieftess Dec 10, 2002, 07:45 PM Remember, we are at 0% science. If we did research, say, 50%, that could very well be like 30gpt that we don't have. (i.e., if we made 50gpt at 0%, we'd be making 20gpt at 50%). It's like letting others do the research for us while we... expand.
BCLG100 Dec 11, 2002, 10:28 AM well the thing is wasnt it decided in the first term that science did trades because there was so much confusion over it
donsig Dec 11, 2002, 10:43 AM We could try to buy invention. As you all know it is very cold in Russia and they would gladly give us the secrets of invention if we export furs to them and give them the secrets of our educational system. If we did this we could also give our education system to America in return for dyes. Perhaps someday we could sell dyed furs to the Russians? We could make those two deals and then sell incense and furs to Rome for 16gpt, WM and 50g. We could then turn around and buy Babylonian ivory for 16gpt, WM and 155g. We currently have 4 luxuries in our connected cities and have the ability to build markets. We currently have 5 unconnected cities, mainly in the northwest. Tarkingrad is our sole non-northern unconnected city. We should also consider giving education to France and England. We do not want them getting too far behind America!

Shaitan Dec 11, 2002, 10:46 AM That sounds like a fine plan to me.
gunning1 Dec 11, 2002, 03:57 PM That sounds like a good deal to me too.
Eklektikos Dec 15, 2002, 01:19 AM I have posted a three part poll regarding utilisation of our Great Leader: What should we use Richthoffen for? (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39230), if the FP, where? (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39232) and if the Palace, where? (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39233) Please vote in all these polls ASAP if you wish to make your voice heard before tonight's turn chat! :)
CivGeneral Dec 15, 2002, 10:46 PM Gunning, May I suggest that we bost our science rate so that we can get gunpowder faster and quickly get military tradition.
Thanks,
Grand Admiral CivGeneral, Govenor of the North Provance and Acting Military Deputy.
donsig Dec 15, 2002, 10:56 PM That may be a good idea, Grand Admiral CivGeneral, Govenor of the North Provance and Acting Military Deputy, but the Domestic Department is in charge of setting the science rate.
FortyJ Dec 16, 2002, 08:27 PM I have conducted an analysis on raising the science rate and posted my summary in the Dometic Department thread. I have also been asked to post that same information here.
Instead, I will provide you with a link to this post (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?postid=658812#post658812). I will also start a joint Domestic-Science Department discussion on this matter in the Citizens forum.
donsig Dec 18, 2002, 12:43 AM I think we should look into buying astronomy from someone. We can get it from Babylon for incense and 85gpt (or there-abouts). We could then sell it off to other countries that don't have it. We caould also declare war on Babylon afterwards and save the 85gpt. :D
CivGeneral Dec 22, 2002, 10:58 PM Gunning, as you know, we have discovered that the Zulus has the Gunpowder Advance we are researching on during the TC. I have notified the Trade Department since No deals have been made (Since I decided to stop the TC and figure out the best deal to get there gunpowder).
gunning1 Dec 22, 2002, 11:40 PM Yes, there are many civs with gunpowder now. I think all except England have it. The best deal that we could really work out in the chat was either I think 440 gold, incense, and 3 gpt or MAYBE 475 gold and incense.
donsig Dec 24, 2002, 09:19 PM We can also buy the printing press or banking or astronomy. Almost all the civs have these techs. Since we'll have gunpowder on our own in 16 turns we should consider just researching it ourselves and picking up a couple other techs. We can get printing press from Babylon for incense and 12g. We can also get astronomy from India for furs and 725g. We could substitute gpt for some of that 725g. Instead of paying the 725g we could pay 25gpt and 250g.
CivGeneral Dec 24, 2002, 09:29 PM That is true Donsig :). We can try to "Convince" the AI civ to agree to our deal :groucho: ;).
Donsig, I beleve the Trade Department would be egar to see this proposal also :).
gunning1 Dec 24, 2002, 09:34 PM Yes, I agree too.
donsig Dec 25, 2002, 11:59 AM How fast can we get gunpowder if we up the science rate for a while? We may be better off doing that and buying astronomy and printing press.
Chieftess Dec 25, 2002, 08:39 PM I urge science to look at my proposal here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=674983#post674983).
Chieftess Dec 28, 2002, 04:49 PM I would like science to sponser this trade (since the Trade Department seems inactive):
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40194
I'd like a poll on the last two trades. (the "1-for-1" deals).
Stuck_as_a_Mac Dec 28, 2002, 05:39 PM CT- If gunning does nothing, Ill just pop up this poll
gunning1 Dec 28, 2002, 08:54 PM I'm sorry, I've been gone for a while. I'll try to get it up soon.
CivGeneral Jan 01, 2003, 11:22 AM Term 5 Science Department is open :)
