CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

I am announcing the creation of a Fanatikan newspaper sort of like the Fanatical in the Civ2 DG. It will have a summary of each turn-chat and what happened during it. However, If the T/C is less than 5 turns there will be no paper/post. Also, the Fanatikan will cover the elections and government/ PI issues. I will need some help from people as I will not be able to attend some of the t/c's. The paper will be posted in the Citizen Froum. I know you may be thinking this is like Die Fanatischen Zeiten, but there are some differences. It is a free newspaper for the person who does not want to purchase a subscription because it is too expensive or for someone who does not play the RPG and just wants to know what is going on without having to pay lots of money. The added bonus is that I will pay you 5g/tc from my RPG account if you help on my paper. This is also to simulate a world like the real one where there are TONS of competing newspapers. Enjoy!

Here is a summary of all the positions:

Chief Editor: Runs the paper, edits all the stories and posts the paper on the forums.

Deputy Chief Editor: Assists the Chief Editor in his duties and takes over when the Chief Editor is absent.

Head Reporter: Gathers reports from the lower reporters and writes columns. Also writes stories for reporters that are away.

Reporter for Citizens: Covers citizen groups/ guilds and cities

Reporter for the Government/: Covers elections, appointments, Public Investigations, and anything else publishable that is in the Government forum.

Reporter from the Turn Chat: Covers anything that happened at the Turn Chat.

Reporter for RPG: Covers all RPG News

Attention all staff members: The deadline for articles to be published in the 12/8 issue is 9PM GMT on the 8th except for the t/c report, which is due after the t/c. If there isn't a reporter for the t/c, then I or CG will do it

OK, you've got the job, attention all citizens, we still need a Head Reporter and TC reporter.

If SaaM is doing the citizen discussions then I guess the head reporter will only be putting the newspaper together...I can take take both the Head Reporter and Government Reporter positions if this is true....

You are correct. I am taking away the head reporters duty to cover Discussions. From now on, he will put the newspapaer together and write stories for any reporters that are missing.

Great....I recommend that we make a seperate forum for the official Fanatikan Newspaper so that our readers dont have to scroll through the unnecessary posts. We can use this forum to help organize the newspaper...

BTW...I hope I get paid extra for writing the missing stories :lol: :lol:

What should I report from the RPG?

I am pleased to submit this:
Welcome to the first edition of the Fanatikan. Im your citizen reported, SaaM. In this
section of the paper, we deal with all of you, the Citizens of Fanatika. We cover guilds, groups,
PIs, Discussions, Ect.

War!!

As we all know, President Ekle refused to give into the extortion of Jerxes. (Note: the opinions expressed
by this author are solely his own). Jerxes wanted incense for nothing. How dare he! A spot vote was taken (0-9-0)
and the measure passed that we would not give into extortion. So what does Jerxes do? He up and Declares war on
us. Well, weve got a thing or two that we can do. The followings is the MoFA Plan to deal with Persia:

These steps would need to be taken in the order they are listed.

1. Establish an embassy with Rome. Give them education to join the war. An alliance with the Romans will provide immediate conflict for Persian troops making their way north.

2. Establish an embassy with the Zulus. Give them education to join the war, plus whatever else they would need.

3. Sign alliances with the French and English for feudalism.

4. Give the chinese education and whatever else they need to join the war. The decreased value of education at this point may require we give them some gold, but I doubt it.

5. Give India education and whatever else they need to join the war.

6. Give the Iroquois 331 gold to join the alliance.

This gives us 7 allies for very little money, and leaves only Russia and Babylon out of it. Hopefully, one of our newfound 'friends' will bring these civs into it. Further, because our military might is greater than many of our allies, the Persians will find it cheaper to get alliances against them rather than us.

If everything goes well, we may actually be afforded the time to annihilate the Japanese, since the Persians will be well occupied, as will everyone else. We should at least send a few knights to the Persian front to keep an eye on what is going on.

This is not a final proposal. Please let me know what you think.

City Names

Well, as we know, there are some people who register for the DG and never post again. Can you believe this!
Domestic, now ran by FortyJ, is working on a plan to get everyone a city named for them. But, we have many inactive users! The presidential election came back with 38 voters. There are 130 registered Fanatikan Citizens (give or take four or so Dls of Boris7). We have reached the end of our CoC for naming, so now its time for all of you citizens out there to stand up and say, “I want my city named ______”

Glorious Wonders
There is currently a debate on what/where to build our next Great Wonder. The debate can be found HERE (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=38250)
Many people want to rush the Sistine Chapel in a city TBA . This is due to the number of elite units we have roaming around Japan. This reporter supports this idea. He wishes to voice, however, that we must remember to also work on getting more GLs and we need a swift road to Military Tradition so that we can build armies and use all our Great Leaders on wonders.

Civanator, your job as the RPG reporter is to report any news related to the RPG forum. Be sure to post links to any important threads or events. Please submit it on this forum by this Sunday (12/8).

Civanator was banned from the RPG for duplicate logons and cannot do the PRG Reporter job. I will do the job for the time being. Also, I am changing the deadline until after the T/C. The new deadline is Monday December 9th at 11PM GMT. So SaAM I am afraid that article will not be published, but I will compensate you 15g for your hard work.

Dragoten I have decided to become the Deputy Chief Editor. I have edited my first post in this thread to state that I have made my dessision. I made my desision. And No I am not interested in swaping possitions, I am happy with Being Chief Editor.

Okay CivGeneral, sorry I just wasnt clear about your post. You said you needed to edit it so I thought that meant changing it to gov. reporter. In that case, I am sorry but I think I will leave the government reporter job and just be Head Reporter. I just dont have enough time right now :( At least we have another week to get a replacement.

Could you give a job description of Gov Reporter? I think I'm interested!

This newpaper is closed now that the DFZ is free in the RPG. Besides this has been dead for a while. However, I like your dedication and eagerness to work those who volunteeered and I will consider you for other jobs I may need to appoint people to further on.
