Being a newcomer to console RPGs, is this series any good? It seems to be the largest RPG franchise in Japan, so.... :confused:

I assume you mean Dragon Quest VIII (8) because Dragon Warrior VII (7) was released for the PS1 over a year ago. Also the site linked is for DQ 8

Yeah, it's gotta be 8. I heard about it at the developer's site (enix.com) - who also has a forum that I'm on. (I'm JLG2000 on that site). I saw it there about a week ago.

I picked up DW7 (english version) and even using a $30 gift cert towards it, I feel my $10 was flushed away. :shrug: I played a few "worlds/levels" and I just could not get into it... Never finished it, haven't played it in close to a year now. Actually a couple of days over a year now that I think about it. But that's my opinion for what it's worth. I guess anything other than Squaresoft is below my too high expectations. Doesn't make it bad or unenjoyable for others, just makes it second tier to me. Anybody want it? PM me.
