Hey Guys,

I was trying to build the Oracle in my current game but got beaten to it by another Civ, is there a mechanism like 'fail gold' in Civ V? I didn't pay enough attention to notice :dunno:

Cheers,

Sax.

yes, you get monetary return for the production spent failing wonders.

Yeah, it does seem fairly hard to build stuff. I have been struggling for gold in my game, should have tried to fail a few more wonders maybe :)

Owned at Warlord so decided to try King, much much tougher :) Am trying for cultural but don't think I am going to get it tbh ...

Apologies if this has been asked before, but let’s say I am in the process of building a Wonder and another Civ completes it before me. Where does the many turns of Production I spent on it go? Do I get a gold rebate or something? From what I have seen so far all I get is a prompt in the city that lost the ‘Wonder Race’ to pick new production, and nothing else.

Does anybody know what the conversion ratio from hammers -> gold is?

1 hammer = 1 gold when your wonder construction fails.

1 hammer = 0.1 gold when you "build" wealth

Yes, the issue has been discussed and mentioned in the "Issues" sticky.
