I'm away from home on a crappy laptop that can't run Civ V, but I wanted to look up some stuff in the unit XML file (CivVUnits.xml or somesuch)... Could someone kindly pop a copy of the default file on here?
I don't that imagine doing so would violate any kind of copyright restrictions...

I read elsewhere about someone getting a temporary forum ban for posting Civ files. Just sayin' ...

By the letter of the law, and ignoring fair use and similar doctrines, it certainly would be a violation of copyright... as in someone would be copying something they don't have the legal right to. Actually posting it publicly and persistently might even be genuinely actionable (IANAL, TINLA)
If you really have to do something like this, it might be best to do it via a PM (IAstillNAL, TINLAeither)

Nah, nevermind then. I'll be home tomorrow and it can wait until then... Out of interest now though, what is acceptable? Presumably savegames. Modded XML files in full? Or only the modded parts in snippits? etc.

Mods are XML that just lists the changes to the database, generally (well, UI and Lua mods can be more), so I'd assume those are completely unencumbered. Anything that has to be distributed to distribute the mod, particularly if they've indicated that they intend it to be modded, is also probably okay, but IANAL and I don't speak for this site in any way.
