My problem: In Civ MGE (only online) all of the names of techs, city improvements, wonders, even Civs are jumbled hopelessly. Settlers are called mech inf. and such. The real problem is with the techs, because I can't see what I am trading to other civs. The other guys have no problems with my stuff, so it is strictly internal. Another thing, I can access the Civilopedia and the names are normal. But when I click on info, it changes into the false name again.
I have reinstalled the game twice and put the patch on it both times. Still no results!!! Any suggestions???

It seems you may have messed up some of the important texts that are needed, hmmm all i couldn't say to fix it is reinstall the game, are you trying to play a regular game or what? a MP scenario?

Actually I kept downloading new patches (From MSN Game Zone, from CF, and from Apolyton) and finally got it to work. I just had to reinstall over and over again until it started to work. The patch I got from Apolyton did the trick for me, but I read a thread over there talking about how THEIR patch was corrupted! This makes me wonder if this is just some kind of random bug??? My friend has the same problem with his MGE, so at least I have a decent (although painful) solution for him.

i would say it has something to do with rules.txt, just check it out, as you scroll down, you will see all the unit names, you can edit there names from there.
