Well, it looks like I'm doomed to Civ 3 withdrawal symptoms until after the holiday season, and probably until mid February from the looks of it. I can't put my desktop back up until either A) the tree comes down, or B) we finally finish the addition on the house and have a permanent home for the computers other than the corner of the kitchen/breakfast nook.

I thought I'd be able to play Civ 3 on my clamshell iBook, but newp.. it only displays 800 x 600... and no answer on whether the A/V port on my iBook will let me bump up to 1024 x 768, which Civ 3 requires.

So, I'll just satisfy my addiction by living vicariously through your posts...

One good thing comes out of this for Brad though, I can't make noise about the editor while I'm not even playing! ;)

Well, for the sake of providing true but totally useless (or at least impractical) answers, I will add an option C.

C) you buy a new laptop.

All jokes aside, though, that's really too bad. Maybe you could choose to take the tree down sooner than you otherwise would have and at least limit it to the holidays?

(Note to self - increase noise level re: editor to make up for silence of Grey Randall) (Yes that was a joke)

:(

You would think the holiday season would be a time for joy! ;) Hopefully, others will play the OSG (:ahem: Beamup :cough:: cough: :) ) and give you some good stuff to read while you wait.

When do you guys in Florida bring down the tree? Jan. 1 at my house.

If I have time tomorrow morning, maybe I will. After that, though, I won't have time before I leave town - won't be back till New Year's.

We don't take the tree down until Christmas is completely over... after 12th Night. (Jan 6) not really a Florida thing, just a personal thing.

It's taking some getting used to being around in shorts on Christmas eve. Most of my youth was spent shovelling snow from November to April.. Don't know what to do with myself!
