Has anyone looked into doing any of the famous British ships from WW2?

Hmm, some of the more unfortunate ships of British naval history. Good idea btw.

:rolleyes: Oh they were good ships, just seriously unfortunate. I mean hit in the ammo-dump and *kabooom* there goes HMS Hood. HMS Prince of Wales racing to the rescue of Singapore with the HMS Repulse, Japanese air raid and *Kabooom*… Sad days for the RN…

Yeah i reackon a world war 2 mod or scenario would be great with single Battleship names as there were fewer than in world war one. I like ship names. I thought of doing battlcruiser units being sacrificing defense for speed which was the problem with the Hood then. But Price of Wales and Repulse were the sign of aircrafts ability to rule the sea which was quite sad then.

Of course you can just rename the existing battleship, or just put a big british flag on it and rename it in PTW

Well the existing battleship looks like an Iowa class and they are a bit too recent for WWII. We could do with an entirely different battleship for the British. Can you name your naval units in PTW? I havent got it and i cant do it with the original game, you can if you have a elite unit emerge victorious but this only applies on ground units i found. The only way i can name units is by building a scenario, and dishing out the units straight away.

Not sure what you meant by the Iowa=class being too recent for WW2. 4 of the 6 Iowa-class BBs were completed and fought in WW2, and the other 2 were canceled along with all the Montana-class BBs.

I just want flavor units even tho in reality, there were so many different classes of BBs worlwide that it is a shame to have just one type in the game. And I do wish the modernized Iowa had been finished that someone started.
