View Full Version : Basic Question - Adding Units

Civ3 1.29f, before anyone asks.

I want to add unit graphics as 'chrome', so that civs, as far as possible, have their 'own' units. I suspect if I dig around I can work out how to do that. (Add a unit, that is - I've seen that in various tutorials and such)

What I do NOT want is for these to be built by the other civs, nor do I want them all the be UUs and set off GAs all over the place.

All I want is for the Greek galley to look different to a Roman galley, with no other gameplay changes.

Is that possible, or will they become UUs if I restrict them to one (or several, I assume that is possible) civs?

Like I said, it's kind of basic - so much so, that I can't find it anywhere - too dumb for someone to have asked before, i guess!

Thanks in anticipation....

 you can't have your cake and eat it too:spank:

Sorry....... I'm being silly:mischief:
But what you're discribing is technically a UU.
and all that means is it's civ specific, it will act only the way you tell it to in the editor under AI stategy. generally speaking of course;)

OK, so they will be technically UUs. Will they trigger GAs?

Seems there must be a way to turn off the GA thing, otherwise all these lovely units for civ specific units are a bit of a waste. After all, you wouldnt want your scenario to start with a bunch of stupid GAs, surely?

Thank You :)

That's what I wanted to know before starting off on downloading units and working out what replaced what....

Now I have a holiday project to keep myself entertained :)
