OK, been a while since we had a modern quiz - seemed to metamorphose into a pre-20th century quiz. So, here are 10 assorted items of 20th century hardware - 2 ships, 2 aircraft and 6 ground vehicles. usual rules apply....

#7 must be a 'Fuchs' Transport Tank (there is also a NBC-version of the Fuchs)

Kennelly is correct - #7 is indeed a Fuchs. One point.

Crazy Eddie is spot on with #6 - it is a Stalwart. One point.
3 and 5 are both on the right lines, but not close enough I'm afraid.

5: It was also called a Bren gun carrier. I might have got the "Carden Lloyd" wrong though.
3: If it's not a Centurian I then I'll say Comet. It's definately a late WW2 British tank. What's the name of the tank behind it do you know, it's not one I've seen before. Is it some post war conversion?

Let's see,
#1 HMS Warspite
#2 B-47 Stratojet
#3 That is indeed a Comet
#4 Some kind of Japanese light tank
#5 Bren gun carrier
#6 Don't know
#7 Don't know
#8 AMX 13
#9 Tupolev Tu-22 Blinder
#10 Looks like a Dutch Frigate, but not sure

Crazy Eddie - yep, it's a comet, you beat AoA to the draw, so you get the point. I'm looking for something other than 'Bren Gun Carrier' or 'Universal carrier' because this one is a little special - it's different.
Hint - look where I live :)

AoA :
1 - Warspie - correct
2- B-47 - correct
4 - it is, care to name it ? :)
5 - see above
8 - yes, AMX-13
9 - Tu-22, correct (and it's a Badger behind it, I think, but I only wanted the Blinder)
10 -no, you're thinking of the Tromp-class Dutch frigates, I think, which do have a similar 'kojak' antenna. These are a little bigger ships.
so 4 points so far for AoA (and if no-one actually names #4 you'll get the credit for that one).

The only unidentified pictures are:
4 (partial answer given)
5 (close but not quite correct answers so far)
10

4. Sorry, the Type 97 was a medium tank, and had 6 roadwheels.

5. Umm, we're getting colder again.

10. Yes, Suffren/Duquesne class.. One point for The Art of War.

Scores on the doors

AoA with 4 points
Crazy Eddie has two points
Kennelly and
The Art of War with one point

Is the #4 the type 97 Te-Ke?
The only thing I can think of for #5 is it was made by Canadian Ford? (from your hint)

It had 4 road wheels:

OK, I'm going to accept Type 97 as the answer for #4. Art of War was first with that name, so he gets the point.

That means that with only one left to get, the scores are:
AoA - 4
Art of War and Crazy Eddie - 2
Kennelly - 1
which means that AoA must win, and I will therefore reveal the truth behind #5.

It's a Canadian-built 'Windsor' carrier. It's a development of the earlier 'universal carrier' but has an extra road wheel. It's semi-official name was 'modified T16 carrier' and was, as AoA guessed, produced by Ford of Canada. Some 5000 were built, but their use was patchy. I've got a number of references to this one, so I'm happy that it is as described.

Regarding #4

I'll freely admit to knowing virtually nothing about Japanese tanks, so can't really say what is the correct name. The site I got the picture from, here (http://www.battletanks.com/type_95.htm), identifies it as a 'Type 95' and claims it was in production from 1935. AoA's site identifies what looks like an identical tank as a Type 97, in production from 1937. It also indicates that the previous Japanese light tank was a Type 94, so the two sets of information are mutually exclusive.

Two people said Type 97, so the democratic vote says it's a Type 97. My apologies for the confusion.
