Introduction to Haven(Recommended reading of the highest degree - ignore at your own risk):
Haven. No one knows how the world was made, or why. What is known is that it is a wondrous place, springing straight from the mind of the mysterious god-being known only as the Progenitor. The lore of Geldar the Prophet states that the Progenitor's first act upon the creation of his world was to vanish into the cosmos, hunting down the "genesis" worlds of every sentient species in reality. He took some few of each, and brought them to Haven to protect them from "a great Evil". Over the next thousand years, Haven prospered, and the Progenitor created a new race - the Eldar. The Eldarin were beings of energy, entrusted to be the custodians of Haven against all darkness.
He then chose from among mortal men Eleven to be his Hands, the agents of his will. These Eleven, and the Eldar, proved a formidable defense against darkness. But that even was not enough - the Progenitor then took the greatest of the Eldar and trained them in his powers, his godlike magics. He then chose Nine of the dragons of Haven and made them gods, the Nine that would manage such things as the wind and weather while he concentrated on training his apprentices. This was the Golden Age, when all mortals united under the divine banner.
Fukouka changed all that. He was one of the greatest of the Eldarin, even before his training by the Progenitor, even more so afterward. The Progenitor left once Fukouka was fully trained, seeking "the great Evil, so as to confront it and perhaps avoid slaughter". Eight hundred mortal years passed. The Hands were immortal, as were the Eldarin and the Nine, and this was not so long for them. But when Fukouka was seduced by darkness and began to assemble the darker forces of Haven to his banner, the Golden Age ended in fire as mortals battled each other, seeking to overthrow one power or the other. The Hands and the Nine were overrun - and one by one, Fukouka killed all the other Eldarin, absorbing their power into himself. His advance became unstoppable when the Oracles - sorceresses of immeasurable power - joined him.
When the Progenitor returned to see Haven engulfed in a losing battle, he rallied the Nine and the Hands, gathered all the mortal armies, and went to battle. The Rotillar, as it is known, was the most dreadful night of carnage in Haven's history, with Oracles, dragons, mortal warriors and the Nine and Hands themselves fighting for what they followed. The Progenitor confronted Fukouka, and the two dueled as the massive battle raged around them. The Oracles were all killed, as were nine of the Hands. Queen Asrenna of the Oracles herself was slain by the Progenitor, leaving three magical artifacts to vanish into history. Fukouka was imprisoned for a thousand years by his old master - and so it ended.
In theory. Mortal kingdoms rose and fell for thousands of years, until Fukouka was freed by Alexander, the Deathmage. This sparked Haven's most destructive conflict yet - the Mage's War between her rival superpowers. Millions died. Now it is twenty years later, and Haven is coming to a turning point - noble heroes have risen and fallen in the all-too-recent Shadowblade Crisis, an order of noble defenders has been maimed, and criminal slavers run rampant over the Northeast of Haven's main continent.
A turning point has come - and there's no stopping it this time. Win or lose, Haven will never be the same again after what's coming.

WELCOME! I am Lighthearter, AKA the author of the WIP book The Last Prophecy, set on the planet Haven during the time period that the narration leaves off just before. Without further ado, here's the rules!

Retired Villain(Cannot be paired with Avatar) - +1 Morale, +1 Unrest among followers of Good deities
Politician(Cannot be paired with Commonborn) - -1 Unrest among the nobility, +10% Material research
B - Religion
Now is the part where you pick your religion. There are three main religions - which one you choose will affect which primary deity you can choose. Your primary deity is a damn significant choice - it affects what you can do as a nation without bolts of lightning raining from the heavens upon thee.
Religions:
Nineism - Nineists are EVERYWHERE, and generally tolerant of Progenitrists ruling them or living in countries they rule(there always are a few exceptions though). They believe in the undisputed gods of Haven - the pantheon of the Nine who often act to assist their followers.
Game info: The Nine will usually act to assist you if you need it, and choosing Nineism allows you to pick any one of the Nine as a Primary Deity of your nation. However, the Nine will never develop more powerful abilities, and the very rate with which they act in the mortal world showcases how weak these individual acts are.
Progenitrism - The Progenitrists believe in the Nine, as do all on Haven. However, they also believe in the Progenitor and Fukouka, the two "master" deital figures of the world. They are generally tolerant of Nineists in most places.
Game info: The Progenitor and Fukouka are FAR more powerful then the Nine, but they act only infrequently, having both sworn oaths to leave mortals to their own wars and each focus solely on each other. If you can get their aid though - your enemies are SCREWED. You can only choose the Progenitor or Fukouka as a Primary Deity if you are a Progenitrist nation.
Masterism - Masterists are rare, and those that are known are prosecuted mercilessly by both Nineists and Progenitrists. This is because the Masterists do not believe that the Nine or the Progenitor or Fukouka are deities at all, simply beings at a higher level of power then mere mortals. They believe in the "Eleven Masters" who supposedly rule all of reality, and not simply Haven.
Game info: Masterists are rare as hell. And no one is even sure the Masters exist. Even the Masterists don't know who these Eleven are. But if they ARE real, and if you do follow them, you have the potential to attract the most powerful gods in all of reality to your side. You may not choose a primary Deity at all with Masterism - until you discover the identities of at least five of them. You are told two via PM at the start based on ancient texts that the loremasters of your nation analyze. Others will be revealed by Arcane research.
C - Primary Deities
Nineist Deities:
Good Deities:
Alhandra, Goddess of Good
Alhandra is a Greater Dragon of the north, and the patron of all that is good. To accept her as your primary deity is to accept that you can no longer imperialistically go out a-conquering. Expect aid if you are defending innocent lives though.
Shockzhockshh, God of the Seas
Shockzhockshh is a Sea Dragon from the Madagarian Islands in the Great Ocean. He is old and wise, even among the Nine, and to follow him is to commit to protecting the seas against all those with darkness in their hearts. He does not leave his followers becalmed on the sea, however, so expect aid in naval battles.
Cel'aksh, God of Trickery
Cel'aksh is a Lesser Dragon of the south, and the lord of deceit. For all that, he is fiercely moral, and will use his cunning to battle those who would destroy Haven. He is the patron god of the Lesser Dragons. To follow him is to puzzle your way through messages in the form of incomprehensible riddles.
Evil Deities:
Chor'ric, God of Evil
Chor'ric is the twin brother of Alhandra, chosen to be the lord of darkness when the Nine were created at Haven's beginning. He does not gain any real pleasure from the mass murder of women and children for its own sake, but he does fulfill the tenants of his office. Expect to gain support for dark deeds:mischief:
Ripfang, Lord of Thoughts
Ripfang is a pygmy Greater Dragon, suffering perhaps from a Napoleon Complex. He is a master planner, plotting out deeds millenia in advance and using his detailed plans to forward his self-centered goals. If you are trying to take over the world, as long as you give Ripfang no reason - EVEN IN YOUR THOUGHTS - to suspect you aren't doing it for him, he's the one for you!
Neutral Deities:
Thalia, Goddess of the Dead
Thalia is another Lesser Dragon, the mistress of the underworld. She is very dangerous to cross, and those who worship her are regarded strangely in the mainstream world. She is also the youngest of the Nine, and perhaps the wisest save Cennet.
Amanshh, Goddess of War
Amanshh is a Sand Dragon from Zelkonia's deserts, who has never quite given up her predatory ways. She revels in warfare and combat, and will do most anything to keep a good war going. She is finicky, and may support your enemies to keep a battle from ending, but can bring powerful support to your side.
Cennet, the Moon
Cennet was the first Greater Dragon to arrive on Haven during the Genesis, and he is the patron of all his descendants. No follower of Cennet will knowingly battle another while the moon is visible in the sky. The dragon-priests of the dragonhold at Mount Okholt are responsible for maintaining the holiest of Cennet's holy temples. If you can control the Mountain . . . .
Shorzun, the Sun
Shorzun is the Watcher, a Greater Dragon set to maintain order on Haven. He is utterly focused around the law, and will uphold it no matter what.
Progenitrist Deities:
The Progenitor, Creator of all Haven(Good)
Beyond the fact that he is the only deity that is not a dragon of one type or another, not much is known about the Progenitor- not even by his own followers. What was he before he created Haven? Where did he come from? Why did he spend so much effort building this world? Again, no one knows save him and perhaps a select few he has entrusted, but perhaps that secrecy is in fact a shield from truths Haven is not prepared for . . . .
Fukouka, The Dark Lord(Evil)
Fukouka is the last of the Eldarin, the draconic race entrusted with the overseeing of Haven by the Progenitor. Fukouka was once the Progenitor's apprentice, but he was swayed by dark forces and abandoned his duties while the Progenitor was away from Haven on a quest. He rallied an army of shadows and demons, swayed mortals to his cause, and ran rampant in an attempt to take over Haven. The Eleven Hands of the Progenitor were unable to rally enough strength to stop him until their master returned and defeated Fukouka, at a cost of several million lives and the total destruction of the Oracles. Since then, Fukouka has escaped his prison and now spars again with his old master for Haven's fate.
D - Claims
You claim seven territories starting out. Every turn thereafter you can claim four. Designate one as your capital. It will be marked with a dot on the global map.
Note: If at any point in the process of nation and character-making you want to have accuracy to the book's geography/religions/characters/anything else, just PM me and I'll see what I can do.
2) - Heroes
Heroes are Haven's champions, for either light or dark. They will offer their services to those who they think deserving of them, but they aren't cheap. Heroes give bonuses to various areas, and can be used to cover weak points or to strengthen . . . well, strengths. To acquire a Hero, you must either spend $5 to try and attract one or have something special occur in your turn - I.E. a military victory or completion of a tech level. They might offer their services in such cases.
3) - Economy
VERY simple. Each territory is worth $1. Every tech level - of both kinds - gives you an additional $1. Unused money does not stack - use it or lose it. You are expected to manage your own economy.
4) - Technology
There are two kinds of technology, Material and Arcane. There are ten tech levels in each. Researching a new level takes $200. Material technology is like gunpowder and cannons. Arcane technology is developing new spells and new applications for existing spells. Both kinds of technology provide +1 Morale. Arcane technology might allow you to develop Endfire bombs - the ultimate weapon in Haven's arsenal.
5) - Warfare
Each nation can spend a claim point to instead attack an enemy province. Armies function that simply. However, to claim or invade a province across water from you, you must put a Navy offshore. Navies cost $2 to build and $1 upkeep, and are represented on the map with icons. If you move a fleet into a naval province and attempt to launch an amphibious claim or invasion and there is an enemy fleet there, you cannot launch until the next turn. Fleets cannot be built in naval territories occupied by the enemy.
Combat is handled by the GM rolling a D20 and comparing the number to the defense of the target. Attack and defense are both recorded as 10 + Morale. If the target is hit(the attack roll is higher then its defense) it is recorded and another round begins. Once an army takes two hits, the battle is over and it is destroyed. If there is no army in a territory that is invaded, the provincial militia only takes one hit and their strength is recorded as 5 + Morale.
6) - Other
You can Assassinate Heroes and Leaders of other nations if you want, to try and deprive them of the abilities those characters provide. If you are successful or not they may trace you - and the gods will know what happened. So if you follow the goddess of good and seek to assassinate another of her worshipers . . . just don't. If you know what's good for you, at least.
Victory can be achieved via three conditions: Conquest, Divine, and the Secret Victory. The Secret Victory is well, a secret for now:p. Conquest is where you and your allies control every province. Divine victory occurs if you suitably impress your chosen Primary Deity.
The map and player listing will be in the next post, be patient and let me get them up! I shall also REQUIRE a backup GM.

Lighthearter Dec 08, 2010, 07:14 PM http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/6677/havenraces.gif
Here's a rough guide to the various races of Haven and where they are.
Red = Zelkonian snake-men
Purple = Goblins
Dark Red = Greater Dragons
Bright Green = Elves
Dark Green = Sea Dragons
That Other One In The South I Don't Have A Name For Right Now = Lesser Dragons
Humans are assumed to be everywhere. Exception: Zelkonia proper. The Zelkonian mainland(where Sonereal spawned in) is free naturally of humans, but they do inhabit the islands to the north. Humans are so inferior genetically to the Zelkonians it ain't even funny- they are used as auxiliaries and slaves by the snakemen.
And goblins and Zelkonians are not automatically evil here. They have the same morality range as humanity. In fact, great heroes have emerged from both races.

-L
It's funny. The first thing I thought when I read "Zelkonian snake-men" was "evil demons hellbent on eating human babies". For those of use who can't imagine what snake-men look like, what do they look like?
Abaddon Dec 08, 2010, 07:23 PM How on earth did I become the quoted person there?!?
Sonereal Dec 08, 2010, 07:23 PM How on earth did I become the quoted person there?!?
I....have no idea actually.
Lighthearter Dec 08, 2010, 07:24 PM Hmm.
They stood like men, seven feet tall, but their bodies were those of snakes, while they walked on a quartet of legs. Two long, thin arms emerged from their upper bodies and triangular snake’s heads contained eyes with vertical pupils. Fangs protruded form their mouths, forked tongues tasting the air. They had scales, glistening in every imaginable color.
That answer your question?

Lighthearter Dec 08, 2010, 08:25 PM In that case change my claims to the 7 province elf country on the west coast.
Well Celt already claimed that area . . . soooo . . . and that wasn't even a country - just the area where Elves are prominent. Your claims in the goblin nation of Kepholon are still valid . . . .
All the areas outlined in black represent the areas of book nations.
-L
ilduce349 Dec 08, 2010, 08:36 PM 2 countries south of Celts. Celt didn't claim it.
Due to my incompetence I mistook the Elfs for the Dragons.
Question: Is there any gameplay difference between the races?
Lighthearter Dec 08, 2010, 08:41 PM 2 countries south of Celts. Celt didn't claim it.
Due to my incompetence I mistook the Elfs for the Dragons.
Question: Is there any gameplay difference between the races?
Not really. That's mainly for roleplaying purposes, though it might affect unrest in certain situations. And if you're referring to the littleish one on the coast, that's Ichondor. I'll get a map with names up in a bit.
:D What color? Or will you map out the claims?
-L
ilduce349 Dec 08, 2010, 08:42 PM I'll map out the claims once I know more about the light blue race (which is listed as lesser dragons for lack of a better name)
Lighthearter Dec 08, 2010, 08:48 PM The Lesser Dragons are reclusive, but fiercely protective of their strongholds. They reside mainly in the mountains, and can easily be befriended and allied with. They regard Cel'aksh as their patron, however, which means that Celt might have a better bet at befriending them. They are a society where the females are more powerful then the males, meaning the traditional gender roles are reversed.
For what they look like, think Asian-style dragons. I don't have any scenes with them yet, as the book takes place in the north.
Anything else you'd like to know? They aren't common in Ichondor, they're just the only race that fit there.
Nothing constructive is common in Ichondor - the Wastepaper Nation, as it's known unofficially. But that's the book - this is your chance.

Lighthearter Dec 08, 2010, 08:53 PM Damn, I really want to be an elf.
Are the goblins hobgoblins or regular goblins?
They're diminutive green men who like to drink beer and ride to war, all the while forging super shields and swords and holding an immense rivalry with the dwarves(tied to the greater dragons). What do you think? :p
Actual goblins. Kepholon(your initial claim nation) is still open, as is the massive swathe of elven land near it(centralized in the elven nation of Ethara).
-L
Celticfury Dec 08, 2010, 09:02 PM LH, what effect will the different species have on gameplay?
Lighthearter Dec 08, 2010, 09:06 PM Not much, usually. It's mainly for roleplaying reasons, except for the fact that the species and areas you spawn in can affect which gods are inclined to support you and what heroes you get. There can be unrest generated along the races' lines though in some cases.
-L
ilduce349 Dec 08, 2010, 09:06 PM Can I be a hobgoblin?

Edited to what a hobgoblin is.
Lighthearter Dec 08, 2010, 09:07 PM Can I be a hobgoblin?
No. Sorry but they aren't in the book for some good reasons. I may be using goblins, but I'm happier keeping the amount of species down to a level where they can all have some unique personality. It's one of the existing races.

Oh my God, THEY'RE EVERYWHERE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! Quickly, hide the women, children, and the number zero! (Gotta love Robin Williams)
IC:
@Arya: I accept your offer of friendship. I look forwards to an era of cooperation between us.
ilduce349 Dec 11, 2010, 10:32 AM I don't really care, all I'm saying is I know you:
Your not role playing here, your character based on his description would want an alliance with me, but because I'm Ilduce, and we hate eachother in RP1 and Pacific War you have to hate me everywhere...
Sonereal Dec 11, 2010, 10:35 AM I don't really care, all I'm saying is I know you:
Your not role playing here, your character based on his description would want an alliance with me, but because I'm Ilduce, and we hate eachother in RP1 and Pacific War you have to hate me everywhere...
@OOC: IlDuce, he is RPing. Out title pretty much establishes we're an aggressive batch of Masterists and not all Masterists would probably be on board with that. If the game has pre-set diplomatic things like that, the game wouldn't really be that fun.
@IC: The Western Throne, though sadden by your choice not to join the GMA, still welcomes The Foundation as fellow Masterist brothers.
arya126 Dec 11, 2010, 10:43 AM We look forward to a long and peaceful friendship with the Orion.
The Foundation also hopes that the western throne will be willing to stay on friendly terms with us, even though we are not in their alliance.
OOC: Like Sonereal said, I AM Roleplaying. Stop trying to force diplomatic arrangements on me and maybe our nations shall live on in peace.
Sonereal Dec 11, 2010, 10:45 AM The Foundation also hopes that the western throne will be willing to stay on friendly terms with us, even though we are not in their alliance.
We hope so as well.
Lighthearter Dec 11, 2010, 06:15 PM Right, first update tomorrow or later tonight. Out of curiosity, why is everyone Masterist? XD
-L
arya126 Dec 11, 2010, 06:17 PM Maybe that you hinted that if they exist then they are the most powerful beings in the universe....
Nukeknockout Dec 11, 2010, 06:27 PM Then they must be awful hard to convince to help you, since they deal with reality as a whole, and might have trouble seeing the significance of such small nations.
ilduce349 Dec 11, 2010, 06:38 PM but thats if they exist, its all or nothing, while for the others they are guaranteed.
Duke Blackstone Dec 12, 2010, 08:14 AM Wait, I still want in! Give me one second!
Duke Blackstone Dec 12, 2010, 09:26 AM The Craetoriate
A Religious Democracy
http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/1910/thelastprophecyclaims.png
Capitol: Mount Okholt
Religion: The majority of our citizens follow the teachings of Cennet the Moon, and he is our Sponsor. Worship is free, and temples to the Dieties Chor'ric, Ripfang, Shorzun and Alhandra are often seen. In our Goblin populations, both Progenitrist deities are worshiped.
Leader: The Great Dragon Dar'h Akboh'rd, a wise and charismatic mage. As the leader of a republic, he is defenseless to attacks and assination. However, none have bothered, as he will be replaced every 5 years anyway. He is merely mortal, and common born to the Craetoriate.
His vice president is the Goblin Heavernr Winthorst, a worshiper of the Progenitor, and a renounded wise genious mage. He will step in in event of an assignation, and he nearly won the elections this spring, even though great dragons make up more than half the population. He is also commonborn and mortal, but he has Tourettes.
Both officials are wizards.
Lighthearter Dec 12, 2010, 09:36 AM Primary deity? Oh and if people don't specify their capital, I'll do it for them:)
-L
ilduce349 Dec 12, 2010, 09:40 AM The largest elf city in my claims is my capital...
Celticfury Dec 12, 2010, 09:42 AM Can we have multiple leaders?
Lighthearter Dec 12, 2010, 09:49 AM No, you can't have multiple leaders. You can make a new one a few turns after your old one dies if they do, but you can't have multiple ones.
-L
Duke Blackstone Dec 12, 2010, 09:53 AM Yep. Im just recognizing the succession of our leaders and illustrating the degree multi-species cooperation. (dang that was a good line). Cennet is our primary.
Lighthearter Dec 12, 2010, 10:56 AM Update One
http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/2133/havenmap.gif
Opening Heroes:
Craetoria: Harkaren, the Clemen
The massive ruby dragon raised his head, smoke leaking from between his laws as he exhaled. Obviously he had been asleep when Krestt threw the doors open. But his golden eyes glowed with an energy and passion that was almost terrifying. The leader of the dragonclan Clemen stood, stretching his wings fifty feet to either side, his head rising almost a hundred off the floor.
Harkaren is wise and strong, a fighter who served in the Shadowblade Crisis. He is leader of the clan Clemen, as was his father before him. In-game:
+2 Morale to any battle he is dispatched to, -1 Unrest if primary deity is Cennet.
Republic of the Goblin Peninsula: Koton goblin-king
Koton was short, even for a goblin, standing only four feet tall. His eyes were a brownish-gold, his skin a sickly green. At his side rested his omnipresent sword, a handle made of ivory and a blade of fine steel.
Koton is an intelliget and moral ruler of Kepholon, the Goblin Kingdom. He has led it through the Mage's War and the Shadowblade Crisis well enough, and is highly popular with his people. In-game: +2 Morale to any battle he is dispatched to, -1 Unrest among Goblins.
Militant Federation of Tropiko Dasos: Steelscale
The steel-colored Lesser Dragon wove through the skies, his long body trailing behind him. His angular mouth seemed to grin as he landed before Agente, his wings folding into his body. His eyes were a bright green, almost mesmerizingly so. With a snort he turned his head and blew a breath of green fire onto one of the burning trees, extinguishing the flames with his arcana and starting the heal the plant.
Steelscale is the only Lesser Dragon male to truly be a warrior in his own right, having personally been training by Cel'aksh. For all his power, he is something of a nature spirit, seeking to protect the ecology of the South, as well as aid the foes of darkness. In-game: +1 Morale to any battle he is dispatched to, -1 Unrest among Lesser Dragons, -1 Unrest if Primary Deity is Cel'aksh.
Alliance of Eastern Elves: Crown Prince Cedric of Ethara
Cedric was shorter then his younger brother, only a little over six feet. His features were sharper, tougher, and he was more muscular. He was not a mage like Asona, but the bow slung casually on his back and the rapier in his belt argued that even the firstborn of the elf-queen was not to be trifled with.
Cedric is the Crown Prince of the only elven nation on the planet, Ethara. Like all elves, he treats the Progenitor as his patron, always watching him. However, when he fought in the Shadowblade crises he lost his left middle finger in combat, a powerful indicator that he was not meant to face Ethara's enemies on the field. In-game: +10% Arcane Research, -1 Unrest among elves, -1 Unrest if the Progenitor is your primary deity.
The Western Throne: Ishhrggen
The green-scaled snakeman whipped his twin swords around one last time, eviscerating the last human slaver, then froze in a guard stance. With no more foes in sight, he calmly rammed the shining steel weapons into the dirt and turned his pure yellow, vertical-pupiled eyes onto Laiin. He hissed something that reminded her of an angry rattlesnake, then leaned forward into a bow.
Ishhrggen is descended from a long line of political dissidents in Zelkonia. He has had some affiliation with the League of Zarachka, the official opposition, but chose to forward his clan by serving in the away teams sent to the Continent to protect the slave trade. It was there that he made his fateful choices to follow his own morals and not those of the Warlord. In-game: +1 Morale to any battle he is dispatched to, +50% chance of surviving Assassination.
The Foundation to the Foundation: Laiin II, the Lady Asmeelta
Laiin stood stock-still, waiting for her opponent to make the first move. Her coppery brown eyes never strayed even as she subtly shifted from side to side, her locks of ruby-red hair firmly contained in a bun at the back of her head.
Laiin is the twin sister of Mitenov, Crown Prince of Jinon. She is very well trained in combat and magic, and her continuing struggle to escape the persona of the "Lady Asmeelta" - the King's Assassin - is one of the major points of the book. In-game: +50% chance of success at assassination, +50% chance of surviving Assassination.
You may now perform expanded diplomacy as well as claims!
-L
Celticfury Dec 12, 2010, 10:58 AM To the honorable Dar'h Akboh'rd, leader of the Craetoriate;
I would like to extend an offer of friendship and cooperation to your nation. The world is a treacherous place, especially with such groups as the Grand Masterist Alliance. We must stand strong against any threat that might arise.
-Consul-General Orion
OOC: LH, should I include a description of my nation?
Lighthearter Dec 12, 2010, 11:02 AM OOC: LH, should I include a description of my nation?
I'm not going to rule that you have to roleplay, but there are potential rewards - like new Heroes and divine favor - that you could get from doing so.
Oh yes - I'm going to rule that you are required to invite the GM(me) to any social groups related to this game. I have to know what's going on. This means ALL social groups related to this game. ALL.

Sonereal Dec 12, 2010, 11:08 AM Western Throne expands west to retake the rest of our people's island.
http://i54.tinypic.com/2mh5ad.png
Celticfury Dec 12, 2010, 11:24 AM Well, I'm going to role play either way.
The Militant Federation of Tropiko Dasos
After the events of the Mage War and the Shadowblade Crisis, the nation of Tolgenii dissolved into lawlessness. After many years of anarchy, a leader emerged from a coastal city state. Orion Belisarius Kompinadoros quickly united the war torn region into a federation of states through the force of his personality and the force of his army. Orion seeks to unite the chaotic world by any means necessary, whether they be through diplomacy or, if need be, by war. This does not mean that he enjoy's bloodshed, however. Orion is also known for his general disdain of nobility and the magic arts (but not the priesthood), and considers himself a champion of the common man.

arya126 Dec 12, 2010, 11:46 AM LH i just realized i mispelled my nation's name. Can i correct it? Its supposed to be The Foundation of the Federation..... Anyway, without further ado:
The Foundation of the Federation is the name that certain insiders have given the Jinon Empire. This is due to the fact that it is essentially a puppet of the advance elements of the Federation. Select agents including General Haulsee's nephew Mike Haulsee were sent to Haven to gather information, and they ended up infiltrating the Jinon Empire in order to this. At the time, the Jinon Empire was a wreck due to corruption, and the lack of divine aid forcing them to turn away from their traditional dieties. Mike Haulsee soon took command after several shrewd political moves and assassainations, and reformed the decadent system. He is considered a hero by the common peoples of the land, and has been given the great gift of magic from the gods, transforming him from an earthling into a powerful Mage. He has recently taken an interest into a woman named Lady Asmeelta.
Claims in the attachment. I use 5$ to attract another hero, and i put 2$ into arcane research.
Still awaiting that PM LH.
Lighthearter Dec 12, 2010, 11:51 AM Sure you can correct it! And wait . . . what kind of "interest" are we talking about here . . .
And someone remembers the older manuscripts! Good for you! It won't save you . . .:p
-L
Celticfury Dec 12, 2010, 11:53 AM Oh yeah, I'd also like to put my $7 into material research.
Sonereal Dec 12, 2010, 11:54 AM The Western Throne puts $3 in Arcane and 2 in Material.
ilduce349 Dec 12, 2010, 11:57 AM Question about spending. With my Well connected bonus, if I invest $1 into hero's will I get 1.25 or just 1?
Lighthearter Dec 12, 2010, 11:58 AM Question about spending. With my Well connected bonus, if I invest $1 into hero's will I get 1.25 or just 1?

Duke Blackstone Dec 12, 2010, 11:59 AM To the Fair Consul, Orion;
War is coming, I can feel it in these old bones. The world shall soon repeat its plunge into chaos, and We will do our best to prevent this. I acknowledge and accept your gracious offer of friendship, but I offer a warning.
The Masterist Alliance is strong, but rational. They will not indulge in evil for evils sake, and my highest hope is that they shall use their tremendous influence to hold off the incoming Armageddon.
My Lord and Master Cennet has tasked me to hold this world together for as long as we can, and the Craetorian government agrees with my stance, and empowers me to speak as the voice of the state.
Even now our priests inside the Temple at Mount Okholt perform rituals for guidance. The moon is full, and Cennets power waxes. Pray the wisdom He bestows upon us shall be enough..
In greatest sincerity,
Harkaren
Leader of the clan Clemen
Voice of the People of Creatoria
Secretary of Of International Affairs
ilduce349 Dec 12, 2010, 11:59 AM What about 2? Because rounded 2.5=3...
I'm trying to use my bonuses to maximize the effiency of my tech.
Sonereal Dec 12, 2010, 12:01 PM "Lord West. Your math skills are rusty."
"How so?"
"Sigh. Nevermind. Let me do the research spending for you."
OOC: Put $4 in Arcane and $3 in Material.
Lighthearter Dec 12, 2010, 12:02 PM Hmm. I'll say that 1.25 = 1, 2.5 = 2, 3.75 = 4 and then 5 = 5:p
Oh - the full moon huh? Hmmm. I suppose I can add The Gathering in already!
-L
ilduce349 Dec 12, 2010, 12:04 PM So, say I research 2 the first round (therefore 3)
and 2 the second round (also 3)
would I get 6 or 5?
Duke Blackstone Dec 12, 2010, 12:06 PM Summery: The Democracy of Craetoria annexed four new states near the Dragovat Pass in accordance with its constitutional powers to do so. Several more provinces have petitioned statehood, and will be admitted in the near future. 5 gold was spent recruiting a hero, and 2 was placed in the magical branch, tech one.

-L
ilduce349 Dec 12, 2010, 12:11 PM Why the hell would you round down?
I spend 3 into Material (times 1.35 for traits=4.05)
and 4 into hero (time 1.25 for traits=5)
Claim 5 elf territory's
I would roleplay, but I have alot of homework due (partically 3 essays due next week that I have yet to start, 1 due tomorrow)
arya126 Dec 12, 2010, 12:42 PM He rounded down because HE IS THE GM. ITS ONE OF THOSE THINGS THE GM HAS CONTROL OVER.
The foundation for the federation asks the Craetoria if they would be interested in a 3 way allaince with Orion and myself to counter the influence of the masterist alliance,
I also ask all countries to respect the Foundation's claims on all of the former Jinon Empire.
Celticfury Dec 12, 2010, 01:34 PM Outside of the Federal Assembly building, around mid afternoon:
"Greetings, my fellow countrymen. I come before you today with an issue of great importance. As many of you are no doubt aware, the Federation has begun to expand settlements into the former Aerilian Republic. In doing so, our borders have recently encompassed an important landmark known simply as 'The Mountain'. This site happens to be he holy site of the god Cel'aksh, and is revered by the Lesser Dragons of the south.
"After much discussion with the governors of the states and with the Federal Assembly, it has been decided that it is in the best interest of the Federation that this site remain sacrosanct and untarnished. Therefore, effective immediately, all settlements on the Mountain and within one and a half miles of the Mountain's base are considered illegal and will be removed from the area. Anyone currently living within the area will be compensated fully for their troubles and relocated to a suitable area. Likewise, it is now illegal for anyone other that the Lesser Dragons to set foot within the designated area.
"On a similar note, the Foundation of the Federation has recently called for the nations of Haven to refrain from expanding into the former nation of Jinon, which it has claimed as their own. The Militant Federation acknowledges this claim, and will not sponsor any settlement expeditions to Jinon. In addition, the Federal Assembly has ruled that any private expansion into the area is now illegal, and will be punishable by law.
"I thank you for your time, and bid you good day."
Edit: OOC: LH, could you move my capital to the coast please? It will still be in the same province, but I would like it there for role play reasons.
Lighthearter Dec 12, 2010, 03:30 PM Event:
In Craetoria, a soldier has wandered over the border with the Foundation of the Federation and fallen in love with one of their high-ranking officers from the initial landing. Now the two are planning marriage. What do the leaders of these nations have to say about this event, considering that the nations are of different religious beliefs?
-L
ilduce349 Dec 12, 2010, 03:45 PM which are the two nations in question?
arya126 Dec 12, 2010, 03:56 PM I see no problem as the official diety of this nation is the progenitor is it not? Or have i misread the report one of my advisors sent me?
The only problem i could see is that classified information could now become a problem to both sides. A solution to this is a closer friendship, if their leader will accept it.
Celticfury Dec 12, 2010, 04:16 PM The front page has you listed as a Masterist.
Edit: Nevermind, misread the post.
arya126 Dec 12, 2010, 04:36 PM I AM a Masterist. Oh LH will know what I am implying here. Technically its only a suspicion of identity in the game, but i know the secrets of this religion LH!
Duke Blackstone Dec 12, 2010, 05:11 PM The President Publicly graced the marriage today, and stated that this bond of love should pull our nations closer in these dark times. The Highranking officer of the foundation is strikingly beautiful, and she is rumored to be a very devious commander.
(OOC Before i can write more, what religion will they be married under, where will they live, and does the Foundation object to a pact of lasting peace, friendship, and military cooperation(at least where training is concerned?))
arya126 Dec 12, 2010, 06:40 PM I do not object, in fact I would happily embrace such a pact.
Since the high ranking official is not too devoted to masterist beliefs to the extent of my knowledge, and also due to other knowledge between me and LH, I have no problem with them being married under the religion of your nation (Your diety is progenitor correct? I need confirmation).
I am sure that both leaders can provide a home in each capital, and another home somewhere else in each nation so that comes to a total of 4 homes to fit where they want to be at the time.
GhostWriter16 Dec 12, 2010, 06:59 PM Claim the four territories that are currently touching my borders.
Spend all money on arcane research.

The Foundation of the Federation(Arya126):

Available Hero: Rodric Dufonse
Cost: $1 per turn
"What do you hear?" Rodric asked, looking around. Asona looked up.
"Nothing." He said after a moment, his brow furrowing.
"Exactly." Rodric whispered. He looked at Asona. The elf suddenly tossed himself to the ground while Rodric seized Agente bodily and dove on top of her, both narrowly evading the crossbow bolts that sought them.
Rodric is a Gyrean Ranger, one of the heroes of Shadowblade. He is tough and capable, and experienced in the arts of fighting, though not a born leader. In-game: -1 Unrest, +1 Morale to any battle he is dispatched to.
Ichondor Risen(Nukeknockout):
Heroes: Warlord Zathor

Zathor:
The Zelkonian stared coolly out the window, watching the waves shift below with an uncaring amusement. His blood-red scales gleamed terrifyingly in the sunlight, and his fangs were bared in a serpentine smile that put his muscled body to shame.
Zathor was once a simple young challenger to be head of a single Zelkonian clan. but he defeated all comers and took leadership. Forging a close friendship with the blind mage and prophet Ytha, Zathor was able to unite all the clans under him, and become effectively immortal with Ytha's magic. In-game: +2 Morale to any battle he is dispatched to, +1 Unrest.

arya126 Dec 13, 2010, 04:19 PM I welcome Robert Dufonse to my noble court.
I spend another $5 on attracting a hero. 5 left.
I buy a navy for $2. What ships does this entail if I may ask? For roleplay reasons. What type, can i name them?
Also can we build things like naval academies or army schools in order to increase morale or attract new heroes or something? I think that could add a whole new level of strategy to the game. Sabotage could come as a new action, and we could send members of the royal family to these schools to give them unique traits and/or become leaders (another cool point that i would like to suggest). I would understand if you didnt want to implement these changes of course. Its your game.
$3 goes into arcane research.
ilduce349 Dec 13, 2010, 04:25 PM nevermind, I realized that he is an ally.
Can you upgrade territories?
Celticfury Dec 13, 2010, 04:27 PM I'll devote all $11 dollars to material research.

I claim those 4 provinces.
I put $5 into Material research, and buy a navy. to second Arya's question for the same reasons, what types of ships does this entail?
I hereby proclaim that the Highest priority of Ichondor Risen is to protect Thalia's holiest site, a place known only as the Graveyard.
edit:
@Militant Union of Tropiko Das: are you trying to cut Ichondor off? for too long have we been stuck in these lands, for too long have we been looked down upon. If you are, Savreth says we won't stand for it. Better to die on your feet than live on your knees.

arya126 Dec 13, 2010, 05:25 PM May i build a monument to a master god is I wish to do so? What will the effects be?
Also can heroes die in battle?
CAN ILDUCE DO THAT? Sorry, but that gives him a lot of land. Either the land becomes uninhabited, or all the ntions in the area (the continent) recieve a piece of it as an occupational zone until he returns. This zone will become a safe zone in times of war, although if a country is reduced to just that province it MUST surrendur. I can draw up a treaty if its okay will everyone.
I write to Ichondor Risen on behalf of my friend, Militant Union of Tropiko Das. I am sure he is only claiming what land is rightfully his, although i am sure we can settle this. perhaps you may settle somewhere else with the aid of a navy? I can draw up an SOI treaty as well...
Sonereal Dec 13, 2010, 05:36 PM We'll keep the capital province, give the southern region to those guys down there and...do something about the rest.

arya126 Dec 13, 2010, 05:42 PM Hey, hey, hey. This is unacceptable. Gives way too much power to those who dont deserve it. You have done nothing special to recieve such a reward. I DEMAND that it be turned into an international zone. I will post the details of my idea in a few hours once the mission for pacific war gets finished.
Sonereal Dec 13, 2010, 05:47 PM We'll turn it into an international zone but first, we must....collect some things.
I'll build five navies this turn and put $1 into arcane research.
As soon as that's done, we'll collect a few hundred....or a few thousand, human slaves and go back to our island in peace.
Duke Blackstone Dec 13, 2010, 06:41 PM I buy kent ($2) and spend another $5 attracting another hero. What I have written so far:
"It was Monday. Vice President Heavernr Winthorst hated mondays. His breath fogged in front of his eyes as he slowly descended the steps into the depths of Jioh Prison. It was the first Monday of the month, and tradition stated that the Vice President of Craetoria must do his part cleaning out the penitentiary system.
He paused to allow an elf guard to unlock the tall wooden door to prison level D-23, known as death row to the inmates. The door creaked open and silence met his ears. Winthorst reflected on the idiocracy of tradition. In many countries in Haven, one member of the accused was pardoned each month. However, in Craetoria, the prisoner was executed. Only the people could pardon serious offenders.
The stillness was broken by the click of talons upon rock. Ri'threthr, warden of Jioh, was a spectacularly massive great dragon, whose scales richness was undimmed by the long hours hidden in darkness she spent watching the prisoners.
Ri'threthr jerked her head, and turned one hundred and eighty degrees in a fluid movement, no small feat for such a massive beast. The vice president followed her through the long stone corridor, and arrived at the fist cell. It was going to be a long day.
---------
Winthorst arrived at the third cell on the left in the "Special" prisoner section a little past lunch. Convicts housed here were best kept in solitary for various reasons. Some were escape artists, some convicted of treason, some were simply psychopathic. However, even by those standards the man in this cell was an oddity.
Most prisoners recognized the VP, and knew why he toured the jail every month. Commonly their reaction to his presence was a mix between the basic ingredients screaming, cussing, hiding, weeping, and begging. Very rarely was he ever ignored, and then it was typically by those whose minds had fled long ago. However, as he passed the magically reinforced bars of this cell, the prisoner inside didn't even look up form his work.
A long piece of parchment was spread across the cell floor, covered with what looked like diagrams of a machine, surrounded by a pentagram. This did not particularly worry the Vice President, as cells in Jioh were made impervious to most magical attacks. The simple and astronomically expensive inclusion of ground Earthsnake scales in both bars, mortar, and celling was extremely effective in keeping all magical residue inside of the cell.
As a further procession, a small chip of scale was implanted into the back of any known magician at their processing after indictment. Still some prisoners insisted on attempting summons, which inevitably left them trapped at the mercy of the powers they had invited to share their abode. Any such attempt was simply listed as a "suicide" on guard paperwork.
"Just another crazy" Winthorst murmered to himself, watching the prisoner draw an ethieor symbol next to what looked like a lever on the diagram. Out of curiosity, he examined his listing of cell occupants, and did a double take. Johun Doby! He knew this case!
Nearly a year previous, Doby was one of the greatest mages in the know world. His specialty was known as Techromancy, combining disciplines like alchemy, mechanics, and physics with powerful magic to enhance productivity. If you wanted to produce a new spell, charm, or other product, it was almost certain his name was on the patent.
However, every successful businessman makes enemies. "
Celticfury Dec 13, 2010, 07:19 PM OOC: LH, could you post a list of holy sites and places of importance? I will understand if you don't, but I think it would be great for RP.
Also, how will naval movement work?
IC:
To Lord Savreth, leader of Ichondor Risen;
Due to certain events that have recently occurred, the Federation is willing to enter negotiations with Ichondor concerning the expansion of both nations involved. Simply announce the time and place that would be suitable for negotiations.

arya126 Dec 14, 2010, 02:04 PM I have a solution to the loss of Ilduce. Now I was too lazy to draw up an actual treaty, but i will put a map up sooner or later. Hopefully, numbers will suffice for now.
Nuke gets the 2 provinces to the very south of Ilduce's nation, including the capital. The province to the direct east of the capital, and the one northeast of that one, goes to sonereal. Celt get the 2 to the south of his bordering province. Duke gets the ones to the very extent of the northeast of the nation. Domination (He is the purple one right?) gets the ones on either side of the piece of his land that sticks into Ilduces nation. I get the last one, right next to dommys new provinces.
That way, everybody gets a stake of 2 provs, and i get one. If this plan comes into affect, all participants agree to give back these selcted territories AND NO MORE to Ilduce should he come back. I also hope that if this comes into affect, dommy and duke will let me connect the territory to my country before claiming around it.
GhostWriter16 Dec 14, 2010, 02:05 PM Sure.
Sonereal Dec 14, 2010, 03:34 PM I can live with that.
Lighthearter Dec 14, 2010, 03:36 PM I can't. I'm making all that land blank.

If you wanted to produce a new spell, charm, or other product, it was almost certain his name was on the patent.
However, every successful businessman makes enemies.
Doby had a romantic interest in the daughter of an old rival, and had created her a keloiskiope as a present for her birthday. When the gift was tested out imediatly after being opened, according to the one survivor, it exploded, killing the entire family, and the rival.
The courts ruled it an assination by Doby, and he was to face death.
Winthorst smiled.
---------------
On Tuesday the rope dropped, and Doby kicked his way into the darkness. Most agreed it had been a good hanging.
---------------
Doby opened his eyes. Blurily, he could see a desk in front of him, and an occupied chair. The world swam.
A tolling bell sounded in his ears as he breathed deeply. The ringing quieted... and words pierced his conciousness. "Oh, excellent" said a high, yet gravely voice echoing Dobys thoughts, "You're awake".
The voice continued
"I have a deal for you, and a task. As this world becomes more and more unstable, we must fight to stay a step ahead of hostile nations."
a pause
"Do you recognize me? No? Good. No dont try to talk, the ropes, they do dreadful things to the voicebox.. And, no, this is not a dream, the rope was very real. You were hung within an 8th of an inch of your life, very precise science, necessity really. Oh, would you like a glass of water?"
Doby nodded, and realized that his hands weren't tied. Almost instantly an ice cold glass was pressed into his hands. He took a sip, and the world sharply came into focus. He stared at the glass, shocked.
"Yes, it was spiked"
Dobys eyes jerked up, and in shock he spilled his glass.
"Bloody hell, thats not cheap" the Vice President of Craetoria snapped, gesturing at the carpet, or perhaps the drink.
"But whatever"
Winthorst leaned forward..
"Boy do I have a job for you. Meet Kent, he is new too. He will explain the rest. Let it suffice that you will now use your skills for a much more nobel cause" An exceptionally creepy smile spread across Winthorsts face "Welcome, my new Chairman of Technological Development. Your new name is Urial Johins."

“Skyte?” He called out. Arkis stared too. Trist slowly stepped towards the trees, searching with his eyes for a human form. He thought he saw one after a moment as he came closer. “Skyte – that you?” He called out again. No reply, no motion. Trist came closer yet, his hand on his sword. “Alright, Skyte, this ain’t funny time. Come on, let’s get back to–”
Then the figure’s bright frost-blue eyes opened. Trist jerked backward. That didn’t help, as a pair of arms shot out and grabbed him. Trist screamed as he was brutally yanked into the foliage.
Right onto the waiting knife. He wasn’t screaming long.
Lighthearter was once a simple peasant boy, but when a horde of raiders killed his parents and sister he was taken in by an old man named Keneven. Trained by him in combat arts and logical/tactical planning, he later apprenticed to Brigadier Tyrone Dufonse of the Gyrean Rangers. Then the Shadowblade Crises killed Tyrone, and Lighthearter set out with his mentor's son Rodric to continue his mission. In-game: -1 Unrest, +1 Morale to any battle he is dispatched to, +25% chance to survive Assassination.
Militant Federation of Tropiko Dasos(Celticfury):
Heroes: Steelscale

Available Hero: Raphonde Contil
Cost: $1 Per Turn
Raphonde cocked her head, jet-black hair spilling around her shoulders. She shrugged then, decisively. Lighthearter smiled - his sister wasn't so different from him after all.
Raphonde is the Chancellor of the Aerilian Empire, a close confidant to the Emperor, and a very capable warrior in her own right. She escaped a northern villiage that was burned to the ground in the Mage's War and lost her brother and parents. In-game: +1 Morale to all battles, -1 Unrest.
