View Full Version : The axe falls ....
tcjsavannah Dec 30, 2002, 12:59 PM Tom Coughlin from Jacksonville, Dave Campo in Dallas and Dick LeBeau in Cincinnati...
Get those resumes in, boys!
Rumored already: Parcells goes to the Boys, Nick Saban to the Bungles and Dennis Green to the Jaguars.
Flatlander Fox Dec 30, 2002, 01:15 PM Bungles won't go anywhere until they get a GM. And it seems that Mike Brown isn't going to step aside.
Steve Mariucci might get fired too, which is stoopid but true, especially if they don't get far into the playoffs.
gr8ful wes Dec 30, 2002, 01:28 PM Too often the Coach gets the Ax. I wish teams would hold onto them a little longer, particularly the decent ones.
Bill Cowher is a rarity.
jiml_63 Dec 31, 2002, 02:03 PM You can be sure that Marty and Matt will be toast in Detroit as well...
WildFire Jan 01, 2003, 12:32 PM I dont care that much about football, except for the NY Giants who are my fav but i thought you guys would like to see this if you hadn't already. Bill Parcels signs with Cowboys (http://espn.go.com/nfl/news/2003/0101/1485330.html)
Alcibiaties of Athenae Jan 01, 2003, 01:03 PM The Boys refuse to confirm it.
WildFire Jan 01, 2003, 01:08 PM But it says he signed the deal and the press conference is tommorrow AoA. How can they not confirm it??
tcjsavannah Jan 01, 2003, 05:14 PM Well, it is Parcells... nothing's for certain with him until you actually see him on the sidelines coaching.
gr8ful wes Jan 02, 2003, 09:18 AM He is in. should make things interesting. Particularly the midweek arguments between him and Jones.

You mean the mid-game arguments on the sideline, don't you?
Alcibiaties of Athenae Jan 03, 2003, 09:33 AM He has got a big job ahead, the Boys lack a QB and an O line, and their HB is old.
He won't turn them around in a year, it will take some time I think.
tcjsavannah Jan 03, 2003, 09:58 AM Parcells will dump Emmitt and go with Hambrick as his halfback or pick one in April's draft. Wasn't it Parcells who got Curtis Martin in the 4th round for the Patriots? He turned out to be pretty good.
The real question is whether Emmitt hangs them up or goes to another team, kinda like Franco Harris ending up in Seattle or Eric Dickerson ending up with the Falcons...
Flatlander Fox Jan 03, 2003, 10:30 AM Smith might stay in Big D, only because he is the kind of back Parcells likes, not too flashy and such.
It will be interesting to see what Parcells does at QB, OH what a mess. :D
jiml_63 Jan 04, 2003, 01:03 PM Don't be surprised if Parcells makes a big play for Chris Simms in the draft....makes a lot of sense to me....
