So a bunch of friends gathered to continue a multiplayer game we had only to notice we cannot continue it. One player quit after he had arrived a point he cannot win. He was the host, but the saves are kept with others, so we thought "no problem".

Now when we try to continue, we can't make the AI player AI. The game waits for a human player and we just can't get anyone to it.

Seriously what the crap? I've heard people have had a lot of problems with Civ5 multiplayer, but this is ridiculous.

Well I think this is in part to keep people from cheating and being able to load MP games with AI in SP games. But I agree there are likely better ways to deal with this issue.

At any rate all you have to do is find a player to fill the spot and after the game starts they can drop and leave the AI.
