Cyc Jan 02, 2003, 02:08 AM Congratulations to our new Cultural Minister. It is good to see you take the Office. With Roten as your mascot, I'm sure you'll keep a good eye on our Cultural development.
P.S. Congrats on the 1000 PC mark.
Shaitan Jan 02, 2003, 06:14 AM Please include a link to the Term 4 thread in the first post of this Term 5 thread.

Congrats on your "election". :) I look forward to a productive term working with you.
I'd like you to set some quantifiable goals for this term and post them in the opening post so that we can evaluate our progress as the term progresses.
For example... How many Culture points per turn should we be producing by the end of the term? What percentage of our cities should have cultural buildings inside? Which cities should become Cultural Centers? ...and so on...
I appreciate your attention to this matter.
Octavian X Jan 04, 2003, 04:57 PM A council vote to approve many new governors and a Judge Advocate is underway. Plexus, please cast you vote here. (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40794)
FionnMcCumhall Jan 05, 2003, 12:37 AM attention governor/department leader.
If you need something rushed, or upgraded please post so in the budget thread located here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40496) . Check to see how much it costs then post the amount and the reason it needs to be rushed, or upgraded.
Thanks

Chieftess Jan 07, 2003, 08:21 AM I just completed a tally of our culture for the Culture Department...
I'm happy to say we're now in the top 5 for total culture at #5! [dance]:jump:[dance]
The ratios are as follows: (I used the good old fashion "line" method in PSP - Apollo is too much of a cheat now)
England: 52:18 (Almost 3:1 culture)
Zulus: 52:18 (Almost 3:1 culture)
China: 52:25 (2:1)
Persia: 52:24 (About 2:1)
Rome: 52:31 (About 5:3 culture)
India 52:36 (Almost 4:3 culture)
France: 52:38 (Almost 4:3 culture)
Russia: 52:43 (Close to 1:1)
Iroquois 52:54 (Just about 1:1)
America: 52:62 (Close to 1:1
Babylon 52:118 (Almost 1:2) (note: Babylon's culture hasn't changed much, and actually DROPPED due to Persia and Zulus), however, many of their improvements are most likely nearing the 1,000 year mark. While we're making great gains against Babylon - We were 1:3 - they will pick up again).
Greece: 52:84 (About 2:3)
I'd really like to see more culture rushes around Kagoshima.
Plexus Jan 07, 2003, 04:37 PM Wow! Thanks CT! I was dreading doing this :)
I'm not sure weather to suggest a rush or not:
Cathedral: 15
University: 9
Plexus Jan 07, 2003, 04:58 PM An informational poll on the viability of rushing a university in Kagoshima has been posted.

Octavian X Jan 09, 2003, 10:36 PM Plexus, in my never-ending search for a job, I noticed the culture department needs a deputy. Is the position still open?
Plexus Jan 09, 2003, 11:07 PM Yup, you just made the cut. I am posting the poll tonight.
Plexus Jan 09, 2003, 11:33 PM Here's the poll to determine my Deputy: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41271
Donovan Zoi Jan 10, 2003, 06:07 PM Plexus,
Please look over and respond to my plan for our military response to India's agression. It needs some ironing out so please join the discussion.

Chieftess Jan 16, 2003, 07:15 AM I just completed a tally of our culture for the Culture Department...
I'm happy to say we're now #4 in culture! [dance][dance]
The ratios are as follows: (I used the good old fashion "line" method in PSP - Apollo is too much of a cheat now)
Zulus: 57:16 (Abuot 3:1 culture - 7:2)
England: 57:17 (About3:1 culture)
Persia: 57:22 (About 5:2 culture)
China: 57:28 (about 2:1 culture)
Rome: 57:28 (About 2:1 culture)
India 57:37 (Almost 4:3 culture)
France: 57:37 (Almost 4:3 culture)
Russia: 57:41 (About 4:3 culture)
Iroquois 57:55 (Just about 1:1)
America: 57:63 (Close to 1:1)
Greece: 57:87 (About 2:3)
Babylon 57:115 (Almost 1:2) (note: Babylon's culture is starting to stall! We still have to watch for 1,000 year old improvements though. A Russian city close to the Russia capital has flipped to Babylon.
China and India have increased their culture, but we remain steady. Amercia and the Iroquois have increased their culture slightly, but we are also holding steady, and have now surprassed the Iroquois! Greece is also gaining, but we are making stronger gains in our culture rating. With the addition of a new wonder (Our capital has almost no ancient improvements... which could have helped) our capital will expand its' borders in 8 turns.
Our previous spread was an even 2:2:4:2:2. It's now 3:2:4:1:2. We are making great strides culturally!
Plexus Jan 17, 2003, 04:51 PM Aye, we are making great strides. Too bad that I have nearly nothing to do with these figures as of now. After the war though... watch out for me!
Thank you, CT!

Plexus Jan 18, 2003, 02:38 PM Hmm... could you make a list of cities that may flip?
naervod Jan 18, 2003, 04:32 PM I'm on it. I hope to have it by tonight, tomorrow night at the latest and definitely before the next t/c.

Comments: I think since the same city (Izibia, Bab.) is causing the problem with the top three cities on green, it is safe to say that one at a time will probably flip.
Plexus Jan 20, 2003, 01:09 AM Hmmm... why don't you think the culture within the cities wouldn't prevent the flip? (I'm not disagreeing with you, I just want to know why you think they are justified in being on the list. Also, what about Lahore and Fukushima, you don't think that they belong on the CFWS?)
-plexus
naervod Jan 23, 2003, 04:28 PM I know there is some culture that could prevent the flip, but you must also take into account the other civ's national culture and the flipping cities culture. As for Lahore and Fukushiuma, that was a mistake on my part, I forgot to add them.
FortyJ Jan 29, 2003, 12:19 PM As there may be a turn chat early in the term (ie. Saturday or Sunday), I would like to suggest that the current officials carry out their responsibilities in preparation for that potential turn chat.
We need an assessment of the cultural threat from Babylon. Before we attempt to take any additional Babylonian cities (if we are going to at all), we should evaluate the threats to our current positions first. Also, please examine the potential threat (or lack thereof) of same from India. Should we eliminate them entirely or let them survive in their lone jungle city?
Thank you for your attention to this matter and your service this term.
Shaitan Jan 30, 2003, 07:39 AM Code of Standards change needs sponsor!
Please see this post (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?postid=740170#post740170) if you are willing to sponsor the COS change to allow guilty pleas.
Chieftess Jan 30, 2003, 06:45 PM I request - no, beg culture to support rushing libraries in the newly captured Indian cities, especially their former core, and cities near the Iroquois. Please post your instructions in the Turn Chat Instructions thread.
