FortyJ Jan 04, 2003, 01:49 PM Points of order...
The instructions from the Culture Department were erroneously misplaced during the previous turn chat with respect to Kagoshima. Fortunately, no damage was done as this mistake was caught before anything else was produced. The build orders for that town shall be switched immediately to a culture generating improvement.
Cheetah Jan 05, 2003, 01:03 PM Keep everything as it is exept:
Zorgonzolia
Library(14), Temple, Courthouse, Marketplace.
I would like another defence unit to be placed in Zorgonzolia when it is available, so we have two units defending it.
Serenity
Library (3), Marketplace, Courthouse, Cathedral.
Sturmandrang
Temple(7), Courthouse, Aqueduct, Marketplace, University.
I still request that either culture buildings and/or courthouse is bought in Zorgonzolia, Huntington, Trader's Inn and Grandmastoria. The request is also posted in the Budget thread.
Octavinium
If Plan A is accepted I must insist that Octavinium is allowed to complete its Marketplace before it starts producing military units. After the Marketplace is complete let Octavinium produce military units.
FionnMcCumhall Jan 05, 2003, 01:31 PM Im sure that if the governors post their instructions you can ignore most of these queues and micromanagment. I do request we try not to adhere to Plan A just because some feel its for the GOOD of the nation. The majority of the rushes cheetah asked for are not approved with exception to:
Zorgonzolia - Library(56 gold)
Grandmastoria - Library(20 gold)
Trader's Inn - Library(64 gold)
Donsigs request is approved as well:
I formally request that a temple be rushed in Eklektochtitlan. The current cost would be 128g. In three turns the cost will be under 100g. Please rush it as soon as possible as it is needed to inspire a WLTK day in that city which will lower waste and corruption there.
Eklektikos request for the marketplace is approved. University is not.
I would like to request 148g in order to rush the marketplace being built in Valhalla during preturn
Build Queues
Southwest Province
Nocsifidera- Pikeman(26), Cathedral, Granary
Civanatoria- Pikeman(6), Temple, Granary, Marketplace
New Falcon's Nest- Knight(7), Temple, Courthouse
Cuernavaca- Granary(19), Pikeman, Granary, Courthouse
Pensacola- Pikeman(3), Temple, Granary, Aqueduct
Bremershaven- Granary(4), Cathedral, Pikeman, Courthouse NOTE: This city is in danger of revolt with 3 unhappy citizens. And alternative would be to switch the Granary and Cathedral to make the citizens happier.
Tlaxcala- Pikeman(2), Teple, University, Marketplace
Micromanagement
Eklektochtitlan - Place the entertainer on the hill. It's no longer needed, and will increase production.
Kagoshima - A worked wheat tile can be moved to one of the forests. It slows growth just a bit, but it gains a shield. It could be done in 3 turns, though. (after the pike is finished)
Nara - Move the tile SW of the cattle onto the road SE of the city. No shields are lost, but it does gain 1 commerce.
Zargonzolia - Move the worked tile from the irragated floodplains to the plains 1 NW of that Pike. It gains 1 shield.
Bremershaven - A worked grassland tile (West of the city) can be moved to the north forest, but slows growth. (optional - can be done in 4 turns after the granary is complete)
Yokohama - The worked tile 2 to the SW of the city can be placed on the forest, but at the cost of growth. At 50% corruption, and there's only 1 hill (the rest tundra), it's all the production it can get for now.
Strider's Haven - The roaded tile 1 SE can be moved to the mined plains 1 to the south for another shield, but reduced growth.
Kells - Put the worked tile 1S of the city onto a forest tile. It grows in one turn, so it can reclaim the irragated grasslands.
The Burrow - Place the worked tile on the irragated tile onto the forest. It's at size 6 with no aquaduct. Also, that irragated tile can be mined instead. (It's a bonus grassland tile).
Strumandrang - Place one of the worked floodplains onto the irragated plains. It's at size 6 with no acquaduct, plus, it will gain 1 shield.
Bizen - Move a worked roaded tile onto a roadless bonus grassland. It gains a shield, but loses gold. A 2nd one can do the same, but I wouldn't recommend it until we get it roaded.
Tarkingrad - If the city wants to build a pike, then atleast put the worked tile onto the forest.
Pensacola - When it grows (in 3 turns), place a worked tile on the forest.
Civantoria - After the grassland tile is mined and roaded, place a plains tile onto the mined/roaded grassland
Trader's Inn - The worked mountain tile is not needed, and can be turned into an entertainer for an eventual WLTKD.
Connect unconnected cities right away and iggigate and mine everywhere we can so we can grow our cities.
Stuck_as_a_Mac Jan 05, 2003, 04:04 PM Taliesin Build Queues.
Morgana - [c]University(3), Marketplace(15), Aquaduct(15), Knight(10) Temple(9)
Morgana- Keep workers as is.
Strider's Haven - [c]Marketplace(10) University (15) Knight(10)
Striders Haven- Please move SW worker S. This doubles growth time, but shaves off two turns for building.
The Burrow - [c]Cathedral(13), Courthouse (8)
The Burrow- Keep workers as is.
Palanthus - [c] Courthouse(10), Marketplace(20), Pikeman(6), Knight(14), Worker (2)
Palanthus- Keep workers as is
Dacula - [c]Aquaduct (25), Temple(15), University (25)
Dacula - Keep as is. A note for when we have workers. Please mine and road the wheat NW NW, seeing as that could help us.
Goonidom - [c]Library(28), Pikeman (30), Courthouse (80)
Goonidum- Keep as is
Penguin - [c]Temple(47), Courthouse (80), Worker (10)
Penguin- Keep as is. Later on, with worker, please mine the Game.
New PDX - [c]Temple(12), University (34), Worker (4)
New PDX- Keep as is
The Highlands- [c]Library(1), Barracks(10), Temple(30)
The Highlands- Keep worker as is.
Tarkingrad - [c] Pikeman(14), [c] Pikeman (14)
Tarkingrad- Move laborer N, NW onto the mined plains.
Goonie Jan 05, 2003, 04:28 PM Leave all build queues the same.
Now for Bizen(Newly flipped city)
Library(14), Marketplace(40)
I had worker order that went ignored last t/c for some reason.
I asked for forest to be planted near Shimonoseki. Please do this. Forest is better then Tundra. Please fill all tundra tiles with forest. Then plant forest all the way to Novgorod and do the same. Micromanagement is fine the way it is.
amirsan Jan 05, 2003, 07:04 PM :king:
Kyoto- Change Knight to Worker, Granary, and move on to Plan A or knight.
Plexenburg- Keep worker, Aqueduct, Granary, Barracks, and temple, knight.
Kells- Change to worker, Aqueduct, Granary, Barracks, knight.
Keep citizens the same for now.
Change last production building to PLAN A if needed (with notification)
:king:
Octavian X Jan 05, 2003, 10:43 PM South Doughnut Coast
Padmativa: Temple (6), Courthouse
Leningrado: Barracks (2), Musketmen
Shaitan Jan 06, 2003, 09:49 AM The Highlands must be renamed back to Cleveland. There was no approval poll to change Cleveland to The Highlands.
donsig Jan 06, 2003, 12:22 PM City build queue (# of turns to complete)
Bremershaven knight (5), knight (5), musket (4), musket (4), musket (4)
Civanatoria temple (16), aqueduct (34)
Cuernavaca courthouse (26)
Eklektochtitlan temple (11)
New Falcon's Nest knight (7), knight (12), knight (12)
Nocsfiedera worker (6), granary (60)
Pensacola market (17), aqueduct (20)
Tlaxcala knight (10), knight (14), knight (14)
Reasons for changes:
Build queue poll, (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40858) currently tied at 10-10. As governor I would break the tie in favor of the poll. That accounts for the queues in Bremershaven, Tlaxcala, Dapperdan, Civanatoria, Pensacola, Nocsfiedera and New Falcon's Nest.
Eklektochtitlan, a size 12 city is builind a granary. This will be useless for quite some time. A temple will offset unhappiness problems.
Cuernavaca is also building a granary but it will not be able to grow past size two without some irrigation which is well in the future. A courthouse will help make the city more productive.
Micromanagement:
Bremershaven: Please move a laborer from the forest to the raded plain for an extra 1gpt.
Cuernavaca needs irrigation and roads when possible.
Eklektochtitlan: Use one of the larorers on the irrigated plains to hire a second entertainer. Please rush the temple for 128g if approved.
New Falcon's Nest: Please move a laborer from the mined plains to the irrigated plains and use the laborer on the furs to hire an entertainer to inspire a WLTK day. Please irrigate the mined plains when possible.
EDIT: Found out Dapperdan is in the North Province. Edited out my references to that fine city.
CivGeneral Jan 06, 2003, 12:48 PM Science Department
Keep researching Chenistry and continue the path to Military Tridition
Grandmaster Jan 06, 2003, 04:15 PM OK, most queues are remaingin as-is. However, Kagoshima is to switch immediately from building a Pikeman to building a Marketplace. The pikeman should then be placed next in the build queue. Also, a Barracks is to be placed in the Nara build queue as the next project. I have no micromanagement requests yet.
Queues should be:
Kago: Market, Pike
Nara: Knight, Barracks
Chieftess Jan 06, 2003, 05:07 PM Trade (along with discussion with FA) would like you to consider this poll (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40926). While informational, it has overwhelming support.
Other than that, nations are too poor to trade, and no trade deals will expire.
Stuck_as_a_Mac Jan 06, 2003, 05:16 PM The poll for the naming of The Highlands is underway. You may change it, but around turn 5 could you check the poll to see if quorum was met? If it was, please change it back.
Poll is here:

Move Knight in Strider's Haven to Palanthus, and then a pike from Palanthus to Goonidom, and then the spear in Goonidom to Palathus to be upgraded
this will cost 100g, I expect Fionn to approve them, only upgrade them if Fionn approves

Presidential Summary
What a turn chat! After the two-hour preturn, in which there were a handful of spot council votes concerning build queues, the chat got underway and things started getting smoother. We didn't really have a chance at threatening the record for a turn chat, but during that preturn, I was getting a little worried. ;)
Not much else happened though except for a successful stint of urban development and the implementation of the revised Plan A. Our military forces are growing as expected and we are now training musketeers as we have connected our trade network to saltpeter. We have also connected gems and are ready to start trading them to the highest bidders.
The Great Irrigation Project has resumed and plains to the northwest of Tlaxcala have already started receiving water. Even the irrigation from Lake Victory outside of Bavaria will reach Kuhkaff next turn. All across the land, fields are receiving water where before they had none. Our cities can grow like never before!
