I started playing EUII a few months ago, and I've found it to be the best and most complex history ever. There is no question, it is in a different league from civ3 - it makes it seem like a board game. There can be hundreds of AIs with the most intricate and developed diplomacy system ever, not to mention the events in the game, or the fact that you can make yourr own events. I realize, the developers of civ3 would never need to make a game as good as EUII because they are guaranteed success whatever they do as long as they have the name; but they can surely learn something from EUII. Please, tell me your opinions about EUII.

PS, don't vote on the polll if you've never played it unless for option 3.

Never played it, but I am waiting on the mac port due out this quarter. A friend highly recommends it.

It's a great game and it is highly complex, but I find it hard to compare it with Civ.
EU is much more predetermined, you have to play more along historic lines than in Civ, where you can play in a much more free way.
Both games are really great in their genre, but I think that's not the same for both, so Civ stays my favourite game because of that.

But considering the simulation of history it may indeed be the best ever (Civ is much more abstracted), though you shouldn't forget that it only simulates a much smaller part of history.

I bought EUII many months ago, and havent learned how to play it.

I like games with combat, and EUII seems lacking there...

I love it, I find it among the most entertaining and complex games of all time. I dont mind the lack of combat element.

I own EU (i.e. not the second one) and think it's brilliant. I should buy EUII, and will soon I hope. Definitely one of the best games I've ever played.
