Steaming pile of C**p. Oh for the good old days when I could just download a patch and install it myself AND PLAY MY GAME WHEN I WANTED. Edit: I have never experienced a crash in 99 hours of play, so this is even more frustrating for me; although, I'm certain others will appreciate the "hotfix." Kyroshill Jan 19, 2011, 09:43 AM ^^^^^ This.... what's the answer to the incomplete download error?? anyone find it yet? From support.steampowered.com Incomplete Installation (10) Steam servers are busy. Please try again later. Karnokki Jan 19, 2011, 09:56 AM Patience. According to the Steam support site, error (10) relates to the Steam servers being busy, and that is all I could find. This is a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience none-the-less. lschnarch Jan 19, 2011, 09:58 AM Patience. According to the Steam support site, error (10) relates to the Steam servers being busy. In Civ4, if a patch couldn't be loaded, it did not stop you to play the game. Yet, people report that the "don't update automatically" feature in Steam is corrupted. So, if you have more games running under Steam, you may be screwed. Zyxpsilon Jan 19, 2011, 10:47 AM Just got V1167 worth 32.5MBs of a smooth & quick D/L on my setup and after some thorough verifications (loaded a few saves, went for a couple of turns -- no problems yet!) here's the exact files changed by it; Root Executables & DLLs as usual GlobalDefines.xml CIV5Traits.xml CIV5UnitPromotions.xml OnlinePanel.lua VictoryProgress.lua (That actually fixed the previously missing SS-Parts secondary popup) Upgrade1Textures.fpk (Spain/Inca fine-tuning probably) So far, so good. ;) Monthar Jan 19, 2011, 10:54 AM For now i only get incomplete installation error (10). For everyone that gets this, all you have to do is try launching the game again. Then it should complete the installation. You may have to try several times before it completes. This error is usually because of too many folks trying to get the updated files at the same time. It took QUITE a few tries.... but it finally worked.... even though the 1st time I tried to run the game it went black right after the opening movie.... 2nd time I ran it, it worked.... hopefully the first effort was a freak glitch The_J Jan 19, 2011, 12:41 PM see here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=408472 :yup: please do so. thread closed. |
