View Full Version : New Border Proposal - Plan C
Goonie Jan 06, 2003, 04:09 PM Well here it is!
This is an official poll and will run for 24 hours or until Quorum is met!
New Proposal!
This proposal caters to those who voted no on the former proposal. This takes their suggestions and puts it into the proposal.

Some people have said that borders have to follow terrain. This proposal does just that. Here is another picture that makes it simpler.

FortyJ Jan 06, 2003, 04:13 PM While I continue to admire your efforts Goonie, I strongly suggest that you take a look at some of the previous polls on provincial borders.
This poll should be considered invalid. It fails to include the necessary quorum or time constraints and it does not include a link to all of the appropriate discussion threads. Also, I'm not sure to which proposal the question applies.
Although I am opposed to redrawing the borders in this area, I will be glad to assist you in making a valid poll if you desire. Also, you may wish to coordinate your efforts with the Domestic Leader as it is his responsibility to establish borders.
Goonie Jan 06, 2003, 04:33 PM I find this kind of hard. I am new to this game and I cant seem to find a place to find all these magic rules people keep talking about. Where do I find there 'time constraints' or 'quoroms'.
FortyJ Jan 06, 2003, 04:35 PM It can be overwhelming, I know. I had my share of trouble too.
The Three Books (Constitution, Code of Laws, and Code of Standards) can be found here (http://www.civfanatics.net/~demogame/constitution_of_fanatika.htm).

For some reason I cnat post a link in the first post...
Shaitan Jan 06, 2003, 05:40 PM I vote NO again. (Predictable, ain't I?)
The reasons are mostly the same as my reasons against the last proposal. The mountain tiles from Southwest Province I agree with. Stealing Dapperdan and the last tile of the Spine I do not agree with.
Dapperdan has been part of the North Province since its founding. The North Province is one of the oldest and proudest provinces of Fanatika. It sits on a hill tile and connects to North Province at an adjacent hill tile (part of the same geographical structure) and coastline. There is no way that Dapperdan could be effectively governed by a MAG province government. It would take months to get over the mountains just to visit!
As FortyJ noted, the poll itself is invalid in any case. Free assistance can be received to post any poll at the YN&A polling service in the RPG thread. You do not have to be involved in the RPG to use the service.
Goonie Jan 06, 2003, 07:08 PM I fixed the invalidniss(if thats a word). And yes, Shaitan I did expect your vote to be no! I dont think we will ever agree Shaitan!
Shaitan Jan 07, 2003, 03:40 AM As you can see in the attached graphic, the North Province has its southern border defined by a Spine of mountains. This spine has foothills across its entire north face for the entire length of the spine. The Gem Mountains do not have any foothills. The portion of the North Province that goonie wants to take is the end of the Spine and the end of the foothills. They do not by any stretch of the imagination have anything to do with the MAG province.
Shaitan Jan 07, 2003, 03:58 AM An alternative border redesign poll has been posted. The other poll deals only with the mountain chain that defines most of MAG Province, leaving Dapperdan and the Spine alone.

Goonie Jan 07, 2003, 07:22 AM 9-8-1. Quorum has been met!
Shaitan Jan 07, 2003, 08:02 AM True, but the poll hasn't been up for 48 hours yet.
Cyc Jan 07, 2003, 11:57 AM Goonie, in the post above, where you state you can't post a link in the first post, you probably are. The new link or paste will wind up at the bottom of the existing post. Because you had graphics and what not in your first post, you just couldn't see the link. If you had slid the slider on the right of the box, you may have seen it. Even if you put your cursor in the middle of the post, the new link or paste will show up at the bottom.
I also understand what you mean about all the rules. Besides the 3 Books, you may want to wade through the very helpful thread Eklektikos put together called the Polling Standards Commision (PSC). Good luck.
Shaitan Jan 07, 2003, 12:13 PM Here's a link to YN&A (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31775). They'll be very happy to help you design and post any poll and will make sure all of the i's are dotted and all of the t's are crossed.
Goonie Jan 07, 2003, 03:37 PM I didn't want my poll to be up for 48 hours. Quruom had been met, so isn't it official.

No. 48 hours has to pass as well as quorum being met.
