Well could anybody tell me what the problem is. Here are the clues.
_ I (used to?) have a free host for my homepage.e
_ since May 2002 when I opened it it worked pretty well.
_ suddenly 2 days ago I could see that the pics hosted by it don't work when linked. So I went around to see what was happening.
_ damn, when I logged in, everything, absolutely everything was gone. Including the index.html. No file at all.
_ I checked the log and it said last modification was on dec 31st. And on the 31st I was at my parents home, with no internet connection. And it's not a referenced site so nobody is aware of its being here. So I don't think it can be a hacker.
_ I tried to ftp again my backup. No way to upload anything even a 1kb file to my site. It says file transfer failed/impossible. :confused:

So actually I would like to hope that it's only a temporary host crackdown. But if it's not, what happened? That's really annoying loosing everything.

Is it a "free" homepage from your ISP? If so, have they pulled it down because of something like you changing ISPs? :confused:

Actually they're also hosting my email. and it does work pretty well, POP and SMTP. So I don't understand why my site isn't hosted anymore. Maybe they are going to move to bigger servers. But I have received no warning email about this...

Contact them via e-mail. Is their main site still up?

Yes I did that, no answer yet. Plus everything including their main page is up.
I asked another friend who had an account there to test his site. Guess what. We could access his files via ftp but it was impossible to transfer/copy them to our HD! There IS something weird happening. Unfortunately the hotline and the support really suck. I guess I'll have to accept the tragic truth.
