I did a 2 vs 2 game on hotseat recently against my brother. Make sure that you are not after eachother. For example 1 than 2. Make it so you are like 1 and 5 or something like that.

That American capital is going to kick some serious behind ERIKK!

anarres
Jan 07, 2003, 05:23 PM
hehe. We do have our turns after each other. It's deliberate so we can play both turns at once.

We are all equal, so how can it be a problem?

Rome and Arabia have made a stand.

United they shall rule the world :satan:

Long Live Romabia :D

I think that it is low to have your civs decalre war on each other for elite/leader creation.

I WANT IT PROHIBITED!

Do you all agree? We have raging barbs, there we be plenty of fighting

anarres
Jan 08, 2003, 07:41 AM
I agree. I think attacking yourself should be banned.

Of course we may accidentially go to war with ourselves through MPP's, but we should ban deliberately doing so.

Melifluous
Jan 08, 2003, 08:25 AM
hehe going to war with yourself :crazyeye:

Wow I never even thought of that...

What other dubiousness can there be?

Also RAGING barbs? WOW..
What exactly are the conditions on this map?
Sorry, kinda missed the startup chat :p

anarres
Jan 08, 2003, 08:30 AM
Mel - against raging barbs you get something like +400% bonus on cheiftain, so your warrior is unlikely to lose...

Starting stuff: Pangea, Raging Barbs, everything else random.

col
Jan 08, 2003, 10:11 AM
i think I suggested attacking yourself to get leaders. I wasnt really serious guys - just my fertile creative mind at work ;)

Of course it should be banned.

Mm what else can I come up with to counteract 3 cows ....??

I opened the first and can see the minimap with your position on the WM.

I can show you later how to edit them smaller (when I get home)

ERIKK
Jan 08, 2003, 12:00 PM
Col and I are within 6 or 7 squares from each other :(

I dont know if this will be much fun to play... He is next to my cow-city.... Before he has a merc I can have a couple of warriors on his productive soils... Also I still think there are continents!

Any comments: come to MSN!

edit: mel and anarres also saw your minimap! I did not saw your maps but have a scout overlooking your city in turn 2

Some say you shouldnt settle first turn next to a goody hut - you cant get a settler going first. Opened it with worker - cant get barbs if no units - but no settler guys......rest easy

anarres
Jan 08, 2003, 03:16 PM
col, you can't get a settler when you have one already.

hehe. I got a tech from my hut :D

Again, Romabia makes a play for world domination *yawn*

@Mel : you definitely benefitted most from the restart. From no cows no rivers to rivers, cow, lotsa shielded grass and wheat. better thank col for posting that 1st image ;)

@erikk Now i see where you rushed after we discussed the leader generating schem  I'm amazed no one thought it up before, i discussed it briefly with Sultan Bargash in his 2 headed giant game a few weeks ago. I still want to use it in a 2human vs 4 ai deity game and punish the ai for all the deity losses I have amassed.

The reason for the restart was that my city was four squares from Erikks 3 cow city. He could have taken it within a few turns and there was nothing I could do about it. Even I could have wiped Erikk had our starts been reversed.

Taking a civ out at the very start was thought to be game unbalancing - and would have spoilt the game for everybody.

Hence the restart.

col

I'm not available tonight- I did say this was a tough week. Out socialising tonight + tomorrow. Sun night will be available and should be back to normal next week. I have been trying to keep things moving this week as best I could.
