I totally disagree. Too many things can go wrong on a kick. WHY kick it on SECOND down? Especially just after the miss. Third down I can even understand. The Titans were moving right through the Steelers defense.
Say, if the Steelers had NOT accidentally run into the kicker, how brilliant was Fisher looking then on 2nd and 6? They would have gotten the ball and very possibly won (because they would have gotten the ball.... :D ).

P.S. Running it into the end zone is a sure thing. Give that a chance first before the kick.
So, you don't find the point spread thing a bit curious?
