Although i am not that interested in most movies there exist a few of them which i like watching from time to time.

Probably my favourite is A Beautiful mind.

Another one i remember liking was The Legend of 1900.

What these two have in common is that their protagonists are introverted and exceptional at their field, mathematics and music. They are films about the mind, and there appear to be few of those around, moreover even fewer which are directed at mature audiences. :)

I like the Planet of the Apes series(and I hate that awful remake).

I like the Lost World genre, even if Planet of the Apes isn't technically part of it, an adventurer lost into a new world seems like it would fit.

Planet of the Apes is OK but I mostly just like how you can see Charelton Heston's butt in it.

Being John Malkovich was good. I like the version of Nineteen Eighty-Four which was made in 1984. The Great Dictator, of course.

Watching horror B-movies late at night is always fun. Once me and a friend saw a film called something like "Maniac Nurses Find Ecstasy". We laughed our asses off.

I don't generally watch movies, and on the rare occasions I do 90% of them are comedies. Maybe even 95%.

edit: seeing as I included 2 movies with the same screen writer (I didn't even realize it was the same screen writer until now), I'll include a third movie from the same screen writer. All 3 of these movies are in my top 10 list and have the same screen writer.

Sean Connery said this was his favorite film he had starred in. Two British ex-soldiers in India goes to become kings over distant Kafiristan (now eastern Afghanistan). Excellent acting and atmosphere, with a chunk of humor.

I guess this is my favorite of the "Man with no name-trilogy". Love the characters and the story, and the music is maybe the best movie music ever.

May seem like a regular horror/scary/etc. movie, but is maybe the movie who has made the biggest impression on me after seeing it. The feeling only lasts for a little while though.

Must be my favorite humor movie. I already like zombie movies, and the characters stupidity and the irony of the situation is just perfectly made.

Is it really necessary to answer a question like this with images?

I know it's cliched, but Citizen Kane is a really, really great film.

Also, Singing in the Rain is incredibly good. I saw this for the first time a few weeks ago and already I want to see it again.

I agree with Imrahil91 that For a Few Dollars More is probably the best of that bunch, but I still love The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, which was the first one I saw.

True Lies was great, but his best film of that kind was Last Action Hero - a rather interesting example of an incredibly good script that somehow became a mediocre film. Something just went wrong somewhere along the line.

Demolition Man is awesome.

There is, however, only one greatest film ever made.

And great actors continue to find new meaning and depth in its timeless message:

Aren't there any wolf-themed films you like?
Or are you too strict about lycology to enjoy the essence of such films? :)

Aren't there any wolf-themed films you like?I think the closest might be Mongol (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0416044/), where the thunder god is represented as a wolf in a cave, but I don't think I seen any that weren't horror films of some sort.

American Beauty, Memento

Those four are certainly four that I put in my top stratum of movies.

My favourites are Forrest Gump and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but another perhaps less notable favourite of mine is Sin City. It really is an excellent movie.

True Lies was great, but his best film of that kind was Last Action Hero - a rather interesting example of an incredibly good script that somehow became a mediocre film. Something just went wrong somewhere along the line

I remember a review of The last action Hero(maybe it was the nostalgia critic) where it was mentioned that Jurrasic Park opened the week before The Last Action Hero and completely obliterating it in terms of tickets. Furthermore the PR-department seemed to have royally screwed up on this movie.
Apparantly it was marketed as any other movie from the embarrasing Arnold(Twins, Junior etc) era, where as this one actually was a very clever and much more intelligent movie dealing with the deconstruction of the action genre. I find it to be one of the funniest comedies I have ever seen, simply for how it deals with all the actionmovie-tropes

So what I gather it seems this film just never got any chance to get out in the spotlight and has since been neglected and forgotten as a silly bad movie.

And for my contribution I think I would like to mention my favourite comedy "Some Like it Hot" which, if I knew how to post youtube videos here, I would show you a trailer. But you'll get a link, since that is what my MaD L33T-SKILLZ!!1!!1 can manage:)

Yes! One of the best parts of that movie is Deodato's adaptation of Wagner's Also Sprach Zarathustra.

Time Bandits is certainly one of the greatest films ever made.

It surprises me, now I come to think about it, that it hasn't become a source for cliched and endlessly repeated quotations, in the manner of Monty Python or Blackadder or the Princess Bride. This is a good thing.
