As the nation celebrates the life of the lost Prince Shaitan, I feel an excellent way to celebrate his memory is to hold another tournament at the Augusta Palace.

This tourney will be slightly different from those of the past, namely in the fact that I have little money. An entry fee of 100g will be charged to all participants. All the money will be go into a prize fund, which will distributed among the winners. Of course, I will accept more than the entry fee amount to increase the pot.

The Events
High Joust
The Lists
Horse Racing
Steeplechase
Arhcery
Spear Throw
Grand Melee
Duel
Wrestling
War Games

Refer to this post (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?postid=565646#post565646) for competition requirements and info, and this file (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads3/Stats09Jan.txt) for character point info.

Welcome to all participants! While these games will not be as fancy as those previous, I have no doubt they will be any less memorable!

Octavian,

Please read my previous post. I believe I edited it while you were updating the competitors list.

In short, my change was to award 300g to the War Games winner from my account.

Unfortunately, unexpected rain will put off the first event. I apoligize, for I could not have expected inclement weather. In the meantime, however, I have had the cooks prepare a feast while we wait. Dig in!

Not to worry, Sir Plexus. It isn't too late yet!

In fact, because the file server is down at the moment, I'll have to continue to place the tourney on hold since I don't know everybody's individual stats. With luck, the server will be back up soon...

Let the Games begin!

The first event, the High Joust, takes place in Doughnutia Proper, just outside of Bavaria.

The first up naervod of Numenor and Grandmaster of Vanir. An interesting contest came about. On their first charge, Grandmaster and naervod easily dishorsed eachother. On the next charge, neither fell of his mount. In the third round, however, Grandmaster suceded.

The next two contestants where jdd2007 and Donavon Zoi. This round went much faster because jdd easily knocked Donavon from his horse.

The final round was a competiton between Grandmaster and jdd. Even this round was short, because with a magnficient crash after the first charge, Grandmaster was unhorsed, and jdd2007 proclaimed the winner.

I award 200g of the prize fund to jdd. Congrats!

On the next day, the next event was The Lists. The day was bright, and promising for a fight.

After a random drawing, Sir naervod was awarded a bye. The first two competitors were Plexus and Donavon Zoi. The fight was expected to be close; both were know as excellent fighters. However, Donavon's superior horsemenship secured the victory. He won the first round.

Next up was the winner of the High Joust, Sir jdd, and Prince Grandmaster. The Prince of Vanir had an excellent reason to fight, for redemption after the previous day's loss. His revenge, however, would not come yet, as jdd's superior speed upon his mount gave him a victory.

Now, naervod, jdd, and Donavon remained. A random drawing gave Donavon a bye to the finals, leaving jdd and naervod to fight. This fight was a bit shorter than the others, as jdd handily won with superior horsemanship.

The championship round saw jdd, the favorite, and Donavon square off. The fight was fiercer than everyone expected, raging on for well over 2 hours. Donavon began to show some weakness, and jdd began exploiting it. After that moment, it appeared more and more likely that jdd would win this contest as well. The end was nearing, and everyone could feel it. Finally, jdd prepared for the final charge. In this charge, he made the slightest of mistakes, so slight that no one noticed it, but Donavon. In a brilliant move, Donavon defeated jdd. The contest was his!

I award Donavon Zoi 200g.

I would also like to announce that, to even out the prize monies, I will offering an award for the horse racing event of 300g.

JDD! My hat's off to you for putting up such a furious fight! I believe your quick dismissal of me in the High Joust allowed me to keep just enough energy to win this event. Otherwise, I would have surely been had.

Great fighting, everyone!

Sorry for the lack of competiton. I never expected so much rain...

The next competion were the horse races. The riders were to go from The Augusta Palace, to the Presidential Palace of Bavaria. The sound of a gun marked the beginning of the race...
In Bavarvia, crowds lined up on the mainstreet leading to the Palace to cheer on the incoming racers. The distant sound of hooves was heard. The crowds roared as jdd came rushing down the street, followed closely by gunning and Cyc. Suddenly, gunning caught up to jdd, leaving Cyc behind in their dust. Then, before anyone knew what was happening, Cyc's throughbred put on a hidden burst of speed, and won the competition.

I award 200g from the prize fund to Cyc of Manitou.

Thank you Octavian X. I must give the glory to my stallion, The Black Beauty. All I can do is ride him and try to help guide him in the races. I am very proud to take the Victory Lap in front of the Presidential Palace. What a great day.

The next competition was the steeplechase. The contestants lined up at the Presidential Palace at the Marillion, and the race started...

At a small shack were a respected hermit once lived on Mt. Doughnut, a judge and around 20 die-hard fans waited. In the distant, the familiar clatter of hooves was heard. Slowly, 9 figures were seen. It appeared that all the contestants were coming up, nose-to-nose.

Moments later, in close heat, Cyc came in first, Octavian second, and naervod in a close third.

I award the 300g put up as prize money by Cyc, to, Cyc. :hmm:

Thank you Lord Octavian X. It feels so good to be out again, getting some of this clean Fanatikan air in my lungs. Your Steeplechase was exhilarating. Following the links up to this old shack was a good idea. I remember the hermit who used to live here, too. Thanks again.
