Take a look at this... this is the result I get out of my storyboard:

What am I doing wrong?

As a very quick guess, it looks as if your storyboard is much smaller than the frame size.

Could you post a screenshot of the FLICster 'File Infomation' tab, and the sizes of your storyboard?

You seem to be right Kryten, but now I get a new problem...

When I change my Frames to the correct size, which is 240x240, the program crashes... :(

I can't seem to lower the frame size either... so I have to increase the canvas size of each of my frame images to 240x240px...

I'm basing my animation on a FXM made by exporting the Modern Armor AttackA storyboard, and replacing it with my own.

I did change the number of frames to the number I use before exporting etc...

My guess is your 2 storyboard sizes are not the same. This has happenned to me a few times when I forgot to take the frame borders into consideration. I usually export units without them.

By the way, what unit are you working on?

what was that supposed to be?

I am perplexed.......i've never encountered a problem like this.
It doesn't seem to be any mistakes in what you posted.
are you doing anything outside of the flicster program that might be able to explain this? like trying to load different palett's or something?

I just reread your post and think I see.....are you replacing the whole pcx and not pasting your unit onto it? that might cause it to crash, if the palett is different.

 anyway........if the baby will let me continue :p I remember something in the readme about changing the pallette, but I never figured out how to do it successfully :(
I running without a mouse at the moment so forgive me about the laziness of double checking to know the names but there are three pallette related files exported with the fmx and not being able to manipulate these myself, I can't give you any insight on this issue :( the only thing I can suggest is doing it the other way around and importing the pallette into your model.

Why does this has to be such tedious work.... :(

Maybe I should just make my storyboards and then let someone else make them into .Flc's... although I would rather learn how to make them myself...

Frustrating...

Perhaps you can post one of the storyboards here that causes problems so we could try it out - maybe one finds a solution?

those don't look like 240x240 frames to me, they look rectangular.

I know it's not a palette issue.

But.....

I think, perhaps, you tried to make a .PCX file "fit" a fxm file.

My suggestion, would be to start from scratch a new storyboard "test1" at 240x240, 20 frames.

Open it in PSP.

paste your old .pcx storyboard onto it, (ctrl+shift+e to line up frames exactly, or if not using PaintShopPro, "paste as transparent selection")

save, then look at the .fxm file in Flicster.... be sure to use the "open" tab, and not use the quick tab (do not use the pull down tab that lists the 4 previous files viewed, or it may show you the old storyboard, and appear as if nothing changed).

Basically, when you export a .fxm, it is wise to paste only to the .pcx created in the process.
