Chieftess, here is how it works :). You (and Goonie) send me your preferance Tiles list. Then once I get the tiles then I transfer the tiles to you Chieftess, and you hand me the gold to cover the cost of the tiles :).

@Donovan - Regarding the mess in Vanir/NP: This is caused by an incomplete ruleset. I just didn't have time to get it finished. :(

Here's how it was supposed to work: Defensive holdings protect the tiles they are on while under seige. This part is functional (handled through the Conflicts thread). The large defensive holdings were supposed to have a range of protection, 1 tile for keeps, 2 tiles for castles. When a seige lifted, those tiles would be protected as long as the defensive holding withstood the seige. The reasoning being that the RPG players can't actually contol the game unit movement. Vanir had thousands upon thousands of troops at hand but that didn't matter at all in the played game. This system would give some protection (expensive though it is).

So, what do we do? The cities were all defended with castles and were not taken in seige so those remain Vanir (and gunning1 for Gunningheim) property no matter what.

For the rest there are a couple options I can see.

Option 1 is let it fly. Take the save where you came into office and use that and the existing land records. The death of the previous Land Officer (and more importantly his inability to function due to RL events) caused chaos in the office and you start with a current audit.

Option 2 is the free for all. As the tiles were owned and lost and are now again in our borders, they are subject to annexation by troops using the Conflicts rules. They don't get added into the availability in any case.

Note that the newly acquired territories (i.e. Satsuma) do go in the availability.

People......this thread is for official land business only. Please send PMs if you want to trade with each other. Maps will be up early next week to help you out.

@Chieftess - PM gunning to ask if he wants to sell the tile

@Shaitan - thanks for the clarification although it would have made for a great story in the Federation thread. Maps will proceed as-is with no need for conflict land grabs.

Regarding the recent questions:

I apologize for the delay in the land availability. As new Domestic Leader, I have much to sort out and am making the best of it.

Rather than resign from the land office, I am making progress here and hope to have an availability early next week. I have completed maps for Rhineland and SW and Tuesday AM CST will post these as well as Shaitan's and gunning's maps in their appropriate post at the beginning of this thread.

Maps for North, Southwest, Rhineland and Montis Abeo Gramen Provinces have been uploaded. You will find them among the first ten posts of this thread. There are some issues that I will fix:

1. I have yet to add the availabilty tiles to Rhineland yet.

2. I noticed that I didn't label the cities in SW or Rhineland. I will upload a new map when I do. This also goes for gunning's MAG map.

3. Shaitan's NP map has too many available sea tiles. This may be somewhat fixed during settlement there this turnchat, but will still need to be pared down.


That's all for now. I will begin work on Taliesin and Hafenland maps today.

Maps for Taliesin, Hafenland and Sugar & Spice have been updated for ownership. Only South Doughnut remains. I need to compare that one against the savegame. I also need to use the savegame to determine availability for all the maps.

Also, most of the maps are once again not city-labeled. I will correct this when I add the available tiles.

It won't be long now. I am hoping to determine available tiles by Friday so that everyone will have the weekend to make their selections. Thanks again for your patience.

A miracle has happened! Brother Plexus has offered us a tile in the Hafenland for us to build our second Mission. We approached him offering to buy his lone tile (grid ref: I:15) which is surrouned by the lands of BCL1000, but he returned our message offering it for free!
We gratefully accept this and ask for the ownership of I:15 to be updated. Now we can work to build a Mission in Rohan.
For his generous donation, Brother Plexus is now named a Friend to Spiritualism, and will be included in The Book of Spiritualism along with all the other Clerics, Missionaries and those who have found special favour with the Gods.

Donovan, did you see my new map?

Once you have caught up with the back land revenues that are due, the BOV can help out the Land Office with future land revenue distribution. All you'll have to do is make a list of each land owner and how much revenue they receive each chat and I can plug those into the chatly earnings portion of each account. After that, you would only have to notify the bank when a player's revenue amount changed. Since chatly earnings are done anyway and they are figured automatically this would be a very small burden for the bank.

Brother Adam: Can we have official verification that the plot of land in Rohan (grid ref: I:15) has indeed been transfered to the Order of Spiritualists? We have builders waiting to move in...

@DZ - I've noticed on your maps that the lands of Manitou are named in Bohemia District, but not in the Soutwest Province. Manitou Castle (The Salient) is actually built in the Soutwest Province. I was wondering if on the next mappings, we could place the name Manitou on both the Bohemia and Southwest Province maps. Thanks.

@Cyc - That's my fault. I did the North/Bohemia map and used the territory names instead of the owner names. The standard is to use owner names. Still, since we have so many large named territories now it would be cool if we changed the standard to using the territory names.

I disagree. Maybe everyone doesn't follow those things and therefore don't know what Manitou is or who it belongs to. On the other hand, everyone knows who Cyc is....especially now. :D This is a land ownership thread, and should therefore notate the owners of the land.

Take Lancre, for example. Lancre is a district with parts owned by Padma, Plexus, Shabbaman and Grandmaster. If I were to label that as a territory, it would only add confusion....not to mention make it impossible to determine who the owners are.

BTW, still working on the availability. We are almost there.....

When I was starting work to update the noble registry to comply with new rules, I was shocked at the lack of updates this office has seen. I went through all the transfers since the last update, and now present these new lists.

Note: If a province is not in the zip, there was nothing new. Also, I took the liberty of renaming the SS labels to NJ.

There has been very little updates from the sales mangement and we have still been waiting for a land sale. I believe it is time that the RPG management intervene and get the Land & Sales management running again.

Hmm, I agree that we should let DZ go. I can understand that DZ has RL requierments and Comitments to do.

It has certainly been far too long without an availability. The Price Manager (Strider) is directly in charge of this section so can remove DZ and hire a new person for the Office Manager position. I recommend contacting him first to see exactly what is up.

There were times when I got close to providing an availability for SaaM, but the task proved to be more time-consuming than expected. After awhile, it seemed that most everyone lost interest in the RPG altogether and I eventually followed suit. I honestly didn't think there was much demand for an availability anymore.

Once again, my humble apologies to all and best of luck to anyone who has interest in this position.

I certainly don't have the time to fill this position, but I would recommend a new manager section off any new availability...

a reminder: I just run the RNG and see who gets what. After this, I send it to the office manager who bills people.

Just saying, per review, here is the formula i will be using in excel

=ROUNDUP(RAND()*X,0), Where X equals amount of participants. I assign each person a number in the start. Then I run all the tiles through that formula. At the end of each availivilty, I will included the spreadsheet.

A NOTE: DO NOT EXPECT IT TO TAKE LESS THEN 4 DAYS TO DO THE FIRST LAND SALE. WE WILL HAVE OVER 1,000 TILES, IF MY GUESS IS CORRECT, TO SELL.

I'm not sure what you mean by "run all the tiles through the formula". The buyers need to pick the tiles that they want. Or are you saying that due to the extreme size of the availability here that you need to just randomly throw them out to all comers?

@Shai: I mean with the number of people. X varies through the amount of people interested in that tile. As does the number for the person per tile..

I think you're getting a bit overcomplicated. Just randomize the people and pick the first available tile in turn.
