Multi-Modern Armor:

This one you might want to use as your own.

INSTALL for Civ 3: copy content into your CivilizationIII/Art/units folder,
Go into your editor (of whatever Scenario) and add the unit in the Units Tab, add the values
of your choice. (add Civilopedia entry if you have PTW)

If you have PTW you must have an ANIMNAME_PRTO_ entry and maybe a ICON_PRTO_
entry added to the Pedialicons text Doc.

The unit goes into the water in some directions but that is alright with me.

That's a whole SQUARE of overlap!

Put two units side by side and then post the picture and you'll see :p

Not to mention, modern tanks don't fight in strict formation.

You've just got too many figures in a munit ;)

5 is just enough.
It really deosn't matter that the unit overlaps in the game.
I don't pay that much attention to the little details.
other things with these units is the shadow is messed up and some of the animations overlap each other.
But I really don't care.
For the most part you can see the changes to the unit, and they work in the game with no problems.
Thats all I really care about.
I don't even care if the unit is unrealistic or not.
I would put in a talking rock into the Scenario if someone made a talking rock.
I'm not trying to be an ASS about things but some of you people need to learn that this person making these Multi-Units don't care about realility, My imagination will do me fine.

No Offence to anyone please!, I'm just letting ya'll know what kind of Multi-Unit Maker I am.
Not a realistic one.

Not a particularly good one either...

I think people are missing the point. sprnv8 has given up his time and put a lot of effort into making a unit for all you people to enjoy. Whilst you may not like the unit, you should at least be constructive. Say what could be better about it, what could be improved. Comments like these certainly don't help:

Thank You very much Zulu:)

I do try to make a good unit, but I really don't know to much about military units and there formations.
So I just reach into my head and pull out something.
It may not be the best but you can play them in the game with no Errors.

Thanks again Zulu!!!:)

Personally, I like them like this. I don't care if they overlap. RL tanks did this sometimes. Looks cooler in my opinion.

Sprnv8

Personally I love your enthusiasm (and the fact you have committed a lot of effort and time to your creations)
..but I am sorry to say that your units are not for my taste. For me they are just wrong, too big, too many units, too synchronised. I think I would find them overcrowding the map.

But please don't stop...this is my view and is probably not shared by all..and anyway you make me realise that I can be a grumpy bugger and I should lighten up and enjoy myself more often. :)

I must admit that they all are big, and now I'm starting to experiment with different animations and units.
I will try to make them smaller for it is a pain to upload and download big files. Thanks for your advice.:) :) :) ;)

I have mixed feelings (sorta too much, but look very cool in the pink backdrop), but I am confused if one doesnt care about detail, whyh care about MUnits in general?

sprnv8
Feb 07, 2003, 09:57 PM
I don't judge the unit because of the shadow not being the right color or the unit having a small part of it missing or the unit is unrealistic.
I don't pay that close attention to small detail.
The unit has to look like what the author says it is.
EXPLAME: One of my multi units's shadow doesn't show up in the game. I don't care about that unlike some people.

yeah I used to go to turfway park and the petsmart near the track to buy horse supplies and tack.I would be very intrested in some more mounted units with guns like the cavalry although i would like to see better guns like machine guns and whatever you can think of as you can tell i'm into horses.

sprnv8
Feb 07, 2003, 10:39 PM
No problem, I'm in works of a multi machine gun unit. It will be finished soon.
I will also make horse mounted units. Have you seen my Centaurs?

Hygro
Feb 08, 2003, 02:28 AM
I see what you mean by detail, and that I mostly agree with you.

The centaurs were great, but that goes elsewhere.

The people who get their panties in a bunch becuase a unit someone made isn't the perfect true to life military formation need to chill and get out of the house once and while. Theres a difference between a civ fanatic and a civ nazi.
CHEERS!

Ummmmm, I think thats just the normal old fashioned radar tower with some roads that have had the color changed. Or I suppose it could be lighting coming out of some magic radar thingy....

I'm lost to what it is I just would like a link to find it if possible:)

Jun 22, 2003, 05:20 AM
It's a Civ PTW thing, and therefore you can't download it, unless your talking about the roads...

horsematrix
Jun 22, 2003, 10:41 AM
no I was talking about the towers emitting electricity I've been looking into getting ptw so this is just one more incentive to get ptw i guess. thanks the great apple for the info :)

The Great Apple

Ummmm... I don't believe you understand me, and looking back I probably wasn't very clear.

The towers are radar towers, which are unique to PTW, they are a worker improvement with boosts the defence factor of all units next to, or on the square it is in, by a percentage (either 25, or 50, I can't remember), it may also boost attack factors, but I'm not sure.

The things which you describe as electricity look like roads to me, just with colours changed, the radar towers are completely separate from them.

horsematrix
Jun 22, 2003, 02:32 PM
oh ok that clears it up pretty much thank you very much:)

sprnv8
Jun 26, 2003, 10:06 AM
Those are towers from PTW and Raods that I had changed the colors.
The makers of Civilization had asked Civfanatics not to post PTW units on this forum but that doesn't mean that you can get those units and download them.(as long as you are not making money from it)
