I ordered a spy to steal a tech from the Indians and paid him a Moderate salary. Now the spy reported the mission was successful and I was taken to the Technology Tree. Now the problem is I can't do anything at the Tech tree! If I click on one of the tech icons, nothing happens. If I click on the X in the lower-right corner, or if I try to move to any of the other advisors, the game tells me that I need to select a tech... I tried about every key on the keyboard,:rolleyes:, so is there some really simple thing I've overlooked or is there a major bug in the game?

Oh, and hello everybody;).

are you selecting the techs that your AI opponent has? I believe it will be a blue color, those are the ones you can take.

Well, I click on the only blue icon (electricity), but nothing noticable happens..

I know I sound moronic, but.. how exactly do I select a tech :p? Just moving the mous pointer over it and clicking -and clicking -and clicking.. doesn't work.

Select a Tech you don't have, and one that they have.

And then... well, can't remember how to do after that. But I guess it would go back to where you where, or you have to exit the screen.

After stealing the tech as described above, you can notice in your own tech tree that you managed to get it. I never heard a bug in this before...

Sabo is right. . . the techs available to you are in Blue. This threw me too the first time I successfully stole a tech.

Hmm. . . dunno why selecting Electricity isn't doing anything. Can you post a save?

there is a bugt that will crash the game. Usually, it comes when you select a tech you are researching, get it, then select big picture and there is no second tech to tsteal (and that is another bug).

I have this exact same bug. No matter what I do I can not leave this screen. I know what techs the AI has that I do not, they are blue as advertised, but nothing happens when I click on them, or any other ones. Trying to leave the screen some other way gets stopped with a reminder I need to pick something. I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete the game.

I am using the latest patch.

I'm not sure if this has any bearing, but I have PTW and with the additions in the tech tree, the left most points to click are altered from the image. That is, clicking towards the left of the image will not do anything and you have to click more towards the right to get the tech selected correctly.
