View Full Version : Civ choice.
Goonie Feb 04, 2003, 03:33 PM Our civ has to be submitted in a couple of days. All the choice above are were suggested in this thread. (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43103)
Please keep in mind traits and UU's as you vote.
Goonie Feb 04, 2003, 03:38 PM Keep in mind, that if we do not get our first pick, we will get our second and so forth...
Eklektikos Feb 04, 2003, 04:18 PM Vive les Chinois! :D
Goonie Feb 04, 2003, 06:11 PM Go Persia....
naervod Feb 04, 2003, 08:03 PM Russia!
Plexus Feb 04, 2003, 08:35 PM Nihon hayoi! “ú–{‚͂悢! Japan is good!
WildFire Feb 04, 2003, 10:44 PM Carthage c'est super!
Shabbaman Feb 05, 2003, 02:37 AM Scientific/Industrious: that's either the Persians or the Ottomans.
Zarn Feb 05, 2003, 02:47 PM Japon (Japan).
(traduction: Because Eklektikos posted "Vive les Chinois!" ?
Anyway, i have voted for the sympathic Vikings, but the chinese will do the job as well.)
CHINOIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Veera Anlai Feb 05, 2003, 06:06 PM France! FRANCE!
Yes, I'm well aware of the irony ¬_¬
Non?
Ehecatl Atzin Feb 05, 2003, 07:06 PM Mostia. Queman nehuatl nionmiquis amo queman ximocuesco; nican. Ocsepa nican nionhualas cualtzin huitzitzilin.
You know I just had to vote aztec ;)
EA
Gingerbread Man Feb 05, 2003, 08:19 PM All this french - I'm confused. Then Ehecatl Atzin starts speaking aztec (or whatever).
Go persia! early wars are certain.
Mon Oeisteiv.
I say Persia
hey, i could be a translator!

Nahuatl, I belive... I was speaking Japanese.
(j'imagine que c'est la traduction de : Do you want us to be France")
Zarn Feb 06, 2003, 06:32 PM This thread caused me to change my title. Well, I didn't really change it. I think that's right (the title). We need more Japanese votes. One can't go wrong with Japan.
Goonie Feb 06, 2003, 06:32 PM Oui, c'est probablement Babelfish!! Ahaha!
eyrei Feb 06, 2003, 06:44 PM This is an English forum. Please post in English. Thanks.
CivGeneral Feb 06, 2003, 06:56 PM @Eyrei: I have Translated this post and here is what it says
Originaly posted by Goonie, Translated by www.babblefish.com
Yes, this is probably Babelfish!! Ahaha! I believe that Zarn is lost!! I believe that must have two official languages here. CFC PBEM DG TEAM would have as official language, the English and the French. I would like, well if you can coriger my French. I need to increase my grade
It looks like there are some Fragments of Typos that Babblefish cannot pick up.
Edit: discovered a Typo that Babble Fish has not picked up. :hmm: it does not sound right (Grammar)
BTW, I pick the Arabia Nation :).
Eklektikos Feb 06, 2003, 06:59 PM jaimerais = j'aimerais = I would like :)
Goonie Feb 06, 2003, 07:00 PM Sorry Eyrei. I think two languages would help this team so that we can bring toghther both to the english and french so that they feel equal!
Zarn Feb 06, 2003, 07:03 PM I never heard of babelfish before. Is it a translator or something?
Eklektikos Feb 06, 2003, 07:04 PM Nah, it would be very confusing to those who don't speak French. I only posted in another language for single post spammy purposes, never intending it to grow legs, as it were ;)

Thanks Eklektikos :),
To anyone: Please let me know if there are any Typos that any language translators would not pick up :).

@Zarn: It is in fact a Language Translator :). Though It does not pick up any Typos though.
Goonie Feb 06, 2003, 07:18 PM Sorry forgot my apostraphy :D! Anyways my motive behind the gap was to bridge the divide between the english and the french. Bilingual means that almost everything would have to be translated, but I now realize how unrealistic that is ;)!

Not that I want to contest the decision of Eyrei, I agree that the french posting was going a little bit out of control. But there is no rule in the link that talks of foreign languages or anything like that. If you want CF to be 100% English, you should make it clear. Just to clarify it once and for all.

Consider it made clear, then. ;)
Shabbaman Feb 07, 2003, 04:11 AM Action De Modérateur: C'est un forum anglais. Svp poteau en anglais. Merci.
Veuillez lire les règles de forum: http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumRules.shtml
Babelfish rules! You can find it here: http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr
What I said earlier: I'm for scientific/industrious. Japan is religious/militaristic. It has a superb UU, with a brilliant GA but... Allright, I'll stop complaining now.
Plexus Feb 07, 2003, 04:54 AM Babelfish does rule... but I have a better single word Japanese translator: http://linear.mv.com/cgi-bin/j-e/tty/dict
Shabbaman Feb 07, 2003, 05:00 AM That's nice... It'd make this forum pretty much spy proof (unless we're infiltrated by Japanese...) Much like the wind talkers (now, that's a lame ass movie...)
One more thing: I see the persians are in the lead (I can't complain) but I'd say we can get more out of the Ottomans. If this poll is closed, couldn't we have a final showdown?
Goonie Feb 07, 2003, 08:43 AM Lol, making this team a Japanese team. Thats Hilarious :rotfl:
donsig Feb 07, 2003, 09:42 AM We have a tie between China, Persia and Japan. Run-off poll? Is there a deadline yet? Are they going to start without us?
Civanator Feb 07, 2003, 09:58 AM Maybe we should take in Korean for important stuff.
Goonie Feb 07, 2003, 07:04 PM I am now starting a run-off. Here we go!

Mark Phisher Feb 08, 2003, 11:06 AM Non...
