You aren't in the US after 9/11 and a couple of cases of anthrax and other white powdery substances being mailed to various public people. They won't take a package that isn't addressed fully here.

But that doesn't mean you have to use your real name Just a valid address. And, in any case, it was UVA, not USPS, that looks to be Madviking's problem here.

Seems like the forum split somehow buried this thread. But I am still in and hoping it works out.

Arrgh. I was shipping it out last Wednesday, but was running late for the airport and couldn't get to it. And then showed up too late to the post office yesterday. The torch just went past me. Waited for about 45 minutes for it to actually arrive. About fifteen minutes before the torch came through there were three advertising vans (one for coke, one for Lloyds's TSB and one for Samsung) who all lamely tried to get the crowd in a frenzy. The bus driver who took a wrong turn and ended up in the middle of the ad vans got the biggest cheer.

On the whole it was thoroughly anticlimactic.

Apologies for the slight delay there - camera and stuff is all packaged up now. It shall be taken to the Post Office tomorrow morning for its trip down south to, er, "the north."

I'm sorry to hear that Abaddon and Boundless are both departed. I'd noticed their absences, but hadn't realized the gravity of the situation - I figured it was CFC vacations like most of us who have been at CFC occasionally take. I'm glad they're still partaking in the camera chain letter, but it's unfortunate they won't be here when the results arrive.

I am glad there's still progress, and that there might yet be results, even if 80 days proved to be an optimistic goal.

I finally managed to get to the post office before it closed today, but now I've sent the pack to Sweden!

The camera should arrive at Al's address in a few days ("A post or B post? The price is 130 for A post and 125 for B post.").

That is of course, if I didn't screw up somehow. I'm not used to sending stuff in the physical mail. I remembered to put my return address on it though, just in case. :)

That was the plan, but then Cheetah suddenly moved it to Al Da Great in Sweden (I suppose he eventually reacted to Cheetah's address request).

I moved it to ADG when he responded. I'll harass him more if he doesn't post soon.
