View Full Version : Science Poll- How should we? Strider Feb 08, 2003, 06:36 PM Which way do you think is best to increase our science research? Chieftess Feb 08, 2003, 06:41 PM There's two other things too - (VERY important) Markets and Banks. CivGeneral Feb 08, 2003, 06:49 PM Good point Chieftess :) @Strider: libries? What in the world is a "libries"? To help clarify things the libries is supposed to be libraries *Sigh* Where is EA when you need him ;). Chieftess Feb 08, 2003, 07:03 PM Originally posted by Strider Uh.... How will that help us research faster? More commerce. Look at it this way: 8 gpt with 50% science is 4 gold for science. 12 gpt (1 market I think) is 6 gold for science 16 gpt (1 bank I think) is 8 gold for science. If all of our cities were like that, 20 turns at 50% would be 10 at 50%. Add in libraries and universities, and we'll do pretty good. (of course, these are theoretical estimates) Goonie Feb 08, 2003, 08:56 PM I think a combo of these things would be helpfull. Consul_Thud Feb 10, 2003, 08:06 PM Speaking from experience as a Science Minister over at Apolytonia, the market approach, combined with democracy and a decent budget, works extraordinarily well. I cannot stress enough the importance of them. Feodor Ardent Feb 10, 2003, 09:42 PM Consul Thud speaks from wisdom. Markets, librairies, and a modest science slider will do wonderful things for your intellectual rep. Gingerbread Man Feb 12, 2003, 04:48 AM as many markets as libraries. as many banks as universities. that is how I do it. And we wont loose money from putting banks up. Thanks to Adam Smith. |
